Can you be vulnerable? People have a hard enough time being vulnerable with their friends and family. Now imagine that vulnerability cast upon the world. This collection was created without pretentiousness, never assuming its publishing would ever see the light of day. The deepest fear had to be overcome in order for light to shine on Bad Poetry. Sometimes you're just lost--lost in love, lost in tragedy, lost in confusion... The list is endless, but the one element that remains constant is emotion. Tumbleweed shows you're not alone on this journey.Bad Poetry, Vol. 1: Tumbleweed is the first installment in this poetry series. Just like a tumbleweed moving freely without direction throughout the desert, the poems in this book were written the same manner.

Dan Bullock was born on December 21, 1953, in Goldsboro, NC to Brother Bullock and Alma Floyd Bullock, being the only boy with three sisters, Lois, Porter and Gloria. Being a member of the E. A. House Boys Club at the age of 10 years old, Dan got to go on a field trip to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, located on the outskirts of Goldsboro. While on this field trip, Dan was one of the few who got to sit inside the cockpit of a B-52 airplane. Which sparked his obsession with the military move than ever in his young life; moreover, thus enhancing his dreams to enlist into the military once he becomes of age. Ever since Dan was little, he would play war games in the back yard on Griffin Street with his nephew, after becoming bored with playing Cowboys and Indians. His favorite war game was World War II. Upon learning of the Buffalo Soldiers from his father and other adults, Dan became even more obsessed with becoming a soldier. His desire to fly an airplane was enhanced when he learned about the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of primary African American military pilots, and airmen who fought in World War ll for the United States Army. Dan's whole world was turned upside down on July 17, 1965, when his mother Alma passed away just 37-days shy of her 45th birthday, when he was only 11-years old. His father moved to Brooklyn, New York. He took the youngest sister with him. Dan would continue to live with an aunt, before staying with his sisters. Eventually he went to Brooklyn, because he wanted to make sure his baby sister Gloria was safe and in school, doing well. During the summer of 1968, at a time when grown were fleeing to Canada and other places, or enrolling in Colleges and Universities to avoid being drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. Dan decided to enlist and fight for his Country at the tender age of just 14-years old. While looking for a summer job, and having altered his birth certificate from 1953 to 1949, showing that he was 18-years old, instead of 14-years old, while at the foot of Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn, when came upon a Recruiting Station, he decided to try and enlist into the Marine Corps. To Dan's amazement, he was accepted into the United States Marine Corps at the tender age of 14-years old, not knowing that it was the beginning of his legacy.

In the year 2020 when Covid touched down - so did the madness. Our world seemingly turned upside down and backward. My office was closed and folks had to work from home. When I realized the serious/negative impact this was having on my colleagues and those around me - I started to write words of encouragement - every day. I would send an email every morning to the Team - to cheer, inspire, motivate, and encourage them - to keep on keeping on. During one of our online staff meetings - the staff spoke about how much my daily connection and words of inspiration meant to them. They spoke of the impact it had on them - giving them a sense of hope, laughter, and peace. My 2 cents made a difference. A positive difference. A life-long difference. It felt good. I thought to myself - 'why not share this positivity with the world - they could benefit from feeling some sense of hope and peace. As I tried to figure out how to go about getting all this down on paper - I decided to add my poetry - and voila.... Divinely Poetic was created. I truly hope that you will find a smile, encouragement, or some level of hope within these lines. To God be the Glory!

I was quite a good student of the bible that could stand on my own against Jehovah''s Witnesses and a Seventh Day Adventist roommate. But by the time I went to college I had relapsed in bible studies with the conclusion that only the great commandment mattered or was essential for my wellbeing. Matt 22:36-40. "Teacher which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "''You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ''You shall love your neighbor as yourself''. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." If the Lord says that the law and prophets are based on these two commandments why do I have to bother with the finer points of the law and prophets instead of striving to love the Lord and my neighbor. When my life unraveled after college I conflated two bible passages into one. Matt 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Luke 17:21 "Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." I was skeptical but had no recourse with my back against the wall than seek for the kingdom of God within me according to the Holy Bible. I concluded or realized in the end that one does not have to be a person of faith or believer in the existence of God to find God within according to the bible. But once you find the kingdom of God within, you will never be the same again. This is the result of my search for the kingdom of God within me, it changed me, and I have never been the same again since I touched the kingdom of God within me in mid-seventies.

It''s 1939 - war is imminent for the people of Britain. It is becoming increasingly clear that every able bodied man will be needed on the battlefront and that British women will have to take over the jobs the men left for military service. This is the narrative of Scottish women in particular - through their stories, experiences, and sacrifices - how they not only kept Scotland and Britain alive but helped change the course of history."Some historians like to think that the British were very fortunate when Hitler grew impatient with his attempt to run over the British Isles, becoming distracted, then moving his attention to the Russian Front. I take a different perspective. Hitler found that it was much tougher to defeat the British people than he or any of his top aides ever imagined. We had many losses in our military and civilian population, but we were able to call upon every available man to fight on the frontline because we had a secret weapon at home keeping the country surviving - Our Women!!!" - Jeanette B. Man has always sought for true and eternal happiness in life and only very few are able to achieve this. What we do not know is that happiness simply lies within us. This book teaches us that an intense willingness to submit one''s self, without any questions or excuses, known as blind faith, can lead us to a better life that we''ve all been searching for. The book speaks about the strong faith in God exemplified by the "taking up" of serpents. Though the world may have several religions, our beliefs and faith is what binds us together in the tapestry of the Lord. This book will aid the reader in understanding the power of faith through serpent handling. Blind Faith: Serpent Handling in West Virginia will take you on an extraordinary journey to acclaim the glory of God.

Judy lost her son to a tragic accident in the Bahamas. Her only son, Jason, perished with two others while diving in one of the blue holes in the Abacos. Months after the accident, Judy tried getting her life back, but the pain of losing a great part of her still lingered. It began to put a strain on her relationship with her husband and affect her job. While she mourned, Judy begins having visions about her son and hearing sounds that initially confused her and made the people around her think she was going crazy. Her lamps inexplicably turn on by themselves in the middle of the night. The radio and TV start turning on by themselves too. She hears whispers and feels a lingering invisible presence. Deep within her, however, she senses that this is her son trying to reach out to her from the afterlife. She starts having lucid dreams and seeing strange symbols that convince her that he was trying to tell her something. Could she really be communicating with her son in the spiritual realm, or could this be the devil playing with her vulnerability? Or could she be just a mother struggling to get over the death of her son, refusing to move on from what was easily the most traumatic event of her life? This book was written based on the author''s perception of how this all took place. Others, of course, may have known things to be differently. And that too may be correct in their observation.
