Although I was not by your side beautiful niece but I imagine that little hand writing your story and even more the series of feelings that you have caused ... longing, sadness, passion, tenacity, courage. I thank infinitely all the people who offered you their hand and helped you in your adventure called “LIFE.” And as JOAN MANUEL says in the song …(From ANTONIO MACHADO Poem)“Walker, there is no path,The path is made by walkingWhen walking, it makes its wayAnd when you look backYou see the path that neverIt has to be stepped on again”(Now I understand why each chapter you accompanied the title of a song) With deep love I see that taste for the music that I inherited to you, that opens paths for you, that inspires you, that transports you and that keeps you alive. From here I cheer for your success that I embrace it as mine. – Your aunt Angelina“The writer writes his book to explain himself what can not be explained” – Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014)

The populous people of Bokoko form the most dominant maritime coastal dwellers of Docoland. There, in the abyssal most depths of the boundless, whispering ocean around them, some strongly believe, dwelleth the entire hierarchical firmament of their gods, goddesses, deities, nymphs, and other immortals. Some say according to the idyllic allegory of the people along this massive belt, that during the tempestuous upwelling and swelling high tides, some of these immortal beings, at times emerged in human form from their endless ocean. They got associated with the locals and married mostly the adorable daughters and sons of Bokoko thus producing land nymphs, generally but locally referred to as, "Iban-ndem". They are known to be avid travelers who all possess sugar coated tongues. In their vagrant existence, they inter-related with humans of foreign and far afield pangaea. In that mix, most got married and spread everywhere around the globe as infectiously charming, and captivating wandering stars. By happenstance, some of the luscious peripatetic nymphs, easily recognized Yakmbado, the popular youthful vivacious royal, who also hailed from that ancient city of Bokoko. Four such nymphs readily and independently got attached to him, and each had a real unique time, live encounter with Yakmbado.Eventually, the williwaw and other tempestuous onslaughts had come and quietened. Yakmbado remained calm, stoically undaunted and was the one to gain all, by losing them all, and wishing them all Adios and Farewell!

Pre-Historic Obama Migration: Creole Louisiana ZydecoAn examination of the grammatical structure of Ancient Egyptian provides clues to the grammatical structure of Proto-African and all of its descendant languages. This volume, entitled Creole Country, gives a unique account of the languages called Creoles and Pidgins, their history and origins based in Africa human cognition, by an author who is a resident speaker of Louisiana English Creole (LCE). A native of New Iberia of Hot Sauce fame, Merelyn Bates-Mims is a descendant of slaves, her Papa Ed Bates, born in 1860s Virginia, being a force in her early years. Concerning the “I be” common to the regions and peoples of her birth, the quest for identifying the protolithic cognition, the DNA of such languages, became the focus of her doctoral research. This book on linguistics is exceptional in that it renders a full scope of the culture, language, and history that encompasses the proposition called ‘creole’. The Fulbright Research award provided the support for proving her thesis, ultimately revealing Ancient Egyptian as the 'proto' imprint of inter-continental creoles, pidgins, and Black English.

Joel Fry's poems chart a deeply interior quest. Though the object is predictable-understanding, love, friendship, hope-the poems are highly original. Deep within, where external and internal landscape merge, where easy solutions like monetary success and comfortable suburbia go down before a sharp irony, we meet fleeting memories of a childhood farm, a creek beside which boys played, rare moments of love where a couple sits on a porch. We also meet loneliness, despair, glimpses of truth, and a pervasive joy in the act of creation. The poems are disciplined, intuitive, paradoxical, richly imagined-repaying, over and over, the attention and agility required of those who would follow the poet. Fry leaves us "poised on the edge of a mystery / [we] cannot command, a chorus [we] cannot escape." Harry Moore, author of Time's Fool and Bearing the Farm Away

Toilet Paper: Little four-year-old Mayson screamed for my daughter Amy to come and wipe his butt after he pooped. Amy said, "Mayson you're four years old. You can wipe your own butt!" She asked, "What do you do when you're at school and poop?" Little Mayson said. "Nothing! I just get shit in my pants!!" Razor: I was in the shower and I grabbed my razor to shave. I looked at it and it was full of hair a lot of hair! I jumped out of the shower soaking wet and confronted my husband about my razor. My husband pleaded the "It wasn't me" scenario! I said; "We don't have any hairy damn ghosts living in this house!" I pushed his head back with one hand and held my hairy razor to his face with my other hand. He screamed; "What? Are you doing?" I said; "I'm matching this hair up to what's left of your beard! If I find out this is your BALL hair I'm going to cut you with this hairy razor!!"

Why did she do it? What on earth got into her and, the biggest question was, will she go through with it? All these questions, and more were racing through Elizabeth Ann Holden's mind. Just because she found an advertisement in a magazine, didn't mean "she" had to answer it, but she did! It appeared there were more men in America than woman and the advertisement was for women. Dear Lord, now who in their right mind would inquire about such a thing? Well, Elizabeth did and now she is about to take a journey that she never expected.Living in London, England, Elizabeth thought she had a pretty full life. She is in her late twenties, works in a textile mill, has her own small apartment and she has a great friend, Colleen, so why did she send in her responses to this advertisement? She thought long and hard about the prospect of her becoming a "bride" to a man she only knew through letters. Even though her life looks like a great one, it is an empty one. There is no excitement, no expectations about anything and mostly, there is no man. Yes, London is a huge city, full of men, but Elizabeth is, well, too picky. She is pretty, smart, caring and all that but she just doesn't care about fancy living, and that is all the men around her care about.Elizabeth would read the letters from a man in Louisiana over and over. His name was Clayton Michael Richardson, a cotton farmer. Good grief, she laughed to herself when she thought about the difference between the men around her in this big city and a cotton farmer, but that cotton farmer was what she soon fell in love with. After many months of letters, a proposal was offered. Elizabeth could hardly believe the words when she read them. Marriage! Would she go to Louisiana? Travel on a ship that would sail for weeks before docking in New Orleans. Yes, yes, she would. With a long journey in front of her, and she never having been on a ship, she asked if she could bring her best friend, Colleen. Soon there was a return letter with two tickets. Colleen graciously stating that she would love to go, made that "going" a little easier. Ok, so now all they had to do was go on that ship the "Merchant Knight", find their sleeping arrangements and enjoy the sail. How hard would that be?These two young ladies will soon find out that "enjoy the sail" would not be what they would be doing. They would see, for their very first time, a pirate. Yes, in the year 1845, pirates still roamed around the seas looking for ships to board and steal any cargo that ship carried. They would know firsthand how terrifying a thing called a "hurricane" could be out in the ocean. They would see up close, too close, what a Brothel was and what it meant to them. Elizabeth and Colleen would sail on two different ships and dock in places like Ocracoke Island, and Christian Bay. Their lives will come face to face with a Voodoo Queen, some called her a witch doctor. Oh, yes and there is so much more these two will face. Do you think that in all this journey they might have wondered if they should have gotten off the "Merchant Knight" before it sailed? This journey turned from something that the ladies thought would bring great joy to their lives, but shortly, once out at sea, it became a cursed journey of darkness. Will Elizabeth ever see her farmer, Clayton? Come on the journey and see for yourself.

At first sight, London, Maine seems to Bill Williams the perfect place to retire to. "Life the way it's supposed to be," as the brochures say, face to face with the calm and beautiful London Lake, surrounded by deep, whispering pine forests and the stark backdrop of bare granite hills. It's even a great place for dogs, with trails to follow everywhere through the woods and a great dog park right in the center of town where they can all run and play together. And the people are friendly too, though they do tend to gossip - particularly Andy Basset, another retiree, who is obsessed by the mystery of events that occurred seventeen years before at a high school graduation that still casts a shadow over the lives of the London members of the class. But Bill has had years of experience in ignoring idle gossip, and he sees no reason why London's variety should receive any more attention. Then someone starts killing the local dogs, and life in London quickly turns from idyll to nightmare, a nightmare, Bill begins to suspect, that arose somehow from whatever really did happen at that high school graduation so many years before. And he becomes ever more certain that the person responsible for the horror is one of his new neighbors and acquaintances. But which one? It could be any of them: Eleanor Bird, the village tyrant, who collects other people's secrets and exploits them ruthlessly; her son Eddy, a preoccupied country realtor who, people say, isn't at all as simple as he seems; Roy Emory, once the boy genius who went off to college and wound up in jail on drug charges and now lives as a hermit back in the London woods; his parents, Charlie and Kristin, who are afraid of him and struggling over a failing business; Rosie Brig, a subservient school teacher who becomes infatuated with the wrong men, first Roy Emory and then Sean Winder, the high school hero who gave up on college to run his father's general store and marry the shy and self-effacing Patricia instead of his fiancée Rachel Morgan, who, recently widowed, has returned to London to claim him; or Linc Mundy, owner of the local garage and a professed dog hater. Bill has a terrible feeling that, if the truth isn't discovered soon, things could get a lot worse. And then people start to die....

1905 Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany broods over a comment his cousin King George V of Britain has made, a boast that his fleet is the largest and most advanced in the world. In a fit if jealousy he commissions the construction of a secret base to be located off South America. A secret naval base is constructed 200 miles off French Guyana as an industrial waste disposal site built by a firm based out of Columbia. The submarines based there wreak havoc upon the sea lane during WWI only their contribution does not contribute victory. The base is sealed, and the crews sworn to secrecy on pain of death. Hitler comes to power and is made aware of the islands existence and it is recommissioned, and submarines are deployed to the island in the mid-1930s where they get ready for war. War breaks out and again the U-boats wreak havoc on the sea lanes. The war goes badly, and their contribution is not sufficient to turn the tide. The SS then takes command of the base and begins to ship tons of looted bullion from occupied countries to the base, ostensibly to fund a South American Front. The reality is to fund Nazi leaders lives in hiding when they begin to flee Europe and relocate to South America to escape the noose that awaits most of them. Only the SS General in command of the island in the last months of the war is determined to start a South American front. When he discovers the truth that it was all for nothing...he kills the Kriegsmarine Crew and then he and his SS command each vow to avenge Adolf Hitler by sealing the base and committing suicide to keep the bullion away from those he deemed traitors to his cause and that of Adolf Hitler.75 years later on the same island a world-weary man arrives with his career and personal life in shambles; he has discovered his wife is having a rather heated affair with an attorney. Something he discovered when his wife accidentally calls home while she is with 'him'.He loves her so instead of kicking her to the curb he allows her to continue seeing him on the condition she keeps it discrete. His motivation while unconventional is meant to keep his children's lives undisrupted. He then takes a vacation he cannot afford to sort out his life, if possible. Vacationing in a run-down, cheap resort in a shark-infested bungalow, he goes exploring against the advice of a local preacher who isn't really a preacher at all but a former British deep-cover agent with a secret he shares with a former SS officer. He discovers the secret in a near accident; a secret that spans a century, beginning in a darkened chamber of the Kaisers palace to a dank bunker in war-torn Berlin and ending in a musty church where the Odessa Legacy is reawakened...A secret that latter day Nazis are near to discovering themselves.

At almost fourteen, Alexis Fain and her younger siblings, George and Baby Sally, have traveled the world with their parents, Sgt 1st Class Jesse Fain and their Mother, Rachel. This time, US Army orders sent the young Sergeant and his family to an Army Post in rural Louisiana during the onset of the Civil rights movement. The children find themselves to be outsiders, outcasts in a small town school where new students are rare enough, but new students with Yankee accents are a new experience entirely. Alexis or Alex as she is called, being the oldest struggles the most. She is happiest at her grandparents' farm in central Washington state, where she helps her grandfather with the animals and learns the art of horsemanship. Horses are her passion. And on a sergeant's salary a seeming impossibility. The children meet an old couple descended from slaves who live just down the road from them. Despite the dangers of being associated with whites in that era, especially the children, Abraham and Seraphina befriend the children and provide them with the unconditional friendship and support they so badly need. However, the landlord who rents the old farmstead to the military family, is not what he seems. He presents a greater danger to the young sergeant's family than any war he has ever been sent to. In this moving coming of age story, a military family much like many other military families who must deal with absentee husbands and fathers, alcoholism, and domestic abuse, must find a special strength and a new perspective to survive. Young parents must grow up. Children must escape a predator. And due to the courageous action of a very unexpected hero, a young girl survives an act of unimaginable violence.

  • - A Look Into the Quirky Ways Life Can Shape Us
    av Marie Whitson
    249

Marie is a small-town girl with a passion for life. She has always had a quirky way of handling events and moments in her life that can be downright heartbreaking, pretty quizzical and outwardly hysterical! The best and most interesting part of her journey is how it ALWAYS goes back to her faith in God. Moments of sheer heartbreak when she felt God was standing on the sidelines, to moments she really questioned why God was allowing the brokenness to continually follow her, to her praising God for NOT listening to her during her stubborn refusal to see it His way and do I on her own, to pure joy and extreme happiness for answered prayers. Between her family and working with the public all her life and being an Instructor in a beauty school, it has provided her with many good stories and unusual reactions. Through biblical references and diligent prayer to always being an "investigator" of references on the internet, Marie gives a true to the heart view of how life can shape us through events... good, bad..or anything in between. A great afternoon read for a bit of hope for those wondering if God really hears them - and Marie can tell you, It is ALWAYS the perfect answer at the PERFECT time.

A coming-of-age story set in the mid-sixties, revolving around young John Terry, one of seven siblings in an Irish Catholic family growing up in the seaside village of Northport, nestled on the north shore of Long Island, NYYoung John's world was chock full of crazy relatives, wonderful family friends, scary neighbors, the Catholic Church, those damn Kennedys, a midget, a spider monkey, girls, the beautiful village and town docks of Northport and the horrifying murder that shocked his small town to its core and sent his family into a tailspin. In the summer of 1965 Northport was a time-forgotten, seaside hamlet about 50 miles due east of New York City. The Vietnam War was starting to rage, drugs, rock music and the hippie movement were all in full swing. Northport, however, was still a small village, seemingly insulated from the outside world where most families knew each other and many fathers either worked on the water or broke their backs at Steers Sand and Gravel. It was a town where parents never thought twice about letting their young kids run wild for hours outside, playing together or fishing down at the town docks. It was a town where all the Main Street merchants knew you by your first name and you were taught at an early age that you could count on any of them to help you if you got yourself into a jam.Northport was a wonderful, special world for a young boy to grow up in but as usual, life had a way of throwing John a few curveballs. One such curveball was a horrific murder that hit way too close to home. These are his stories of Murder On Lewis Road and Growing Up Northport.

  • - 10 Roadblocks You Must Overcome To Create a Business with Enduring Value
    av Michael Mitchell
    285,-

Through thorough analysis and example, Michael Mitchell, Virginia's #1 Trusted Authority on business growth identifies the 10 roadblocks that keep most businesses from growing into a powerhouse business with enduring value, and what you can do to clear those roadblocks and avoid the pitfalls. Many businesses make it into the Growth Zone of $1M - $25M revenue only to fall out a short time later while others enter and quickly plateau. When that happens, you can feel as though every day is the same long uphill climb. There is never enough time in the day, employees don't care about the business the way you do, your team has become complacent, and you have become frustrated because no matter what you try you can't seem to keep your business growing. This book is about growing a business with enduring value once you are in the Growth Zone. Growing means growing your revenue, growing your earnings, growing your employees, growing yourself as a leader, putting in the appropriate infrastructure, and generally becoming a more sophisticated business that can compete with the industry leaders in your market. Enduring value means that you have options when you are ready to exit your business. You can cash out, pass it on to family, or continue to be involved in your business without day to day responsibility. The Ignition Zone Not every business will grapple with the three roadblocks outlined in the Ignition Zone ($1M to $5M), but most will. Clearing these roadblocks is fundamental to growth because it is when you are in the Ignition Zone that you lay the foundation that allows future growth to occur in a smooth and organized fashion. Think of this zone as igniting the main engines of your business. If the engines are not running properly, you will not achieve Lift-Off. You will be stuck on the ground and may fall out of the Growth Zone altogether. The Lift-Off Zone When you first enter the Lift-Off Zone ($5M to $15M) any lingering roadblocks from the Ignition Zone must be cleared quickly, or they will cause major problems as your business continues to grow. Your business is now growing rapidly and there are 4 big roadblocks on your horizon. These roadblocks will stop your business in its tracks and you will be pushed to the limits of your knowledge and capability to remove them. But deal with them effectively and you will build a business with enduring value. Your business will become a powerhouse in your chosen market and your reputation in the business community will grow along with your business. When you decide to exit your business, you will have options and you will be able to achieve all your exit goals. Navigate this zone adeptly and you will be ready to fire your booster rockets and enter the Acceleration Zone ($15 to $25M).The Acceleration Zone The Acceleration Zone is entered into by only a small fraction of all businesses, but that needn't be the case. If you have knocked aside the roadblocks leading up to the Acceleration Zone, you are ready to clear away the final few obstacles that can keep you from creating a regional or national powerhouse. Once those final roadblocks are cleared away, your business will be limited only by your own ambitions.
