  • - A Jon Levine Novel
    av Thomas Austin Brill
    265,-

The intercept message announced, "This line has been disconnected." He tried twice more. The result was the same. Levine thought back to Albert Einstein''s famous quote, The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Jon Levine, a Florida-based investment manager, and Dr. Alyssa Martin, his life partner, are unable to contact their friend, Matthew Johnson, an FBI agent who once tapped them for help in his cases. Failing to reach him by phone, they decide to fly to New York to visit him. There they discover there is no record of his ever having owned the apartment they once visited him in, now inhabited by a couple who claim to have lived there for twelve years. Subsequently, they receive a frightening call from an untraceable number, suggesting they stay out of Matthew''s disappearance and instead worry about their own health. The latest in the series of Levine and Alyssa''s escapades, Mexican Game acquaints us with two new remarkable and unorthodox characters: Trey Wilson, an FBI mole who has infiltrated the largest Mexican cocaine cartel, and Michael Dawson, Matthew Johnson''s young trainee. Together they orchestrate an elaborate and dangerous plan to avenge Matthew Johnson while decapitating the cartel. As with other Levine adventures, only one rule holds: Expect the unexpected.

  • - The Trans-Sufi Teachings of Master Uthman ibn ar-Rum
av Venerable Zen Master Vajra Karuna
    399,-

What is Uthmaniyya or Trans-Sufism?There is an ultimate spiritual experience called the consciousness of the Eternal Now or Sitting on the tripod *Throne of God.  This experience is not dependent on any kind of past sexist, ethically, and logically problematic anthropomorphic transcendental theism (Human-like God) of Judaism, Christianity, or Islam.  It is realized through observing a new mathematically mystical (esoteric), not theological, version of the seventh day (the throne Sabbath) that is more compatible with a belief in God as everything and everything as *God (pantheism). Since God as everything cannot have an anthropomorphic (exoteric human-like personhood) it is referred to as God without personhood (an impersonal God) or the Godless God.This third or throne Sabbath is based on a radical reinterpretation of the biblical and qur’anic myth of the creation of the world in six days and a seventh day when the “mythic” anthropomorphic Creator rested (Bible) or retreated to His throne (Qur’an).

  • av Linda Joy Orber
    235,-

Linda Joy Orber as a girl growing up, was raised in a household that practiced Conservative Judaism. In fact her great grandfather was an Orthodox Rabbi. Her grandmother therefore, observed all the Jewish holidays and rituals. Grandma however, never permitted the name "Jesus" be spoken in her presence. Grandma felt it to be to be a betrayal of her Jewish traditions. Many years later with a family of her own, and practicing as a psychoanalyst, Linda was astonished to have recurring dreams of Jesus. This began a truly unique relationship for her. One that her grandmother taught her to be forbidden. It took a physical crisis in which she almost died, for that relationship to transform into something far deeper than she could have ever imagined. As she listened in stillness to His loving words, her body began to stabilize and her heart began to heal. The inspiring messages she has been given, are shared to transform and heal others. They are words of love, compassion, healing and hope. They are meant for the reader to absolutely know, that they too are profoundly and deeply cherished.

    av Carolyn Schwartz

In AS I LOOK AROUND, the author shares milestones and memories of subjects close to her heart-family, friends, travels and traditions; makes observations about her past and present life experiences; then lets her fancy take hold by fabricating a few fictional short stories just for fun.

  • - Tales of Mirror Lake
    av Gretchen Blanchard
    159,-

When Betty Bicknell, a long-time resident of Mirror lake died, almost the entire population of Mirror Lake (and more)  gathered to celebrate her long and lively life. One after another, people came to the podium to relate a story about Betty.  As the service went on, it was clear that the lives everyone around the lake were intertwined in one way or another. Betty spearheaded the Fireflies, she baby sat for the Jones boys, she made beautiful  bouquets for another’s wedding, served Hot Buttered Rums for the Christmas Boat Parade. From the early forties when young families began populating the heavily forested area around the lake, with hardly any roads to speak of, to the 1990’s, when Federal Way became a full-fledged city, the people of Mirror Lake shared an uncommonly close community that continues to this day. Here are some stories of those early days.

  • - Sequel to Children of the Gods
    av Konrad Koenigsmann
    285,-

TIME DULLS EVEN THE MOST POTENT OF MEMORIES...In this third book of the trilogy, six years have passed since the cataclysmic series of events culminating in Pierre Hartford''s victory over the Entity and the formation of a new realm. New Earth is a thriving planet, an idealized conception of Pierre''s old home. Pierre in particular seems quite well-adjusted to his new lifestyle...perhaps almost too well-adjusted. When his world is once more turned on its head and he is again thrust into the center of events, Pierre is caught off-guard, afraid and confused, and faced with a series of foes the likes of which he has never encountered before. Surrounded by enemies and left with only a few allies, Pierre must come to terms with his divisive past and quickly adapt to his new situation. For this is an enemy unseen and unheard, striking only from the shadows, with a name spoken only in hushed tones. And as events spiral towards their seemingly inevitable conclusion, Pierre will come face-to-face with the most terrible choice of all. Can Pierre still prevail in the face of overwhelming odds? Or has he finally met his match?

  • - Bystander Glimpses of Jesus
    av Chijioke Ndunaga
    249

A collection of short stories, the book is a retelling of the accounts of the gospels from the viewpoint of eyewitnesses, with fictitious backstories to fill in gaps.Using the literary genres of prose and free verse, it tells the story of first-century Palestine as recorded in the first four books of the New Testament. It shows the emotions of the actors, making them relatable as not just some other-worldly personae. It captures their fears, hopes, expectations, and doubts.Relive the story of Simon as he returns from the barley fields surrounding Jerusalem. On what should have been an ordinary day, he ends up carrying the cross of a rabbi sentenced to death by the Roman governor. See how the heart of Jericho’s chief tax officer changes after a simple conversation and follow Jairus as he runs around the streets of his city, seeking help for his little daughter, who lies in agonizing sickness at home.Though told in different voices and by various actors, the central theme of the stories is clear. They portray Jesus of Nazareth as both a humble teacher, approachable by peasants and little children, and the master of nature who can command spirits and inanimate objects to do his bidding.

    av Lisa A Romano

If you are the adult child of an alcoholic, or have been raised by narcissistic or emotionally immature parents, your childhood conditioning may have programmed you to believe you are unworthy, incapable, and or not enough. Learn how raising your awareness of subconscious patterns can help you heal your life. The Codependency Manifesto: Clearing the Way Out of the Codependent Mind blends science, psychology, and spirituality to approach healing and wellness from a wholistic approach. • - A Trilogy
    av REV Khoat Van Tran
    285,-

Rev. Khoat Van Tran's third trilogy to prepare us for the True New Time on Earth is entitled "Catholic Peace."  "Catholic Peace" explores the various types of peace we can experience in God The Father's True New Time on Earth:  Human Peace, Divine Peace, and the various aspects of political, social, relational, natural, spiritual, religious, internal, personal, and eternal peace.  Rev. Tran's first trilogy, "Catholic Manifesto," lays the spiritual foundation for God's Kingdom on Earth, known in the True New Time as the "Glorious Reign of Peace."  Peace is a fruit of Justice, and the implementation of this Justice on Earth is discussed in Rev. Tran's second trilogy, "Catholic Revolution," which paves the way for "Catholic Peace" here, the third trilogy for God The Father's True New Time on Earth.Have you ever wondered what the people of the Old Testament knew in advance about Jesus and His life on Earth?  In Catholic Peace, Rev. Khoat Tran matches the foreknowledge of the Old Testament with the corresponding fulfilling passages of the New Testament regarding the Incarnation, Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Jesus.  Finally, Rev. Tran discusses the roles of Our Blessed Mother Mary in Heaven as Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate.  He references the Virgin Mary’s “ripe fall of Newton’s apple” pertaining to Her Assumption into Heaven as something to be studied by all of us on Earth.  This book gives an intensive study of Our Lady’s character and virtues so that we can understand and appreciate Her triumph of the Glorious Reign of Peace on Earth coming soon in the True New Time.  This book prepares all of us in the faith we need to embrace this True New Time.

This is a story of two successful young people and the action, sex, romance, and violence that occurred in the fall of 2028. It takes place against the backdrop of an effort to form a new soccer league in America. One of the main characters, Michael Reed, grew up in Dallas and had become a successful lawyer who specialized in Sports Law. In a unique series of events he winds up right in the middle of the struggle to develop what amounted to a new sport out of a game that had changed very little in several hundred years. A group of avid soccer fans formed a group to change a rule that, in the past, had limited the scoring in soccer and caused many tie games. The resulting problems of the new league and its path to success form the backdrop to the story of the torrid relationship between the two main characters. The other main character is Allison Torres, a young twenty seven year old girl from San Antonio who was a hostess on the new bullet train running from Houston to Chicago, through Dallas. She happens to be on the train that is taking Michael and his friends from Chicago to Dallas after the years'' first soccer match. She is a most unusual girl in many respects and Michael is taken by her. Their chance meeting on the train begins the events that form the basis of their story. Their lives seem to be charmed until they become the targets of a mob who were apparently hired to intimidate Michael from pursuing the new league. Her willingness to not be bullied into backing down from the challenges they encounter make her the hero of the story in many respects. The Crossfire they encounter in the last chapter brings to a close this phase of their lives together.

  • - My Brief Autobiography and Testimony
    av Jerad P Bisson
    309,-

If there is one thing that God has taught me it''s that we shouldn''t dwell on the past. It is behind us and what is ahead of us we can change. My life has been an example of Gods Mercy and Love. If it were not for Christ I would have never known that I was meant for a greater purpose than struggling to get through each day. That my purpose was enveloped in His love and held in His hands as well as mine. Without purpose we tend to feel empty and lost. This is because we have been designed in such a way that we were meant to serve God. However for many of us who have not had an encounter with Jesus we tend to serve other things or people and make those things our God. This becomes a disordered sense of purpose leaving us empty and dry. This little book is a mere snapshot of my conversion story and my life in a nutshell. The book is small because not much is meant to be said about me. However there is much to be said about God and this little book is only my testimony and my other books are my tribute to God. For without Christ I had no life, for I discovered myself through Him, brought to Him by His Mother and Mine. My life has had great sorrow and great joy but most interesting of all is the many mystical experiences I have shared with Jesus and Mary and my guardian angel, those you may find interesting. So I thought that I would tell my story in my own words, as unbelievable as it may seem. It still happened to me and because of God''s love and Mercy I was rescued from the sins and demons of my past. This world is only a glimpse of time and we are in the midst of it and our lives are but blooming for an even shorter moment. There is a much grander spiritual world to see and it''s not as far away as you may think.

  • - Memoir of a Soul Rescued by Grace
    av Don Truman Wilson
    235,-

Don Truman Wilson tells well here his personal story of coming to grips with the conflict between his once-loved Pentecostal Christianity and his once-latent homosexuality. Attempted suicide was the turning point. No longer a closeted gay man, neither is he a gay activist.Beginning in the early 1980s, Don attempted to mold his life into the “ex-gay” philosophy of religious asceticism, by prayer and fasting. He often browbeat himself to the point where he was afraid he would go one sin too far and be cast into Hell. Once in desperation, he called upon an elderly couple who were supposedly experienced in matters of demonic deliverance, in hopes their prayer of deliverance could rid him of the “spirit of homosexuality,” as they called it. All to no avail.Though Don’s faith would be severely tested over the years, he never lost faith in his Savior and his God. The chief desire of Don’s heart is to model Psalm 42:1, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God.”Like most of the rest of us, Don would like to get on with his life, accepted if not celebrated, being both loved and loving. As he has changed from a timid child to a confident man, Don has learned much, and the reader will share in that education. One sage remarked on the value of learning from mistakes, preferably those made by others, mistakes like Don’s ill-considered marriage to a much older woman who wanted to “make a man” of him, but not a gay man.You will come away from reading this book with an enhanced understanding of the conflict between certain Christian denominations and their homosexual members. You will admire the transition of the author from insecure to secure, from puzzled to aware. We are instructed to love our neighbors. Well, some of our neighbors are gay, and we are to love them, too…platonically, at least.

  • - The Story of Our Future's Past
    av Craig Baldwin
    605

Punk, Slick, Dumpy, and Sweet—as they were known in the group home they grew up in—are diverse in genetic backgrounds but united in one tragedy: they are all survivors of a medical experiment that salvaged aborted fetuses. Now, as a civil and racial war engulf America, the four find themselves on their own quests, namely, to find the families who cast them aside and, ultimately, to make the family they never had.Craig Baldwin started writing Posterity: The Story of Our Future’s Past during the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court hearing and Baldwin’s pediatrics residency as a medical student. Posterity became a moral odyssey for him. Decades later, the story remains fresh. Posterity is the story of complex, fully developed, and very human characters, even though they were thrown away before they could launch in life. In the end, their salvation is in reproduction and the creation of a loving warm and complicated family. That they could do so is exactly the point Posterity. Indeed, it is the point of humanity.

H.B.''s sporting trips and work travels have led him on many adventures, from Costa Rica to British Columbia, from Florida to Alaska. When circumstances led H.B. to retire to The Orchard, alone save for his trusted Springer Spaniel Jack, he balked at settling back into small-town life. H.B. did everything he could to avoid being at his hometown. If friends called for him to join a hunting expedition, he was ready. When work called with a new consulting job, even in a backwoods southern town, he was there. Anything to get out of The Orchard. The Orchard is a story of bird dogs, fly-fishing adventures, venerable characters and loves lost and found. West''s unique writing style, sparse yet full of emotion, takes the reader on a slew of adventures as well as an emotional journey. We''re right there with him while driving through the colorful streets of Costa Rica, we feel the crisp cold of a day fly-fishing in Maryland, and we get an inside look at the trials of training a bird dog. But The Orchard is also a story of relationships and community. While he writes of doing all he can to escape The Orchard, the truth is that the place is as much a part of H.B. as his love for a day knee-deep in waders, a good gun dog, and a strong drink. Sprinkled with just enough history to make you feel at home in The Orchard, H.B. takes the reader along on his own journey as he explores changing friendships and new relationships and falls in love again.
