Because of the bad economy and personal circumstances, I found it necessary to combine my middle book, Shadows of the Past, with this book, The Road to Visibility. My first book, Invisible Me, tells of my four-year hospitalization because of a life of abuse and betrayal. With no real support system, I simply lost my will to live. I hope you find this book informative and helpful as I reveal the reasons I lost my will to live and was hospitalized. I also share my healing stages and setbacks as time has passed.

***The Department of Defense cleared this book for publication***Service in the United States Air Force is an honorable profession. Each member of the US Air Force accomplishes incredible tasks in a very broad variety of functional areas in defense of the nation. This is an enormous responsibility, even for very junior airmen. Col. (Ret.) Marty Z. Khan, EdD, an intelligence officer, was one of those airmen who represented the United States in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, The Republic of Georgia, Germany, Greece, Korea, India, Pakistan, Qatar, and Turkey. Working side-by-side with marines, soldiers, sailors, coastguardsmen, US diplomats, and international officers, Marty worked on geopolitical issues, security cooperation, and intelligence sharing programs. For air force officers, working on geopolitical issues to implement the President's National Security Objectives in various parts of the world is an incredible opportunity to see how US policy is made and implemented. Colonel Khan's experiences and his vignettes show what it took to succeed in such a dynamic organization and in dealing with international officers. This book will benefit those who are currently serving in the military and those who have a keen interest in leadership issues military officers face.

King Bendigeidfran turned to look at the young woman. Her face was flush from the exercise, but she was not out of breath. The king spoke in his language in a calm tenor, "Do you know why I am here, Dominique of Earth?"King Bendigeidfran expected Dominique to look at his son for translation, but when she answered in the same language with flawless grammar, he gained a new respect for the little woman before him.Dominique paused before she answered King Bendigeidfran. She did not look to Prince Demetrjusz for direction or definition. In a sweet clear voice, Dominique said, "Your Royal Highness, you are here to evaluate my character and determine if I am worthy of the title Princess Dominique, Crown Princess of Caledonia-Debian and fitting mother of a royal heir."King Bendigeidfran leaned back and took a long breath. He was astonished by the candor he heard from this fascinating little woman. Dominique spoke better in his language than his own prime minister or the man's daughter. It gave King Bendigeidfran a great deal of satisfaction to know that this tiny little woman had obviously learned the royal language not just to say platitudes but to actually carry on conversations with her mate's father.King Bendigeidfran spoke huskily in his native tongue, "It would appear my son has coached you well with what to say to his father."Dominique's eyes flashed a sparkling shade of kelly green, her temper was high, and she answered the king, "King Bendigeidfran, Prince Demetrjusz does not coach me or give me the words that I use. I am an intelligent woman, and I will speak my mind with clarity in all things."King Bendigeidfran drew in a shocked breath. No one other than his lost mate and his son had ever spoken to him with the fire that this little human had just used. Her head was high, and her eyes sparkled with the inner fire that she held. But the tiny creature maintained dignity and respect for his royal person. King Bendigeidfran was starting to warm to the tiny woman. He was very attracted to the little earthling. His eyes started to flicker with a tiny flame of passion.

It is written that all is fair in love and war. Politics is war. That came home to John Verra, at first, slowly, then in one inhuman act of violence... "e;The lust for power in political minds is the strongest passion in life and it impels ambitious men to do deeds of infamy"e; (William Shakespeare).Verra believes promises made are promises meant to be kept. His beliefs, to many in his new world, are naive, gullible, and no way to live, especially if one is to survive in a big metropolitan city, where lots of money is to be made involving legal and illegal manipulation. Their primary need is forever present: to remain in power, to control voters, to use them, especially the poor. His past and his own promises continue to occupy not just his mind but his soul as well. In politics, the opponents are capable and willing to go back to the grave to dig up the bad. What does John Verra have to hide? Will he tell us? Can he be used?

Almost nobody approves of the way our government is working. Almost everybody agrees that money in the form of political donations is a major part of the problems we witness. Corporate and special interest donations are seen as the most egregious parts of the political finance problem. Our history books are not as complete as they arguably should have been when it comes to some of our more controversial historical events. It is difficult to imagine any reason for these omissions that does not involve malice on the part of the author. After all, when was the last time someone came to you with information they did not want you to have? The goal of this book is to offer ideas about how we might fix the political dysfunction that dominates our daily news and conversation. The reader will, I hope, find themselves drawn into a conversation that will be comfortable and productive when it comes to their involvement. The more we talk to one another, the more likely it will be that we begin to agree on solutions to our current political problems.

A Young World Drawn to the Gun is about America's youngest problem: young people engaging in gun violence. America is losing its future as our children are losing their lives on the streets, in our homes, and in schools across America. America has an obligation to protect the lives of all its citizens, including our children, teens, and young adults.Young America is vastly becoming the perpetrators, the victims, and the suspects in gun-violence cases and are in a sense killing one another over issues that could easily be resolved without the use of a gun. There are certain trigger mechanisms that can spark gun violence, and unfortunately, young America finds itself trying to solve its issues and perceived problems with the use of guns. Guns don't solve problems; they only make the problems worse.A Young World Drawn to the Gun gives an in-depth look at how and why young people are being drawn to guns and how and why gun violence is progressing in this country. This book also gives direct insight as to the consequences of committing gun violence and offers resolutions to help keep our young people from continuing to become the victims and/or suspects of gun violence. This book can be used to teach and educate our children in our homes, in our schools, and even in juvenile detention centers and jails all across America. America may not be able to totally eliminate gun violence, but as a nation working together, we can help to drastically reduce it. Together we can help save the lives and futures of our children, and this book can help us to do just that.

I can't say what inspired me to create "Weird" because I really don't know. The short, stupid poems simply started appearing on my computer screen, as I sat there musing one day, in my daily daze. More showed up the next day, and still more the day after that... and so forth. Soon after the last poem came to me, the illustrations for them began to emerge on my drawing pad, as I sat doodling at my drafting table. That, in itself, was weird! I can't explain any of it, and therefore, I can take neither the credit nor the blame for it!I must say however, that while in the midst of it all, I was quite entertained, as I hope you will be... enough to take a copy home with you perhaps? In any case, thank you for your interest, and my very best to you!Singer, artist, writer, clown.Builds a set, then tears it down.Paints all kinds of things on walls; In all the rooms, down all the halls. From late at night 'til break of dawn,Her never quiet brain goes on.Who can know what's in her head? She's truly one "weird" bird...'nuff said!- Andrea daVinci Braun
