61 Lates niloticus collected from River Nile were examined for the presence of protozoan ectoparasites. Four species of Apiosoma (A. amoebae, A. doliaris, A. piscicola and A. poteriformis) and one Scopulata (S. epibranchialis) were recorded. A. poteriformis was recorded in Egypt for the first time and all the above parasites were recorded from this fish for the first time. Also, 19 fish were natural hosts of eight trichodinids. All isolated trichodinids, except T. lepsii, were detected for the first time from this fish. Moreover, T. rectuncinata was isolated for the first time from any fish kind in Egypt. 52 fish specimens were also natural hosts of nine ciliates: six species of scyphidians; Ambiphyra ameiuri, Ambiphyra sp., Scyphidia globularis, S. doliaris, Scyphidia mansouriensis n. sp. and Scyphidia sp.; two amphileptids; Amphileptus niloticus n. sp. and Amphileptus sp. and only one tetrahymenid; Tetrahymena sp. All parasites were recorded for the first time from this host in Egypt. Scyphidia globularis and S. doliaris were not recorded before from any fish kind in Egypt. Furthermore, Amphileptus niloticus and Scyphidia mansouriensis were described as new species.

African literatures in African languages are still in the margin of literary critical analyses and theories. As a consequence, there are few critical studies and theories focused on the interface between the African oral literatures in African languages and their written ones. This situation raises important critical and theoretical questions for literary critics, theoreticians and students. This book provides critical perspectives taking into account aspects of the interface between the oral and written forms through a case study on Hausa literature. In fact, the notion of interface permeates the book: interface between the collective repertoire of Hausa oral traditions and the individual, more stylized usages of elements of the repertoire by traditional artists; between oral and written literary productions in the Hausa language as well as in translation; between the traditional astists and modern writters and between Francophone and Anglophone literary traditions and civilizations often competing with the Hausa ones from Northern Nigeria and Southeastern Niger, symbols of different colonial experiences.

Medical journals, imagined by many to be as dull as telephone directories and twice as obscure, influence the lives of everybody¿and not always for the better. Not only do they affect how doctors treat patients and the actions taken by public health authorities, they also influence how we think about birth, death, pain, and sickness. It may therefore make sense - for the thoughtful but not necessarily expert reader¿to pay attention to the ways of medical journals, particularly as many of those ways are deficient and need reform. Some societies and some commercial publishers have grown rich from their journals, earning profit margins of 40%. They were ¿must have¿ journals,quasi-monopolies. New paper journals ceased to appear in such large numbers a decade or so ago because the traditional business model¿ of selling subscriptions primarily to institutions¿would no longer work.

The objective of this study is to investigate the ways whereby English language textbooks reinforce gender stereotypes. The main aim is to evaluate Ticket 2 English and to analyze the representations of both women and men in Moroccan EFL textbooks. I would like to investigate the effect of these gender roles represented in this textbook on both girls and boys. This study would prove that EFL textbooks reinforce gender stereotypes through the presentation of implicit meanings in words, pictures, adjectives and the social functions of both females and males. However, this investigation might find a possibility of making a change within the student's mindset relying on the presentation of equality and equity in textbooks and attitudes of teachers towards gender. The present research aims at investigating the effects of gender representation in Moroccan EFL textbooks mainly Ticket 2 English on second baccalaureate learners' perception of women and men's identity. It studies the impacts of gender roles that are reflected in EFL textbooks.
