He was a grandfather looking for the grandchild he had never met. The child was an offspring of a wartime romance, which the son had not lived to see its final fruition. What he got was a nightmare involving a cult that, like the suit in a deck of cards, always had thirteen members. It preyed on the very young and was led by a character called the Father, who seemed to have been here forever. Not only did Father have some strange power over the community, he also came with a connection to the strange rose that only came out at night. The rose was scattered throughout the town, especially in the cemetery before trailing up into the mountainside. It was also a rose seemingly found nowhere else in the world. The Fathers connection to the child ran through a silver-haired woman who seemed to be the wild card in Fathers deck of life. At times she seemed good while at evil. Still she seemed to be the only chance for a child connected to the grandfather by the beyond-the-grave love of a father.

Foundations for Understanding Prophetic TruthTo write a good fiction novel, one needs an exciting story line that keeps the reader riveted to the book. The material presented in this book could give any capable novelist (which I am not) everything necessary to write a best-seller. In fact, one might be inclined to think it is fiction. But the incredible events outlined here are all founded in truth and will, in fact, transpire as described in the following pages, not because of any claims that I might make, but because God''s Word declares it. Although this book is not written in fictionalized form but as serious theology, the extraordinary events presented in the following pages will be played out, if not in our lifetimes, then quite possibly in the lifetimes of our children and grandchildren.

We began with the generations of my great-great-grandparents, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents and continued on in book 2 with the high school years. Then with the unexpected inheritance, the transfer to Harvard University, and the gauntlets of the seventies and eighties. So what's next? What's next? The discovery of Michael's lost summer of free love in 1967. Let us return to the days of "Make love, not war," as the hippies chanted this and danced in the parks of San Francisco high on life. Or was it LSD? Matlin and Michael continue their life's journey with newfound friends and continuing struggles. A brother's betrayal is heart-wrenching yet forgiving. But a brother's death is forever life-changing, tragic. Great-grandfather's gold is discovered right under the twin's noses while myths and legends are being revealed. Stories will be told that lie in the dusty, recessed fictional section of the library, where movies are made from to stretch our imaginations of those so-called fictitious legends and myths. It will be discovered that what you may have read in books and what you may have seen in movies may be, and in the case of the twins, real. As we say farewell to Michael, a new chapter opens for Matlin's new beginning. See what a grandson has to say about his grandfather's beliefs. Tommy Crow begins to introduce us to Matlin and Michael's friends that they have made over the years. Hear what these friends have to say about the DeMarco brothers and the gaps in Matlin's and Michael's stories that are now being filled.

God has a reason for each and every one of us. I was thought to be destroyed before I even was. Much like the verse in 1 Corinthians 1:28, "God chose what is lowly and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are." As in Matthew 10:21, "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."God has a purpose for all of us. No demon was too big for me to handle even at a young age, for I followed the voice within me.God has been by my side from the moment my parents tried to end my life, before I was even born. God has given me the gift of seeing the demons within the human race and allowing me not to pick up any of that which will hurt me in the end. He has made me strong within his love and has made me passionate within her will. I was put here to tell others who are like me, "You made the right choice by not giving in to the bullies and knowing that you are loved even if that love comes from within yourself because God loves us all. Yes, despite the demons within us and around us, we all return to God.

The Life of Metaphors is based upon real-life things we see every day. This is a new style of reading material that no one has ever read before, which will open your mind to metaphors as a new language. In one of my chapters, I talk about money and how it can be a force of evil. For example, some people say money isn''t everything, but people will do anything to get it. I also talk about sports and how relevant they are to the players. Some of my favorite sports players listed as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Aaron Rodgers, and many more show my love of sports. Tom Brady''s The Brady Bunch and Aaron Rodgers in Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood are just examples of why I love watching sports, especially those two teams. It''s so amazing that many TV shows have come and gone, which is why I wrote chapter 3 as the old-school TV show chapter. You''ll discover shows such as Gimme a Break, Married with Children, The Facts of Life, Three''s Company, and many more. In this book, you will find real-life stories of how and where I grew up, and that''s why I designed chapter 5 for your reading pleasures. You also will find the roots of Milwaukee, such as chapter 11, which tells about beers and breweries because we are the home of the Brewers. If it''s credit cards you like, there is a story on the different types of credit cards-except in a perfect world, we all know there are rules and regulations before you swipe. You can find this in chapter 8.

    189,-

Reds is a story of the lives of five adolescent boys growing up in a small blue-collar town in America. A youngster named Reds assumes the role of their natural leader on the strength of his quiet but compelling personality. The narrative shapes the major issues of then and now around the lives of these boys as they grow up in a world devastated by the Great Depression and the Second World War. Economic divisions of rich and poor, insufferable racial discrimination, rejection of same-sex desires-these are some of the societal realities encountered by these youngsters who ostensibly want only to play baseball on their own neighborhood team. They do more than that, however, as their lives reflect many of the social challenges that remain with us today. As they grow into adulthood and inevitably to old age, they retain the lessons learned in childhood when they were not yet faced with the norms of social conformity which would rob them of their modest independence. Their otherwise unremarkable lives gain honor and dignity through the universal truths of their story.
