At age 11, June developed anorexia nervosa, an illness that challenged and shaped her life. A Girl Called Tim is about June's 40-year, unrelenting quest to reclaim her identity, grab hold of the hand of that little girl lost, and set out on new adventures to reconnect with, strengthen and explore her true healthy self. This book is about hope and never giving up in the quest to live a free and fulfilling life.June resigned from a longtime career in print journalism in 2007 to write A Girl Called Tim. This publication of her inner story has led to the writing of eight more books about eating disorders. Today June is a non-fiction storyteller, with a special passion for the diary. Journaling was an important survival, coping and healing tool during her illness and recovery, and this collection of diaries is drawn on extensively in A Girl Called Tim. The diaries went on to become a major resource in June's Ph.D. in Creative Writing, which explores how to create a book from diary excerpts, and more specifically, how diary-writing can be a self-help and therapeutic tool for people with an eating disorder. Believing everyone has a story to tell, and that everyone's life counts, June shares her literary skills as a life-writing workshop presenter and mentor to those seeking to use journaling for healing, self-renewal and story sharing. A mental health advocate, June writes and speaks internationally on the theme 'Hope at Every Age' and serves on national and international mental health and advocacy organizations. Her websites and blog supports this work.June lives beside the sea on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. Her prime inspirations are family and friends, the stories of others, her two cats and dog, and walks along the seashore. Tom was a former US Marine with a shady past and his money-making schemes bumped up against the law, but that didn't matter to Penny. He had captured her heart, leading to their hasty marriage after a chance meeting on a Spanish beach in the Mediterranean. After a spell in his hometown of Dublin, they settled back in Sitges, where they ran a succession of businesses that, boom or bust, never quite managed to keep Tom out of trouble. The second title in the new and lavish 'Deluxe' natural history series from Reed New Holland, this book is packed with sumptuous photography of more than one hundred of the world's most amazing bird species. So many people watch birds, perhaps because they can be seen almost anywhere. Look out of any window and there is a good chance that before long you will see some of our feathered friends. And while some species can be seen in our gardens, others have very specific requirements meaning that they are restricted to tiny fragments of habitat in remote forests or mountains. Another attraction is the sheer number of species. At the last count there were more than 10,000 bird species in the world. The images celebrate the astonishing variety and beauty of birds, from swans and flamingos to kingfishers and hummingbirds. And the images have stories to tell, from spectacular courtship displays by frigatebirds, cranes and birds of paradise to specialised feeding adaptations such as the barely believable beak of the Sword-billed Hummingbird. Amazing shots of birds from around the world, including portraits, action pictures and mind-boggling images of flocks, are brought together via a foreword explaining why birds have been such an evolutionary success story. In short, Birds is a glorious memento of a fascinating subject, brought together in a luxurious book that celebrates the many astonishing species from all around the planet, making it ideal for nature lovers, as a gift, or as an interior-design feature in any home.

Packed with sumptuous photography, this is one of the first titles in the new and lavish 'Deluxe' natural history series from Reed New Holland. The images celebrate the beauty and marvellous design of some of our most misunderstood animals, the reptiles. They share a magnificence and elegance that we are now beginning to really appreciate. They are, in the true sense of the word, awesome! The images have stories to tell. A gecko with padded toes dashes across vertical glass, seeming to mock the laws of gravity as it moves effortlessly over that smooth surface. In just a fraction of a second a chameleon unleashes its tongue, a high- velocity projectile, with the accuracy of a marksman to snatch an insect from a twig a body's length away. In a powerful test of strength and endurance, two great Komodo Dragons, the largest living lizards, rise on their hind limbs and try to topple each other in a meeting of muscles and scaly hides. Stunning shots of snakes, lizards, crocodiles and turtles from around the world are brought together via a foreword from expert herpetologist Steve Wilson, who explains why reptiles are such an ongoing success story, having been around for 200 million years and with 12,000 extant species adapted to habitats as varied as arctic tundra, deserts, rainforests and open oceans. All in all 'Reptiles' is a glorious memento of a fascinating subject, brought together in a luxurious book that celebrates the many astonishing reptile species from all around the planet, making it ideal for nature lovers, as a gift, or as an interior design feature in any home.
