  • - A New Way to Enjoy Marathoning!
    av John Timmerman
    179,-

Marathon and Half Marathon Training, One-Day-a-Week (It Can Be Done) describes a two-year running challenge completed by the author. The challenge was to determine if someone could successfully complete multiple marathons and half marathons during a two-year timeframe while training only one day per week. Learn if this training method might right for you and how the author came up with this idea and why. This book reveals how the author determined that marathon and half marathon training one-day-a-week is probably viable for many runners by going out and doing it over a two-year timeframe. It describes the author's varying experiments throughout with weekly mileage amounts and what the effects were physically, and during actual races. There are descriptions of the author's experiences during the races completed during this timeframe and impressions of previous races he has completed. There is practical advice from an experienced marathon and half marathon runner for those who have never completed one or either race distances. If you are not a marathon of half marathon runner, or are new to this type of running, there is also advice for how to strategize training for, and completing a race. If you enjoy running non-competitively, are otherwise fit, and have limited time to train extensively for a marathon or half marathon, this book might be for you. Even if you are not a runner in any way and are simply curious about what a marathon runner's life is like, you also might enjoy this book.

Guys, ever wonder how women think…Why they act the way they do?...Why they say the things they say?...Why they may sometimes seem to be, or are, unpredictable? Well, this booklet explains at least some of their thinking and behavior and its impact on our relationships with them. The booklet includes three major parts that form its framework and are based upon my clinical education and service, and life experiences:1). Background (things to keep in mind - especially for men - when using this booklet)2). Observations (a blend of specific areas and issues of behaviors and gender differences that can be of importance in building and maintaining relationships) 3) Suggestions (things that might be important to your woman when sharing a home and family life).Once you have read through and become familiar with its content, you should give it to your woman and ask that she carefully read and evaluate the importance of each item in the Observation and Suggestion sections. For each item she will have the opportunity to rate its level of importance for her, using a four point scale, and add notes to personalize her responses. Also, space has been provided for your woman to add her own observations and suggestions that have not been included in the booklet. When she has finished her review she should return her completed booklet to you to read through and become familiar with her responses. Then, the two of you should sit together where you will not be disturbed and carefully review her responses and clarify any issues or concerns that either of you may have. The stage is now set for the two of you to share how you might best provide those considerations and behaviors she needs to feel like a woman who is totally loved and appreciated. You will now have intimate knowledge and insight to guide you in providing it for her. This is not necessarily a "one-way street"…this process can easily include considerations and behaviors you need to feel like a man who is totally loved and appreciated! My intention in compiling these things in booklet form is to provide a tool for a better understanding of - and communication with - your woman. This tool's primary function is to provide a structured frame of reference for discussing mutual expectations, perceptions, common issues, and possible misunderstandings that we men and our women may experience in a relationship from time to time. It is not intended to provide a full or complete review of those things but is intended to serve as a starting place for discussion. It is my hope that all users of the booklet will find it to be easy to read, easy to understand, and easy to use in establishing, maintaining, repairing and/or improving a long-term loving relationship.

When Jo Ann Pierce began her career in education, immersion in the classroom experience seemed like enough of a challenge-balancing the demands of family life as a wife and mother with the steep learning curve of mentoring and nurturing students was as much as she thought she could handle. But as she learned to trust her goat-like sense of balance on uneven terrain, she realized she could see a summit above her, and that it was within reach. Could she trust that God had a special plan to help her discover her gifts of leadership? Bit by bit, her vision emerged; this powerful memoir shares her upward climb as a "wannabe" principal, with successes and failures, personal notes and memories. Deeply personal yet universal not only to teachers and principals, but all leaders, this book illuminates the heart of Dr. Pierce's quest to find her best self, for the service and benefit of others. Let her inspire you to recognize the mountain of love in your own life-and take courage from her journey to climb upward to your pinnacle.

  • - Revealing Paul's "Man of Sin"
    av Ian R Harvey
    299,-

What really happened in Eden? What are the implications of the Fall of Adam and Eve? These questions and more deserve answers. By believing God at face value and choosing to disbelieve every phrase from Satan, we find substantive, scriptural answers to the following and more:Did God intend our First Parents to disobey His commandment? Was there "no other way"?God is "in charge" only insofar as He gave us, His children, the moral agency to choose our own path, to act according to our own choices and to fully own and experience the natural consequences of those choices. He stands by to offer hope, rescue, relief, comfort, healing and Eternal Life. God's great plan is for His children to individually and freely own options and to make choices-to choose life and eternal joy because we also legitimately have the option to fall. Betraying God in favor of believing the Liar is to choose and experience the opposite of God's joy: sorrow, suffering, misery and death. Yes, there was another path to His joy, the details of which are lost to us. Now, because of our First Parents, the only relevant way is the "way, the truth, and the life" who is our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. What did Jesus really expect from us when He commanded us to be perfect?Perfection is not what is often imagined, nor is it as unattainable. This book suggests that Jesus's command for us to be perfect was the same expectation that His Father had for Jesus to be perfect. In other words, Jesus must be perfectly loyal to His Father and never become subservient to the will of His eternal adversary. Therefore, His expectation for us to be perfect has nothing to do with meeting the random expectations of spouse, friends, children, parents, neighbors, church leaders, or anyone else. All it means is to be perfectly loyal to God and never to heed the words of the adversary. Perfection is very simply never to betray God by listening or hearkening to the devil--what God expected from our first parents. That's also what Jesus did, and it's readily within our own reach.I invite you to read the book for satisfying evidence that exalting experiences of challenge, opposition and even recovery from failure can all lead to lasting happiness and ultimate joy. None of this is available from the fallen actions of betrayal and sin, except by changing our perceptions to be in alignment with God's thinking and will-repentance.All Christians will benefit from this book that will liberate and lift spirits, exalt souls, and bring the pure truth of God to the context that He expressed in primary source scripture. The intent of this book is to open a conversation that will ultimately help shift the LDS perspective on the Fall, understand a God who was and is righteous from eternity to all eternity, then dignify and ennoble Jesus's atoning power. In the process, Lucifer's lying words are publicly exposed as "on the housetops" and flayed by the scriptural words of Life. (Author's proceeds go to OURrescue.org)

  • - Angels and Demons
    av Jim Higginbotham
    285,-

This is an unusual book based on Bible characters such as angels and demons, adventure, and drama. It is for children and their parents. I wrote it as I dreamed it. The object is to communicate the reality of God's word but in a different context that intends the youth to enjoy while hearing Biblical truth. I would have loved for my mom to have given a drama story like this to me when I was young and I will give this book to my children. The story is a trip back in time to my grandfather's old home place like we, as a family used to do and recall the fun we all had. It is a story told like granddad sitting around a camp fire telling about a trip he made long, long, ago when he encountered demons and angels, really? Then he would continue with wide eyes with a yes and tell how his dad had an angel as a friend. Some people, he would say, believed in angels and angels that were unaware to people. Some believed in demons since they were in the Holy Bible. Now some think they may have met an angel that was unaware as an angel. Some even maybe a demon or at least an unaware one. Demons love to be unaware because they are more effective that way. In fact, they prefer you don't even believe they exist. This would be a great advantage to them and their goal. That said, they still have their limitations in that they were angels, but now fallen. Since they are now confined to earth and are limited, they are very real and powerful. One is self-proclaimed prince of the earth, which is of course the top one, Satan. Ralph's Angel, let's call him Jay since Ralph always did, was almost lost in time. Many years had passed when I, Ralph's great grandson and Mike, my cousin and good buddy that I called my cowboy cousin, decided to take a trip back to Ralph's old home place lost in some old forest in the next state. He had lived there some eighty or so years ago. Stories of this old three-story mansion setting on over a hundred acres were fading. So, it seemed realistic

Online dating should be an exciting and enjoyable experience, and as you will read, for some folks it was, but for others, it was a disaster. All of these stories are from the heart, and I have gone through it all so that, hopefully, my readers can avoid heartache and scams. The phrase "Take it from someone who's been there" sums it up pretty well! My journey with online dating continues...

A caveat is in order. This is not another feel-good, self-help book, containing the usual platitudes, cliché truisms, and banal commonplace mantras, that have come to characterize, and even caricature, the self-help genre of writing. This is a book of action. Contained herein, are the working tools necessary to take the helm of one''s own mind. In this age of information inundation and pervasive social media distraction, misinformation and disinformation abound. Critical thinking is rare. Groupthink rules. This has not always been the case. Only a generation ago, eminent men, such as Napoleon Hill and Earl Nightingale, were expounding upon the idea of taking the helm of one''s own mind, with usual regularity, on the mediums of both television and radio. This book reintroduces, and demystifies, that concept to this generation. Not a moment too soon. Contained herein, is the framework for the development of your own Personal Strategic Life Plan (PSLP). Remember, that the magic begins through action. Wake up with the sun.

New friendships, trips, and tips all happen when you combine tables and chairs and people and energy. The first and most difficult thing we must do is decide the shape, size, texture, and scope of our tabletop. This is where the bread and wine will sit. This is where the sound of our stories will reverberate as we share and listen. This is where our elbows will rest as we lean in to one another. As more and more children spend much of their time indoors, this book takes them on a magical adventure outdoors. It all begins on a warm spring day when Miss Susan decides to take her class outside to read under the giant Beech tree on the edge of the school grounds. Some of them even climb up into the tree to read. Their schoolyard is like many others - very plain; expanses of grass with an occasional tree, some evergreen shrubs and asphalt playgrounds. The children enjoy reading outside so much, they begin to do this whenever there is a nice day. She teaches them how, when she was a girl, they used to look at the puffy clouds and find shapes. Then one day, a very unusual, very large butterfly comes to their tree and catches their attention by landing on Rashelle's nose and fluttering between the children until finally landing on Miss Susan's head. Ezra snaps a picture with Miss Susan's iPhone. They want to know more about this butterfly, but no one they show the picture to has any answers, not even the professors at the university. Upon the advice of Mr. Sam, the oldest and wisest person in town who smiles when asked about this butterfly, they decide to follow it and see where it goes... What they discover is the beauty and magic of the nearby forest that had been forgotten for decades as children now spent all their time indoors. That the butterfly is not what it seemed. It is really Miss Zena, the magical guardian of the forest. She had chosen this class of children to make a difference for their school. They learn how to plan and create that same beauty they discovered in the forest on their school grounds. Principal Shannon and Miss Susan invite the whole school to assist Miss Susan's students to create this magical nature space "The Enchanted Garden". They work hard and the children learn that they really do have the power to make a difference around them.
