Caribbean Sounds of Poetry by Sanaa appeals to a general audience. It focuses on the vast reservoir that the Caribbean shares with other countries. It includes local poems of the United States, Jamaica, and other South Caribbean countries. One poem which I especially like is "e;Ode to an Autumn's Leaf."e;

These poems hopefully will bring humor and inspiration to others. Living and learning nature and God's path for our lives leads to an appreciation and understanding of ourselves and others."e;A desire to inspire"e;-this is the goal of every poet.

It is a practiced belief that it takes a community to raise the youth of that community. But what happens to the youth of that community if the people of the community and the very soil the community is built on are corrupted? Vietnam G. Franklin, also known as Li'l One Gone, was conceived through a mixture of heated passion laced with a dose of intoxicants. Born into a community rampant with crime and violence, a place where the consumption of illegal drugs is more prevalent to the substance of life to the occupants of the community than food and water are; trying to find his way; rejected, ridiculed, and despised by his peers; an introvert by circumstance roaming the streets solo, trying to find his way, Li'l One Gone often finds himself in the company of the neighborhood movers and shakers. Pulled in under their wings, thrown into the hustle and bustle of the streets, schooled by them on the ways of the game and the arts of the streets called the life, will Li'l One Gone rise to the top of the cesspool of the streets, or will he be met with the same fate of the ones who tucked him in underneath their wings?

The love and loyalty that exists between little girl Millie and her lovely dog Lizzie is heartwarming. Every phase of this charming, rhyming tale is full of love and care. It shows just how far the dog can go to protect her buddy.

Princess Jacqueline is alone and unhappy in her castle on the hill. She makes a wish that she is soon to regret.

In September 2009, my home for the past year was a no-tell hotel, so crime-ridden police were holding their nightly roll call in the hotel's parking lot. Police were called to this hotel over one hundred times just that summer. I came home my last day there to find a SWAT team arresting my neighbor for (armed) robbery in the drug store across the street. I moved out then and there, fearing for my safety. The only option available to me at the time was to put myself out on the street. Homeless Not Helpless is my true story loosely based on a journal I kept during my homeless experience. With my protocol and (good) plan, I rose from the hole I was in, with my goal being to move to Franklin, Indiana, to be close to my son, who was in high school at the time. The whole ordeal exacerbated my existing PTSD condition. Still, I hope this truly amazing story will inspire whoever reads it. I was inspired to create this book by the rock band REO Speedwagon's song "e;Keep on Rollin'."e; My mission statement is to give a free copy of the book to every homeless man, woman, and child I can find out there.

I created Myrtle the Talking Turtle as a throwback of names not very common anymore. I hope the reader enjoys this magical adventure story as well as the sequel series to follow!

The real me behind the disguise for everyone else is a powerful self-evaluation about the disguises that I and many people struggle with: putting different masks on in different situations and around different people; looking for closures in life that sometime isn't meant to have closure to; looking for love in all the wrong places; not loving yourself or putting yourself first; basically living your life for everyone else but you. I mean, its hit many different topics in life that many of us struggle with every day, from falling in love, getting your heart broken multiple times, forcing pieces to the life puzzle that just don't fit, asking questions that never get answered, losing yourself in loving someone else, dealing with being a single parent, to feeling like just giving up on life because, at times, it become too overwhelming, even getting even with revenge. We have some lovemaking wrapped up in this too, along with family issues, and much more. This is a book that relates to everyone in the world on many different levels. Just know everyone has a story and is, most of the time, similar to another's. You are never alone.

Where Do You Poop? And What Do You Eat? was inspirational to me because sometimes children have trouble pooping. Children sometimes feel it's yucky or smelly or strange to poop. Some children tend to get embarrassed about pooping in public restrooms or even get anxiety about it. So, this book was conceived on this idea, to help children relax and realize that it's quite normal to poop. We all poop; even animals poop! >This book was written as an educational tool to teach children why we poop. And, internationally, mammals, reptiles, and insects poop too!However, this book has many educational levels or layers to it as well. It teaches children about other countries, cities, different animals, and where they live. It teaches alphabets; the sequence of countries is in alphabetical order. This book also teaches weather terrain best for these animals. It gets children thinking about other animals and how to take care of animals and why animals hunt for food-survival!Enjoy! Y S

This timeline is my perception of what happened to my family, friends, and me when the crack epidemic hit Baltimore City. The timeframe parallels the corner boys and the wiretap phenomenon. This experience is based on a true story and the first of a series. So let's sit down as friends while I narrate my story.

In 1979 Bill and Penny purchased a 38 ft sailboat. It took a year to get built and finally delivered. After sailing around the Southern California islands for a year, Penny suggested that they quit their jobs, take their sons JJ (15), and Dan (11) out of school and go sailing. And so, began a two-year adventure. Down the coast of Mexico, exploration of Cocos Island, several months in Costa Rica and Panama. One of the highlights was crossing the Panama Canal. After spending a short time in the western Caribbean, they returned to the Pacific side and after stopping at Cocos Island once more, headed for home. Spending time in a relatively confined space was not easy. The schooling was especially delicate. Fights and arguments were a nearly daily occurrence. However, each of us stood our required watches and could be counted on when tough conditions happened.

"e;Misery's Children"e; centers around a brother and sister, who, after their father's death, learn the tragic and horrific truth about their inheritance. A pickpocket in "e;The Light Touch"e; steals the wrong wallet. A shape-shifter becomes whatever he wishes to do whatever he wants in the "e;Roue."e;You will want to read Tricks of the Trade with all the lights on. Driven by greed and the desire to control the underground world, the gang clashed with the mighty playmates of Harvest View. Through the years, dating all the way back to their childhood, the playmates of Harvest View's relationships with the sisters of the murdered girl progressed to matrimony, and a lifestyle of class and distinction. Easily said, but not so easily done. This superbly crafted novel has near-perfect balance of action and will attract readers from multiple genres. It's filled with vivid characters whom you would fall in love with, and some you would love to hate. The dramatic actions of these characters pull the readers into incredible sequences of jaw-dropping, spellbinding, and page-turning suspense.

They branded Martha first,for no particular reason; she just happened to be the adolescent girl child closest and within easy reach of the smiling slave who was doing the branding. She was sobbing and crying, terrified and near panicking. Speaking softly in the singsong dialect of the Wolof tribe, the huge slave doing the branding tried to reassure her that the pain was mild and only temporary. He pointed to his own brand that stood out distinctly on his right shoulder. The brand was the Christian symbol of the cross where Jesus was crucified and murdered. Still smiling, he approached the girl holding the smoking red-and white-hot branding iron. Martha could see small heat waves and light smoke coming off the branding iron and disappearing in the light wind. The pain was horrendous; Martha passed out and her tiny body was eased down to the dirt floor by two slaves helping with the branding. There were four other brands of different designs smoldering in the white-hot flames and the brander would brand thirty slaves today. After years of slavery and hardship, Jason would tell her as they carefully planned their escape."e;There is a place in Florida where the slavers are afraid to go."e;
