The author, Michael Brooke Fisher, wrote this book decades ago after reading a novel by the popular legal thriller writer John Grisham. With no disrespect to Grisham, he felt he could write something equally as good and took on the self-imposed challenge.Using his experience as both a criminal defense attorney and later as the Prosecutor of one of New Jersey's twenty-one counties he wrote To Kill or Not to Kill. A Los Angeles agency showed interest in acquiring screenplay rights to the unpublished novel but ultimately, that did not come to pass. At the same time the author was appointed to a State Superior Court Judgeship, making the publication of the novel with its subject matter less than appropriate. So he put it in a desk drawer and put it out of his mind.Since then he has left the bench, the novel has been published and he now welcomes people to read To Kill or Not to Kill.

The philosophical idea of absurdism, which addresses the irrationality and meaninglessness of the universe, finds a special literary form in magical realism. In magical realism, the combination of the mundane and the fantastical reflects the absurd nature of reality itself; in this literary style, seemingly impossible or supernatural elements coexist with the ordinary in a seamless manner, obfuscating the boundaries between the believable and the fantastical; this blending of the extraordinary into the ordinary fabric of life reflects the absurd condition of human existence, where the logical and the inexplicable frequently converge without explanation or justification. The 25 stories in this book are excellent examples of contemporary magic realism. Each story is introduced by a rather consequential and momentous poem, which could also be understood as a piece of music (so, if you wish, you are welcome to dance while you're reading them); each poem is followed by a short story about death and the departed; stories that dwell on the absurd and the fantastic-two qualities that should not be absent in the work of any Latin American writer.

In this piece of paper, the author exposes that just as political actors carry out a confrontation in favorable democratic conditions aimed at taking over the spaces of power available through the holding of elections, raising the electoral challenge before an authoritarian regime represents a strategic reality with multiple battle scenarios. The author explains, reinventing Sun Tzu, that it is mandatory to understand that if you try to use the methods of a civil organization to confront a structure that is sustained by military operations, the strategies will be confused, so eventually they will have to fail.Understanding the above, the National Conciliation proposal is based on the knowledge and management of six elements necessary to confront an authoritarian regime of a military nature, to achieve democratic emancipation, some of which have been rescued from the work of Sun Tzu. , The Art of War.These elements are Tao (¿), Political Climate (¿¿¿¿), Democratic Sphere (¿¿¿¿), Effective leadership (¿¿¿¿¿), Electoral Strategy (¿¿¿¿), and Civil Organization (¿¿¿¿).

My name is Levi and I swear I didn't kill her.Sure, I was the only person found at the scene of the crime, and maybe her blood was literally on my hands, but I can explain all that. I'm a journalist writing for Kansas City's magical community-it's not that I'm nosey; digging around in other people's business is my job. So when I suspected that a woman had been cursed, it's only natural that I went to learn more.I couldn't have known she'd be dead before I arrived. Seriously, I write headlines about bridge trolls and solstice events, not murder. The Wizard's Council thinks I did it, and I'm going to have a hard time convincing them otherwise. Who are they going to believe, an autistic journalist with a smart mouth and a rap sheet, or the mountain of evidence I left behind when I fled the scene of the crime?I have to solve the murder. The killer is still out there, ready to strike again so long as they aren't caught. To crack the case with the Council on my tail, I'll have to move fast, stay low, and find a way to cover my tracks. If I can't, the real killer will go free, and I'll take the fall. I've been to the Council's prison once and if I go back I know I'll never make it out alive....The following work contains depictions of violence, mortal peril, death, police violence, and psychological distress. Reader discretion is advised.

Even when I'm not chasing kidnappers, I don't keep normal hours. I'm a journalist; late nights, burnt coffee, and energy potions come with the territory. When I get lost in a story or deep in pre-publication crunch time, I can't quit just because the sun's been down for eight hours. So when my best friend called me well after midnight to say she was being followed, I was already halfway out the door before the call could be hexed.I wasn't fast enough. By the time I arrived she was gone; vanished from within an impenetrable magical ward. Now I'm running out of time to discover who took her and why. There's no time for sleep: The clock is ticking, my leads are thin, and the few confidants I've got aren't playing straight with me. The monsters and thugs scurrying around the city won't make clue gathering any easier. At the start, I was afraid that if I didn't find her fast, she'd wind up dead. Now I know that if I don't get her back in time, her death will just be the start.....The following work contains depictions of violence and mortal peril, police violence, PTSD, and kidnapping. Reader discretion is advised.

I've always loved reading short stories. I suppose that I, like most other kids, read lots of shorter stories before I ever got to novels. They are quicker to read and able to sustain interest over a bried period, mainly for that very fact. One of my favorite literary devices is irony; which I grew to enjoy by reading O'Henry stories. I love little twists, whenever possible. If anything, those reading my stories will quickly learn to expect something different down the road as they read. I'm about to take a creative fiction class in Grad school, which I started in August of 2023. Hopefully I will gain some of the skills which I might lack and improve my story telling. It is my hope that anyone reading these stories will then want to move on to my novels. For me, writing novels is sort of like writing many short stories that are all related by characters.

Whether you are a pastor looking for a resource for a class for mature believers, a volunteer leading a small group study or are personally studying Scripture for your own spiritual growth, this resource is for you. This study is designed to give confidence to followers of Christ, and to be a resource which anyone can pick up and use to teach confidently and thoroughly through John's Gospel.God's Word is not a dusty collection of ancient books. It is alive and active; every bit as applicable to believers today as it was to the original readers. Not only is Scripture authoritative and relevant, it is a deep well of profound truth which should be returned to regularly. That is the foundational truth from which this inductive study operates. Asking questions of the text, we will paint a picture of how the events described in the Gospel of John actually unfolded, seeing and experiencing them through John's eyes as though we were witnessing Jesus' ministry firsthand. Using this approach in tandem with good theology and sound hermeneutics, Scripture comes alive and becomes inescapably relevant. Careful study of Scripture allows the reader to not only know about Jesus, but to actually know Jesus.Contained within this work is the actual biblical text of the entirety of John's Gospel (in the NIV translation), questions designed to prompt group discussion or personal reflection, and commentary framed through the lens of the discussion questions, making for an accessible and user-friendly resource that is relatable to people in all phases of their faith journey.

About the bookAI is upon us, poised to wreak havoc on virtually every labor sector. Humanity's saving grace, we are told, is that we're creative, whereas AI is not. This book, by noted AI Ph.D, and internationally recognized award-winning musician and AI artist, asserts that AI proposes a new creative field of fostering myriad ancillary forms of creativity, and that these forms of "alternative intelligence" propose a creative renaissance and prosperous future. The book functions as a sort of artist's notebook, how Tokui came to his understandings from creating using AI, topical examples from AI in creative industries, common mistakes to avoid in understanding the problems before us, fun anecdotal ways for understanding creativity and AI from literature, music, and painting history, and apparent contradictions with how we, as a society, tend to approach creative practices. The book frees us from preconceptions about what we need to do to move forward, creatively, in an age of AI, with specific examples from leading creatives using AI, including detailed explanations based on the author's own work.Surfing human creativity with AI - a user's guide is a fun read, and a gateway to a meta-universe of new meta-universes where each of us can explore and thrive.

Mostly, this novel was intended to be interesting enough for students to read. It is written with high schoolers in mind. Therefore, there is no vulgar language or "sex" in this novel, nor will there be in the sequels. This book can be read by anyone of any age without fear of being offended for those two reasons. However, many of the questions posed by the characters are questions that each of us asks at some point during our lives. Questioning the existence of a higher power is human, regardless of your religious upbringing. I believe that the more questions that you ask, the better answers you get. Above all, I hope that you enjoy my story. It should make you laugh, cry, be angry, be sad, and be happy. Those are what separate us from the other animals.
