"Reading this book is like talking to an old friend. Antonio: A Mexican Boy & His Stories, cuentos told with such vibrancy that characters emerge with rich and complex texture, maps the intricacies hidden behind a person's name. Heartfelt and kind...it is a reminder of what it means to be successful: to move with dignity, integrity, compassion, and a dash of wit. This book is stunning." -Roberta Hurtado, PhDAssociate Professor of Latina/o Literature & Culture, State University of New York at Oswego"Like Antonio, I thought I'd seen changes in the world that meant others following me would be spared the hurts and barriers, but lately, it seems, those changes I thought were real were just a veil...I hope that others will have the chance to read this amazing story and, from it, learn about themselves and the world but, most importantly, come to believe, as I do, that change is possible; we can all be different and better." -Arthur E. Hernandez, phdProfessor of Psychology, UIW Dreeben School of Education, University of Incarnate WordThroughout his life, Jesse Natal Sánchez (December 22, 1936-August 11, 2020) wrote about his upbringing in the Texas community where he was raised. Antonio focuses on the experience of growing up as a Mexican American during the war years of 1941 to 1945 and beyond. Because of Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and other medical complications, the use of Jesse's left arm was highly restricted in the last years of his life. After he retired at age sixty-five and using only three fingers on his laptop, Jesse dedicated himself full-time to finishing this story, and by July 21, 2020, he was done. Thus, the tremors that caused Jesse's arms to shake continuously, day and night, did not stop him from achieving his dream.

Three Tinsel Tales contains three Christmas and holiday-themed books in one, in addition to activities, coloring pages and a section for kids to write and illustrate their own book! The first story is called Making Spirits Light. It's about every light in the world having a job to do, including Christmas lights. One light at the South Pole wants to dim everyone's light to shine, but he quickly learns the importance of family, teamwork, being included and feels lighter when he discovers there's enough room for everyone to shine bright. The second story is called The Llama and Unicorn Save Christmas. This story shows how this duo answers the call when needed, and sheds light on the importance of everything happening for a reason, and embracing that change. It's meant to be for them to save Christmas! The third story is called Randall, the Redneck Reindeer. It's about a carefree, farming reindeer who saves granny from getting run over by a reindeer. Not only is he heroic, but a great demonstration of not being quick to judge others. Santa shares a special lesson in this story: To cherish everyone's unique gifts and talents. (You'll also enjoy the nods to Joe Diffie, the song, Grandma got run Over by a Reindeer, and the classic, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.) Then, there are questions about each book, encouraging discussion with family and friends. Themed coloring pages follow, reflecting characters or messages from the stories. Lastly, there is a section for kids to become an Author and Illustrator, for them to write their own book! Enjoy this gift!

You are not just a "dot" in a sea of dots. Do you ever feel like your life is insignificant and you are a small gray "dot" among billions of gifted and colorful dots on the planet? Are you struggling to find meaning and purpose in your life? Does it seem like everyone around you is happy and thriving while you are feeling lost and hopeless? I also experienced similar feelings for a long time, and it got so overwhelming that I ended up in the psychiatric ward. I felt completely invisible and drained. But, during my transformational stay and with the help of two young missionaries, I discovered my authentic self-worth. I realized that my existence, my dot, holds immense significance because my soul has a genuine purpose. The same goes for you. Your soul is on a meaningful journey. You are not just a speck in an endless sea of dots. Even in seemingly insignificant moments, God has a plan for your soul's highest happiness and purpose. In the pages of this book, I share my journey of self-discovery and realization. By reading it, you'll discover how you're already impacting the lives of those around you and helping them on their journey towards a meaningful life through the teachings of Jesus Christ. He reveals how significant we are to Him and others in many ways. This book will help you observe and strengthen your faith in Him to discover your authentic self-worth and realize that your unique contribution to the world, your bright and colorful dot, matters too.

"A complete course of Theology for the use of all Christians, where the art of prayer and meditation is taught theoretically and practically." - Fr. Camilo María Abad Puente S.J. (1878-1969)Venerable Father Louis de Ponte, S.J. lived to be one of the most esteemed ascetical writers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. He was born in Valladolid Spain, on 1554. He died a holy death in the same city on the 16th of February 1624, having completed his seventieth year. His cause of beatification was introduced in 1667; all his writings pontifically approved in 1714; and his virtues declared heroic in 1759 by Clement XIII. He spent a great part of his priestly life exclusively devoted to the spiritual formation of younger Jesuits, either as master of novices or as spiritual father. Through his personal experience of labouring in the lord's vineyard, he learned how to direct souls. Leading them in prayer and showing them how to seek God.His first work which issued from his pen was the book of "Meditations" on the principal mysteries of our holy faith, on the Life and Passion of our Lord, of His Blessed Mother, of the Divinity and Trinity etc. It was written in Spanish, and printed in the year 1605. Within one year after its first appearance, it passed through three editions, and was translated into seven languages. It is in truth an immortal work, in which the reader scarcely knows which to admire most, either the extensive learning, or the order of arrangement, or the multiplicity and correctness of the reflections, or the unction with which the mysteries are unfolded. It cannot be read without feeling the will excited to devotion, or without a desire to profit by it. In it he explains admirably the practice of prayer, at the same time furnishing ample materials for it. In it directors and confessors may find wherewith to instruct those committed to their charge. In it religious of every order may find celestial manna for the daily food of their devotion. In it, in fine, every person of every state may learn how to appreciate the eternal truths, and the mysteries of our holy faith, and also how to live well, if they will frequently read and meditate upon them. Emperor Ferdinand II declared that this book had been most useful to him, and knew it almost by heart.
