PS. Joan of a thousand days, call it over early October, 2020 after a vagrant email flash three years earlier. The Harvey Flood of Houston, Texas devastated her house and home. The Plague Year 2020 her own apartment refused refuge from the pandemic. This writer of a thousand letters sparked her curiosity. Perhaps there was empathy on the flood watch, or photos of Great Britain and his grandkids, or merely the outreach for shared tales of travel and life experience. Say we already met in 5th-6th grades at Netherwood or all high school at FDR. Say we shared the same birth date, same German grandma named Nana two blocks away, same ambitions to get out of Hudson Park and see the world of her Florida and Texas, his of Paris and San Diego, the same weddings and Lorraine's funeral after high school back home. The rapture is what delivers believers from "the wrath to come," that is, from the tribulation. 1 Thessalonians 1:1010 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.Some say this will occur before the tribulation, some say three and a half years after the tribulation begins, and some say it will happen at the end. Believers today must be ever watchful and hopeful, looking for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, there may be those professing to be Christians but really are not, who have never repented, continue to be unfaithful, and will be left behind at the rapture. But where is the rapture in Scripture? In our journey through the Bible, we see types and pictures of Jesus everywhere. Every single passage of Scripture points to Jesus Christ. To understand the New Testament, you need to know the Old because what is concealed in the Old Testament is revealed in the New. Solomon uniquely tells us something interesting with the following words. Ecclesiastes 1:99That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun. This passage is a memo of sorts from the mind of God to the readers of His Word that He repeats things in history. If it is recorded in His Word, we can expect the same type of thing to occur sometime, again in the process of redemptive history.So, can we assume that if the rapture is an accepted, valid doctrine, there could be types and pictures of it in other parts of the Bible telling us of things to come? Then the question is if something is pictured in the Old Testament, is it also seen in the New? And can we determine by those types and shadows whether there will be a pre, mid, or post-tribulation rapture? The answer to all these questions is yes! There are many accounts throughout the Holy Bible, all of which point to a pre-tribulation rapture.

When his parents paid Mark an unexpected visit, they brought along a film projector to show Mark long-lost videos of him and his brother, Robert. Mark moved away from his birthplace, Brooklyn, and Diana reluctantly went with him, literally crying all the way from New York to Maryland, their new home.Mark loved sports and especially his New York Football Giants. At a couples retreat, Mark brought along his own knobs from his TV to watch his beloved New York Giants, after finding out that the hotel removed the TV knobs to make couples communicate better. Years later Diana walked more than a mile in the snow to get home, after her car had a flat tire. When Mark asked her why she hadn''t called him, she told him that it was Sunday, and she knew Mark wouldn''t leave the Giants game to come get her. Between "Heartache and "Hope" Lies Uncertainty. That Space Where Painful Memories Find a Quiet Place to Settle.Therein lies a brief respite, but true equilibrium is elusive. So, I write, hoping that my passion on the page will encourage others to express buried emotions, "A bankrupt heart is a barren place" so, I write.

Young journalist Tanímò̩la investigates the story of ''they mystery man in the woods'' at Abà Kòsas̩ègbé, rumored to be the notorious moneylender Laiyemo̩ of Agbajó̩ town. Tanímò̩la''s family is intimately tied to the story, as his grandfather, Náyà, was neighbor, childhood friend and rival of Laiyemo̩, and Laiyemo̩''s father, notorious pirate È̩rùjè̩jè̩, had swindled Náyà''s father of his home and land. Tanímò̩la''s investigation takes him to a rundown hut, where an invalid Laiyemo̩ lies, his past sins destroying him from the inside out. Laiyemo̩ tells Tanímò̩la that, though he was jealous of Náyà when they were younger, he remembers him as kind and wishes he had followed his advice to avoid pride. Laiyemo̩ reveals his vision of the three bundles - destiny, fate and karma - and tells Tanímò̩la to learn the rest of his story from his benefactor, T''e̩nibè̩gí. T''e̩nibè̩gí''s tale begins with young Laiyemo̩ as the prideful leader of his e̩gbé̩ (age group). He was the son of the richest man in town. Laiyémò̩''s father, È̩rùjè̩jè̩, gained his wealth from piracy and then took over the town as a moneylender. Greatly feared and hated by all, he was ostracized. He isolated himself on an island farm far from others. He was found dead after a mysterious visitation by seven bats and seven owls. Days after his funeral, his henchman and a crone were seen conducting a ritual over his grave. When Laiyémò̩ took over the moneylending business, he destroyed the town of Agbajó̩. Almost all in town were indebted to him; many sold themselves into slavery to him to save their families. The town faced famine and great poverty. During the town''s Centenary Anniversary celebrations, Laiyémò̩''s e̩gbé̩ led a ''show of shame'', where they fed currency into the cooking fire for the feast. The e̩gbé̩ danced and sang, ''We are fully satisfied. Who cares that some are hungry.''

"Julio and Miss Sorciere" deals with the well intentions of a high minded female teacher and her love for poetry. In her attempt to bring that beautifully profound art form to her impoverished, immigrant students does she lose sight of what is of greater importance in her life and those she wishes to enlighten? "Like Father Like Son" pursues the idea of hereditary and its influence in one''s becoming. "The Artist" touches upon loss and its sad effect upon an individual. The characters'' struggles and discoveries are everyone''s as they attempt to understand what works in the need to get to the heart of the unending desire to find worth in one''s life.  

When my daughter was growing up, she constantly asked, why there were no superheroes that looked like her "brown skin girls." I was waiting on someone else to answer that question and offer a solution but no one ever did. It was when my 7-year-old niece asked the same question, that I realized that I cannot wait for someone else to answer that question for "Brown skin children." Her name is Myani, and she is a beautiful, inquisitive little girl asking the world for a change. Because of her, I wrote a book with a brown skin girl as a superhero. The book is titled after her "Myani the Warrior Princess". This book will let brown skin little girls know that they have the power to fight and make changes. I want all children who read this book to know, that they can slay their own giants and fight for a better world.
