Those he uses as unofficial shepherds possess the tenacity and resilience to take the process of refining and therefore build up tolerance for the journey they will take others through, as they are used by God to mentor others into becoming more unofficial shepherds.It's within relationships that people become the best of themselves. The Lord has chosen shepherds to share this type of relationship with his people. The question is, are these relationships in place in the body? The answer is yes, they are. Who they are, what do those encounters look like, and where are those relationships being fostered? They are within the normal pastor and congregation interaction, but would it surprise you to learn that many of them may not be the normal "pastor" and "congregation" relationships, or even the small group pastors/leaders megachurches put in place to handle the massive growth they are experiencing. I can guarantee you Christ has a flock, and shepherding must take place, and he is seeing to this, even if it's not the traditional way we are used to it. He has called, and people have responded and are still responding to his call to shepherd his flock.This then is what led me to write this book about the Good Shepherd and how he is ensuring that his heart is being developed in those he calls his earthly shepherds. A critical question to answer is, how do you know you are called to be a shepherd. What are the qualifications, attributes, and/or characteristics? I believe if we answer the question of what makes Christ "the" Good Shepherd, we would get the answer to these three questions. In this book I have looked at Christ as the Good Shepherd, then I examined the lives of regular men and women who I see exemplifying these characteristics. Men and women I call unofficial shepherds are being used by God to shepherd his flock. They are men and women who truly love the Lord and have a passion for his people, men and women who have allowed him to process them out so that they can be used by him to shepherd his flock.
SEARCHING: WHEN SONGBIRDS CEASED TO SING shares the whys, hows and whats that elvolved when experiencing a traumatic year-long search for a missing aircraft and occupants. It was October 28th, 1974 when brothers-in-law and the twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 414K they were piloting, disappeared. The aircraft, serving as an air hearse was on a return flight fron Gallup, NM. On board were a father and his two teenage daughters involved in a fatal car/train accident being transported to their hometown of Sturgis, SD, for burial. When they failed to arrive as scheduled, Rapid City Flight Service issued a Missing Aircraft Alert to all surrounding airports. With no sightings or landings reported, the alert broadened to include all airports in a six-state area, and an extensive air search was actively underway. Interwined throughout the story are shared memories from a secure past. Backtracking in time served as an invaluable coping tool when faced with daily uncertainty, helplessness, apprehension and fear of the unknown. Born and educated in Hungary, the author completed his high school education in Somerset, England.In 1944-45, he witnessed at close quarters the siege of Budapest by the Russian Army and the aftermath. He moved to England in 1947.Challenging years followed in London after leaving school in 1949. He worked full-time in a Fleet Street advertising agency, later as a delivery truck driver for a Mayfair wine merchant, all the while attending night school to prepare him for entry into medical school. His effort earned him a university scholarship.After graduating as a doctor, he served as Regimental Medical Officer in the Canadian Army. He then undertook specialty training in urological surgery in Edmonton, Alberta, then moved to Vernon, British Columbia where he practised for 31 years, retiring in 1999.In private life, he was an avid skier and tennis player and played excusable golf. At the age of 56, he took up flying which he enjoyed for 19 years. He enjoys reading, writing, poetry, singing, good friends, lively conversation, travel, photography, in short: life. My intention had always been to build a small community of those suffering from mental illness, anxiety, and depression. Right now, I humbly took some blogs and created this book for those who do not have unlimited access to the internet. The inspired goal of writing has always been to help at least one person.There are many books and social media posts that are out there currently. Praise be to God! These books and posts are sincere towards the betterment of the readers' lives. And, I thank you for helping me on my journey by purchasing this book. It's definitely an action-packed thriller, with fantastic characters and exciting plot twists. I just had to know what was going to happen next! I love that it is clean with no foul language or sexual content, but it is kinda creepy and becomes violent at times, so I'd save this for older children and adults as it'd probably be too scary for little ones. E.R. Fowles paints a vivid picture from start to finish, so it was almost like the movie was playing out in my mind as I read. Taylor Shaw is a young girl being raised by her single mother on a modest orange farm in Newton, California, in the California desert. While in high school, she secures a job babysitting for the Fitzgerald family and their daughter Tammy. Shortly thereafter, Tammy is kidnapped. No ransom demand is made, and no body is found. Along the way, the relationship between Taylor and Rick develops from help-mate to romantic. After Taylor finishes college and law school, they become engaged.
