A Mother's Story of her daughter's cancer journey and untimely death.

  • av Peter F. Warren
    349,-

First introduced in Peter Warren's novel, Confederate Gold and Silver, the author's principal protagonist, Paul Waring, along with his wife, Donna, and Paul's best friend, Bobby Ray Jenkins, head up an exciting and talented list of criminal investigators from across South Carolina's Grand Strand. Confronted by a series of brutal murders, and with little evidence to work with, Bobby Ray, the commander of the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department's Major Case Squad, along with his boss, Sheriff Leroy Renda, convince Paul to help them work these on-going murders. Retired from the Connecticut State Police Department, Paul's background includes not only being one of Connecticut's top investigators prior to his retirement, but someone who also enjoyed a long and successful stint as a criminal investigator. Paul's expertise in dealing with a host of vicious and brutal criminals, including a lengthy list of murderers and drug runners, caused many departments across Connecticut to have sought his help in solving a wide variety of complex crimes that were not only sadistic and heinous, but brutal and disturbing in how the victims were killed. As Paul joins the task force Renda and Bobby Ray have created, a key piece of evidence continues to be left behind at each of the scenes where the killer has dumped his victims' remains. This key piece of evidence are red bandanas that, in some cases, have been left stuffed inside the mouths of each of the victims. Also left at each of the scenes by the killer are notes; each covers a range of different topics. As the investigations continue, so do the killings. But then, as these bandanas are closely examined by Paul, Bobby Ray, and Douglas Vane, the chief forensic examiner for the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department, Paul notices several clues the others have missed. One of those clues soon leads him to their second suspect. He then advises his partners of the presence of this second killer; someone just as brutal as their first suspect. As Paul and the others struggle to identify their primary suspect, Donna Waring makes what she believes to be an innocent comment regarding someone she knows. From this point on, Park works feverishly to connect the evidence to the person Donna has mentioned. As he delves into each of these murders, Paul also works to find the answer to one other issue. Why have the victims been murdered in Myrtle Beach and their bodies dumped in Georgetown. THE HORRY COUNTY MURDERS takes place along the scenic Grand Strand in South Carolina. Readers who have visited Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Georgetown, SC, will enjoy how Warren has used many popular tourist attractions as the scenes for this story. The excitement and suspense Warren has weaved into this tantalizing murder mystery will keep readers on edge as they turn each page. A former Major Crime commander, as well as being the longest serving commanding officer of the Connecticut State Police Department's Statewide Narcotic Task Force, Warren's vast experience has allowed him to write a story which readers of crime novels and murder mysteries will thoroughly enjoy. This is a MUST read for those who enjoy a fast-paced novel while trying to identify who the two killers are that Paul's skills and talents have finally identified. Can you identify who the two killers are?The author of seven novels, Warren's latest story, FORGOTTEN TREASURE, is a sequel to his popular novel, CONFEDERATE GOLD AND SILVER.

Daniel was a teenage boy in Jerusalem when armies of the Babylonian Empire invaded Judah and took many residents in captivity to Babylonia. He remained there during the seventy-year period of captivity proclaimed by and enforced by God. He remained in the Persian Empire after the Persian Empire captured Babylonia. The Bible book of Daniel provides some of the most detailed information about the future of the world. God proclaimed events that would happen. Leaders of the day received dreams and visions from God. Only Daniel was given the interpretation of those dreams and visions.Daniel served in high level government positions under King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and King Cyrus of Persia. That produced the opportunity for Daniel to introduce leaders to the ways of God. (Called 'Yahweh' in the novel.)The dreams and visions from God to leaders, and to Daniel, project events in time from the Babylonian captivity to the coming of Jesus and the church. Historical events have occurred just as the visions from God proclaimed, yet a casual reading of the book of Daniel may leave the reader confused. No part of the novel conflicts with any of the Bible, yet the novel discusses prophecies from God that are not clear in the symbolic writing. (Thus the title PROPHET with Daniel as the prophet.) That is the primary reason this novel has been written.

239 souls are on board MH370, a red-eye flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. 238 expect to arrive safely. 1 soul knows that no one will. In MH370 Airliner Down!, authors Zicard and Holling skillfully use the known facts surrounding the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370, the greatest modern day airline mystery in aviation history, and create an epic espionage thriller with four countries involved. The fiction story places American secret weaponry in the aircraft's cargo bin. Jack Walker (CIA) and commercial pilot Addison Stark (Aussie agent & love interest) are teamed together to retrieve the weapon system. After a relentless chase through Southeast Asia, intelligence operatives, crewmembers, and passengers come together onboard, trying to control the final destination of the flight. MH370 vanishes into the night. No Mayday or pilot cries for help. No radar pings or satellite pictures. Will a suicidal crewmember have his way, or that a terrorist will hijack world attention for his cause, or that a manipulating operative executes a hostile takeover for his own gain?Weeks later, with passenger victims' families left behind to grieve, hardcore investigative reporter Noah Jacobs, discovers and exposes the truth of the Boeing 777 mystery disappearance, with its massive government embarrassments and subsequent international coverups. A true airline disaster, MH370's ill-fated events are uniquely dramatized-- managed plausibly with nail-biting suspense-- giving kudos to the insider authenticity and skill of the authors. This page-turning aviation novel gives new meaning to "inspired by true events" and will thrill both aviation aficionados and avid mystery-thriller readers alike.

This is an inspirational book about ordinary people acting in an extraordinary manner when faced with a multitude of challenges from a flood, fire and a superstorm. It is a story about the Point Breeze Volunteer Fire Department (PBFD) and two other volunteer fire companies within New York City who defied the mayor's evacuation order in advance of Hurricane Sandy. They chose to shelter in place for the duration of the storm and wound-up fighting one of the largest residential fires in the history of the city. The story is told by the chief of the PBFD, at the time of the disaster, and focuses on the overwhelming events that occurred during the storm and year-long recovery effort. The struggle to survive multiple disasters and to restore the community to pre-disaster conditions acts as a guidebook to many global communities and disaster response organizations who may experience similar events with renewed efforts towards resiliency. The book addresses the author's previous training and life experiences as a first responder which helped him to prepare in advance, for this series of impossible events.

Does God still speak to His people? This book has numerous examples when the Holy Spirit spoke to Todd in such a way that he knew it was God's voice, and acted accordingly. Jesus said that His sheep would hear his voice. Starting at the age of twelve when Todd first heard the Holy Spirit speak to his heart, he knew without question that it was God speaking. Regretfully, he did not respond. The Lord was calling Todd at a young age to give his life to the Lord, which he did not do until he was twenty-one years old. No, it was not an audible voice, because He doesn't have to speak that way. The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and in our thoughts, but it is never in contradiction of God's Word. This is not about mysticism or spiritualism because that is not of God, this is about legitimately hearing within ourselves God's voice for His own purpose. This book is titled "An Amazing Journey", and subtitled "Stones of Remembrance". In reading this book you understand why Todd believes his personal journey has been amazing. But more than that, his intention of the book is to bring others into recognizing their own amazing journey. He strongly believes that every Christian should also have their own stones of remembrance.

This book conveys real life experiences in the life of a firefighter (the author), beginning with his childhood desire to become a firefighter, his hopes, his dreams, his desires, and his aspirations as a firefighter. This book was written for the purpose of shining light on and exposing the cultural and racial bias that has always existed, and still does today in our society regarding the discriminatory practices, methods, tactics, and illegalities against people of color regarding hiring and promotions in all workforce categories. This has been, and still is an ongoing and deliberate attempt to promote the advancement of whites over people of color and to prevent the advancement of people of color. This racial injustice is still "alive and well" on the local, state, and national level today, and in particularly in our fire and police departments. The author experienced life changing events during his 31+ years' experience as he struggled to climb the ladder of success in an effort to reach the top. As a result of his fight for justice and racial equality, he became a drum major for justice.

Crocanthropus is an absurdist humorous short novel that proposes an evolutionary mistake that produces a crocodile-ancestored creature taking hominid form. The creature brings grief to all that encounter it. It combines the horrific legacy of a reptilian past, a feral child, and narcissist personality. It barks. It eats human flesh. It is wild, uneducated, nasty and mean. The novel also pokes fun at the reviews for over the top praise for good writing that inevitably accompany new fiction releases. Some examples of this absurd gratuitous praise reviewing are included as a component of the novel itself. In tandem with this, the body text of the novel comprises ridiculously bad writing, cocking a snook at the often very ordinary prose that is published to lavish acclaim.

As a consultant for the healthcare world, I have developed manuals that would help physicians understand how to code and document their services. And I have written many blogs related to healthcare that have been really appreciated by nurses and physicians - (click on "hjonesandassociates.blogspot.com").After closing my business, I have given more attention to my church and to my private time with God. And I have experienced joy writing this book - because it is focused on a topic that so many people (old and young) wrestle with. And that topic is prayer.

I didn't stay for my kids but I stayed because I felt obligated to prove a point to those who had rejected and rendered me useless. I wanted to be a wife so badly that it gave me an inner strength to endure what others thought was abnormal. I became addicted to the love bombs that came after every fight even though they didn't last long. I became suicidal and tried taking my own life, later it became thoughts that I didn't go through with. As time went by, I started enjoying the fights, I became a narcissist too using beer as a way to justify everything I wouldn't do when I was not drunk. Leaving was not easy but finally I walked away only to try one more time and it all didn't work. I was just putting a bandage on a bleeding wound and it backfired. I needed to heal first. Now that I am healed, I want to share my mistakes and ignorance. This will help one or two people who might be caught up in something similar to my own story. Never keep a blind eye to any red flag.

Today there is an increased interest, or should I say curiosity, when it comes to matters of the paranormal. Rarely a day goes by that you do not hear about or see something strange and bizarre either on network television or in the movie theatres. Many television stations now focus their programming almost exclusively on the paranormal. So, this book is very timely in that regard. In this book you will find a wide variety of strange and haunting experiences that I have had spanning more than sixty years. From hauntings to strange sightings to physic episodes of a paranormal nature that I have experienced all over the world. These stories are told in a way that will grab the reader's attention rather quickly. Knowing that these stores are based entirely on actual experiences makes them all the more compelling. This is a book you will likely not be able to put down. These are "Stories Best Told in the Dark."

Happiness is difficult to describe. No wonder philosophers have argued about how to attain it for centuries! Is there really a path to happiness? Yes, and T. Calvin Ward shares it in Happiness to the 10th Power (H10 for short). We've all met unhappy people. They come from every background, age group, and socioeconomic status. Thus, Ward chose to write a simple manual on how to find personal happiness that anyone can use. No pie-in-the-sky objectives that depend on wealth or youth or belonging to the"right group."Instead, Ward presents 10 factors that combine to enhance happiness. Everybody knows what they like and dislike--what brings them happiness (or at least what causes them to be unhappy). This book won't ask anyone to change these personal qualities. Rather, Ward teaches his readers how to prioritize the 10 elements so they support happiness based on personality, traits, and likes or dislikes. The first nine are religion and/or meditation, honesty, friendship and family (including pets), hobbies and special interests, charity, personal goals, freedom, vocation, and body maintenance. The 10th is an attitude that enhances the effectiveness of the first nine.By focusing on these 10 key components to happiness, Ward empowers his readers to map out their personal pathway to pleasure, joy, pride, gratitude, and other positive emotions. The route Ward lays out is simple. It just requires a willingness to follow each conviction the book prompts, to dedicate the effort necessary to change. Those who do will discover an inexhaustible well of happiness.

- Todavía podemos salir a comer? - Recetas y recursos
