Just like a kaleidoscope, this anthology tries to showcase poems of many colours and shapes, moving through them to create a diverse and vibrant picture.

whispering shrieks is a collection dedicated to nature and to the mysteries of feelings, the powerful emotions we feel everyday, and how life itself shapes us into who we want to be. It is meant to evoke emotion, and to relate to how people feel and learn through those feelings. Although it's hard to even acknowledge our feelings, it is important to at least recognize we have them. Follow the journeys these poems take you through, from sweltering deserts to looming mountains.

""This poetry collection faces head-on the daunting work of being human. From heartache to healthcare, politics to playfulness, these poems explore healing, resilience, and belonging. May these words companion your journeys into the unknown. May you release what hinders your wholeness. May you disrupt the status quo of productivity and embrace what is healthy for your muscles and vasculature. May you find your voice buried beneath all the 'should' narratives. From my journey to yours, Evey.""

Within this book is a collection of my poetry. Just like my bipolar mind, I jump from topic to topic, happy to sad, no real order to anything. I accepted the challenge to write 21 poems in 21 days in order to create this book. The only poem that wasn't written within these days was the poem for Tup Tup who passed away in 2021. I find writing is a way to cope when things are too hard or I am having trouble processing my thoughts and feelings. My hope is that this book may bring comfort to others, even if it is only the comfort in knowing they are not alone.

Life is a confusing journey full of twists and turns, with something new around every corner. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows -- in fact, few things are. Life is a tumultuous maze of exuberant highs and soul crushing lows. The snapshots enclosed in this collection provide perspective on the array of emotions that life has to offer. It is hard to put words to the tribulations we face throughout our lives, but there is a certain beauty when that raw emotion can be captured in ink on the page.

This book is a collection of poems from the past few months. They illustrate a change in season as much as how one may relate to the society that surrounds them. The past two years have been rough on maybe people; these poems are an observation of this change within the self but within society as well. They explore multiple themes, some of which might not be about what you think they are.

A series of poems; a view of the internal anguish of a person who has continued although they didn't know how, endured some hard seasons that broke and remade her, and laughed most of the way through. And most of all, these are the words of a person who has lived and chosen to continue living.

""This lovingly laboured assortment of thought-provoking poems brings you a taste of the bitter-sweet experiences which come with experiences of holding on and letting go. Many times, life teaches when to hold on, and when to let go; and in this moving and inspiring poetry collection, Gemma Herbertson takes you on a journey of parts and counterparts in life: from the flighty highs of love and finding purpose, to the realities of Alzheimer's Disease, and being a mother to a child with complex special needs. "What you do each day, matters. But you take up so many tasks, every single day, that it leaves you drained by night. And by then, nothing matters but the welcoming comfort of your bed. So here is a person, taking up one basic task each day, that will leave you feeling funny & accomplished at the same time. To give you a glimpse, the first day's task is to eat. That's it. Just eat. No, not to be a glutton. Just accomplish the task of eating. And the rest of the 20 days will follow in easy footsteps such. What happens in each of them, you ask? Read this quirky poetic story of 21 days and find out for yourself!"
