William Shakespeare from Stratford-upon-Avon appeared in London in 1590 at the age of 26 and is believed by many to have begun writing the greatest plays the world has ever seen. There is no record of his education, if he had any. His parents, wife and children may have been illiterate. He left no books. No one reported in any diary or letter that they had met him or talked to him, or even talked about him. He left six signatures, all different. Three were on his last will and testament, which makes no mention of any plays, poems or books; two were on deeds to real property; the last was on an affidavit he gave in a court case. The records show a businessman who acquired considerable property during his lifetime, hoarded grain during a famine, and engaged in a number of lawsuits, one over as little as five pounds. He was connected with the theatre and may have been an actor, but there is nothing that independently proves he was the author of the plays attributed to him. Mark Twain, Sigmund Freud, Orson Welles, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Sir Derek Jacobi, Walt Whitman, and many others, including a number of United States Supreme Court justices, have all concluded that William did not write the plays. But if he didn't, who did? And if someone else was the greatest author who ever lived, why was Shakespeare given the credit? This is how it happened, and why Shakespeare paid with his life for his part in, to use the words of Henry James, "the biggest and most successful fraud ever practiced on a patient world

This story is about a king who cannot sleep one night. It became a gathering of charming but eccentric characters: A giggly frog, a cautious turtle, a vigilant firefly, an annoying mosquito, and the sleepless king. The story wraps up with a hilarious, comical, and unexpected ending. Funny and interactive story to read and bond with young kids.

A highly educated and cultured young woman, Laura Franklin Glenn (Devamata) was born in the Midwest in the nineteenth century. Possessing many talents and practical good sense, she was well prepared for the work which absorbed her. She began serving the cause of Vedanta as an active member of the first Vedanta Society of New York under Swami Abhedananda, Vivekananda's brother monk, for the six years 1901 to 1907.The Vedanta movement in the West can trace its strong literary roots to its earliest years, due in large part to Sister Devamata. It was her articles that appeared in the early journals of the Ramakrishna Order, the Brahmavadin (1895-1914) and the Prabuddha Bharata, begun in 1896. She also submitted articles to the Vedanta Kesari; begun in 1914 and considered a continuation of the Brahmavadin.Sister Devamata had a deep inner life whose fruits in the form of wisdom are revealed in her writings and in the lectures she gave at the Vedanta Centre in Boston and at Ananda Ashrama in La Crescenta. More than a hundred of her Sunday lectures were transcribed and published in the Message of the East over five decades. They have been lightly edited and organized to form a wonderfully rich and useful guide for spiritual aspirants who desire to live "the larger life" in their chosen path.

Born in 1940 to an unwed mother and orphaned at a young age, Standing Pat tells the remarkable story of a girl growing into womanhood determined to make a difference in her part of a troubled world. Her stubborn resilience was called upon early when her mother died of cancer, and at the age of seven, the author was asked to make the decision whether to move into an orphanage or to the home of extended family. What follows is her memoir, a kaleidoscope of life experiences including her roles as nun, teacher, and farmer, building and living in a wigwam, a murder trial, health crises, world travels, widowhood, and activism. Now in her 80's, the author reflects on a lifetime of challenges, opportunities, and losses, but throughout, her choices embody the sentiment to bloom where one is planted. Pat's steadfast devotion to providing service, challenging authority, and doing the right thing all intersected with the current issues of her day - racial discrimination, poverty, war, child abuse, and the climate crisis. In a world where it is easy to dismiss the difference one person can make, this book will inspire readers to examine themselves and find opportunities in their daily lives to help those nearest them.
