This is the full text of a doctoral thesis (in Law) that seeks to describe the body of literature that is associated with a seemingly intractable realm of argumentation - the Economic Analysis of Law.Over the course of eight chapters Dr Moylan considers how an ethnographically and semiotically informed modality of inquiry (after Barthes, Bourdieu, Geertz, et al.) can serve to promote an engagement with not just the propositions being advanced by those involved in argumentation, but also the epistemic and common knowledge framing factors that are serving to inform all sides of a debate in a range of sometimes uniform and sometimes diverse ways. In accord with these observations, the thesis not only examines a series of texts but also a range of cultural, linguistic and common knowledge factors that are implicated in supporting and informing the range of counterpoised propositions of argumentation that are in evidence. It is argued that it is significant that such a perspective of inquiry employs a language and focus of analysis that is largely unconcerned with the subject matter discriminations that are being commonly deemed as contentious, but which instead focusses on commonalities and contrasts in code discrimination and those aspects of common knowledge that are being appreciated as consequential in a variety of different arenas of discourse. By thus providing for an analytical perspective that is epistemically and culturally cognisant, yet also propositionally agnostic, a semiotically informed sensibility of analysis assists in enhancing communications relating to precisely those matters where this is of most consequence, which is regarding those instances of long-standing and widespread contention that are commonly described as constituting 'intractable arguments.'

This Book is the second in a series that compiles sales advertised in South Carolina newspapers by sheriffs of property to pay debts, etc. What is a Sheriff's Sale? This question was clearly answered by The Rev. W. Becket Soule, Tribunal Office, Diocese of Charlotte, in his review of my first book in this series-South Carolina Sheriff's Sales 1836-1839-which appeared in the North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal, Volume 46, Number 1. Quoting Rev. Soule:"A sheriff's sale is a public auction where property is repossessed; the proceeds may be used to repay mortgage lenders, banks, tax collectors, or other litigants who have lost money on the property. A sheriff's sale occurs at the end of the foreclosure process, when the initial property owner can no longer make good on mortgage payments, but such a sale can also occur to satisfy judgments and tax liens. The legal document which sets this process in motion, technically a writ of execution, is referred to as fieri facias, usually abbreviated as fi. fa. (Latin for "you cause to be made").

This is a story of the march to a modern Indonesia as seen through the outside eyes of the American expat community. The island nation has just come out of colonialism and is struggling for a national identity that is shrouded in mystery, religion, and especially the international politics that placed Indonesia front and center in the cold war. The hero of the story is Edmond Beil, an oil executive who was thrown out of the military for being a homosexual. The novel begins during World War II, and ends with the military coup of 1965. This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents are either the product of the author's imagination or interpretation of actual events that provide a framework in this fictitious telling of the Indonesian path to independence.

For humanity, to seek is a timeless tradition. My own seeking journey has been inspired by traditions from all over the globe. Around the age of 20, I began to go on treks, expeditions, and vision quests, often alone in hopes to bring myself closer to the myths I had learned about in various traditions, from books, from teachers, from meditation, and various forms of initiation and training. I was looking for treasure, and I realized at a young age that true treasure in this world is immaterial and often invisible. It is what eludes us in a busy, conditioned, challenging world. It is peace, gratitude, adventure, integration of our lessons into wisdom, personal truth, and love. These are informal, authentic, humanistic reflections I kept and bundled from some of my experiences searching for vastness and perspective. Although the path never ends, I feel personally called to share all of what I've learned. If you find even one word in this text to be useful, my heart is full.

Born in rural Herefordshire in 1931, Robert Jenkins grants us a memoir of a vanished childhood. A series of fascinating vignettes and anecdotes, skilfully strung together, convey with candour and hu-mour the spirit of a bygone era, seen through the eyes of a child as he grows into a man. His love of the natural world is unsentimental, indisputable and honest. He paints a picture of rural life in the '30s and '40s as warm and intimate as Laurie Lee's 'Cider with Rosie' does for an earlier epoch. Through his anecdotes, poems, drawings and photographs, Jenkins introduces us to the wild creatures of land and water, domestic animals of farm and home, human comrades young and old, the railway, Kington Camp hospital and the idyllic Hereford-shire landscape of the River Arrow, Rushock Hill and the land around Hergest Ridge. Besides the military historian, the fisherman, poacher and railway historian too will all find much to absorb. This Second Edition is expanded with significant new material.

Wolfgang Volker is many things: vampire, psychopath, connoisseur of fine living. But impulsive? Never that. Until the day he sets foot in Hyde Park and catches a certain enticing scent on the wind. His mate is here, gorgeous and oblivious and undeniably human. And it doesn't take long for Wolfe to make the most impulsive move of his whole undead existence.Dr. Eric Monroe has plenty going for him: he's good-looking, he's a doctor, he's... well, that's kind of it. And true, the citizens of Hyde Park think he's a sleaze and a dud and make sure to let him know it. And no, he doesn't have any real friends or family members who don't drive him up the wall. But that's fine, right? Until the day his standing massage appointment ends not with a tip, but with a bite. Now Eric has to navigate a new world, a new existence, a new, very particular diet. All while coming to terms with the strange, obsessive, all-too-alluring vampire who claims they're destined mates. But what does it mean to be mated to someone who's never truly cared for another person before? And can Wolfe convince Eric to stick around long enough to find out?Wolfgang is a heated, fated-mates MM paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains a possessive, psychopathic vampire soft only for his mate, and the insecure, needy human who can't quite come to terms with being wanted just as he is. It also contains steamy scenes between two men, and the moderate violence (and mentions of blood) that one might expect from a vampire romance. While each book focuses on a different couple, the series is best enjoyed in order.

Most people THINK they think! But, very few analyse and examine what happens around them. For Christians, this means they accept whatever is given to them as 'correct'. This is because they trust people who give them information. Sadly, this is not always wise, and Christians are led a merry dance down the wrong rose-strewn path! There is a great need today for Christians to learn how to think properly. Though the author set out to write in academic prose, God changed his mind and now the book is shorter, and a chatting style has been used, with anecdotes, making it more reader-friendly! Think beyond the norm and let your mind resonate with truth. The text is introductory.
