Flexible Supercapacitors (FSCs) possessing higher power output, greater energy density, extended cycle life, superior rate performance, and eco-friendly attributes can satisfy the future energy storage and delivery requirements in upcoming flexible electronics. However, the current supercapacitors (SCs) technology based on carbonaceous or conducting polymers is constrained primarily by their low energy density, restraining their large-scale implementation. In this context, Pseudocapacitive materials such as Transition metal nitrides (TMNs) and transition metal oxides (TMOs) that undergo rapid and highly reversible redox and intercalation kinetics at or near the electrode surface, coupled with electric double-layer capacitive (EDLC) kinetics, can assist FSCs in achieving higher energy and power densities simultaneously.
Contaminated ponds can become reservoirs of antibiotic-resistant strains of faecal bacteria including enterococci which are capable of contributing to the spread of antimicrobial resistance into the marine environment. As such, this book aimed to characterize the antimicrobial resistance profile of Enterococcus species from fish ponds in Benin City, Edo State. A total of 376 water samples were obtained from four different fish ponds between February and July, 2015 and were investigated for the presence of Enterococcus species using standard bacteriological methods. The antimicrobial susceptibility profile of the isolates were determined by adopting the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. From the 376 water samples analysed for the presence of enterococci isolates, 100 isolates each from Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium were isolated from the four fish ponds investigated. The mean enterococal counts from the four fish ponds investigated ranged from 4±0.01 à 102 to 12±0.17 à 102 CFU/ml. Statistical analysis reveals that there was a significant difference observed in the mean enterococcal counts obtained from the four different fish ponds in the study (p p r = 0.876) of the multidrug resistant profile on the number of isolates studied was observed (p > 0.05). Adherence to adequate and proper use of manure products and frequent discharge of water from fish pond will reduce the high level of antimicrobial resistance in Enterococcus species isolated from fish ponds and also reduce the potential risk to human health.
Phragmites australis, capable of both sexual and asexual reproduction, widely distributes along the tidal flat gradient in the Dongtan coastal salt marsh wetlands of Chongming. To examine whether P. australis display cross-generational adaptation, seeds from different tidal flat habitats were collected and stored under various temperature. Subsequently, the effects of soil properties in the original habitats, seed storage temperature and salinity conditions on seed germination strategies were explored. When the salinity up to 150/00, the germination rate of P. australis seeds was 1.3% - 7.7%. Low seed-storage temperatures (4 C) significantly enhanced germination rates and potentials, compared to those stored at room temperature (20 C). Soil salinity and water content were major factors influenced germination rates after storing seeds at 4 C. However, germination rates and potentials were positively correlated with the soil P content. Meanwhile, the seed germination indexes and speeds were more significantly affected by the room temperature. Both seed storage temperatures and the tidal flats had a positive direct impact on the germination parameters of seeds. However, soil N/P had a positive indirect effect on the seed germination parameters only at the lower seed-storage temperature. The results indicated that vernalization (low-temperature seed storage) differentially promoted the germination of P. australis seeds collected from the tidal flat gradient in a subtropical marine monsoon climate salt marsh area and demonstrated cross-generational adaptation. Consequently, using seeds collected from P. australis populations along the tidal flat gradient to restore the original population could be considered an effective and economical method.
Set Theory is a formalization of the existence and fundamental properties of mathematical objects as collections of elements and/or elements included in collections. Its formulation is so basic and comprehensive that it has been postulated as the foundation of all mathematics. Perhaps, the major achievement of Set Theory is that, after being criticized by many reputable mathematicians and philosophers since its appearance, it is now commonly accepted as the primary explanation of the most basic components of mathematics: numbers; and not only the numbers we have needed or we may ever need but all the numbers that could potentially exist. In Set Theory, an infinite sequence of numbers exists not as the mere projection of a construction algorithm but as a complete and self-identical mathematical object: a set. In Set Theory the words infinite and infinity do not refer to the property of growing endlessly (potential infinity) but to a definite magnitude; a number; the actual infinity. As a result of such a conception, Set Theory arrives at the conclusion that there exist infinitely many infinities, each one with a different value. The set of postulates, proofs and theorems used to justify the existence of such infinities is commonly known as Transfinite Set-Theory. The first part of this work shows how some of the properties and theorems applied to infinite sets, in Set Theory, necessarily lead to internal and fundamental contradictions under classical logic, even when the idea of actual infinity is accepted. Throughout the second part, motivated by the necessity of an alternative to Transfinite Set-Theory, due to the incapacity of such a theory to explain some of the findings shown in the first part (especially the proof of the existence of as many rational as irrational numbers), the author develops a theory to provide a better understanding of infinite sequences of numbers.

私たちの年代は現代日本史における激動の時代に育ちました。Pearl Harber に始まった第２次大戦の２年前に生まれ、太平洋戦争の敗戦の翌年小学校へ入学し、戦後の食糧難の時代に飢えを凌ぎ、受験地獄を経て、東京オリンピックの翌年に大学を卒業しました。大学在学中に安保闘争、卒業時に大学紛争、インターンボイコット、大学民主化と学閥支配への挫折を経験しました。私は５３人の医学部卒業生の中で唯一人米軍病院でインターンをし、その１２人のインターンの中で唯一人母校に戻れず、日本では将来はないと諦め、敗者復活戦の積りでアメリカに人生をかけました。したがって日本を出てから帰る気はありませんでした。アメリカではSt. Louis で病理レジデントを修了し、glass ceiling に遭遇し、州立カンサス大病院に２７年奉職後、テキサス州の市中病院に勤務してから西海岸のオレゴン州を最終の地に選びました。日本では病理は金とは無縁の基礎医学ですが、アメリカでは半分基礎医学また半分病理診断医として働き、貧乏に育った私にとって日本よりも良い環境でした。1970年代に私達がレジデントで渡米の際、日本からは毎年２０～３０人いましたが、2,000年に入りその数毎年数人の状態です。自然科学の一部である医学に国境があってはなりませんが学問に生きるか死ぬかは本人の努力次第です。先人としてもっと多くの日本の学徒が広く世界に進出することを願って、アメリカのヤブ医者生活を拙い自由詩でまとめてみました。日本では主に集団での生活を描き、アメリカでは個人と個人との触れ合いと、アメリカ中を車で走り回った記録を付け加えました。

The main purpose in this book is to represent some recent researches of Santilli iso-mathematics in the area of the plane geometry. This book is devoted to the iso-plane geometry. The book contains five chapters. The chapters in the book are pedagogically organized. Each chapter concludes with a section with practical problems. In Chapter 1 we introduce iso-real numbers with one and several iso-units. They are defined the basic operations with them and they are deducted some of their basic properties. In the chapter they are defined iso-matrices, iso-determinants and iso-trigonometric functions. Chapter 2 deals with straight iso-lines. It is defined iso-angle between two iso-vectors. La bioética ambiental y la red interconectada de vida, es un enfoque documental en perspectiva hermenéutica que hace referencia a las posibles causas que están generando efectos devastadores en la comunidad biótica y abiótica del planeta tierra. Para esto, hago referencia a la red interconectada de vida, dado que, los eventos en el mundo natural están enlazados entre sÃ, y los seres humanos jugamos un papel fundamental en las alteraciones ambientales que puedan perturbar la efectividad de los servicios ecosistémicos -además que podemos ser perjudicados- que nos proporciona la naturaleza para el normal desarrollo de la vida. La bioética como campo de saberes y conocimientos, fue postulada con el propósito de generar estrategias que permitieran contribuir al cese del deterioro ambiental. De esta forma, se describen las caracterÃsticas de la ética ambiental, la bioética ambiental y la bioética global, como herramientas que contribuyen a la reflexión. Se tiene en cuenta, especÃficamente la bioética desde el campo del medio ambiente como mecanismo clave de reflexión y herramienta para la toma de decisiones, asà como para establecer una nueva relación y convivencia con los ecosistemas, en donde se instaure un equilibrio entre los sistemas naturales y sociales, teniendo en cuenta la educación ambiental como estrategia. Con este libro que he titulado Memorias de pandemia deseo retrotraer a los lectores a algunos años atrás para recordarles vivencias múltiples de la pandemia de la Covid-19, muchas de las cuales seguramente tocaron profundamente su sensibilidad de seres atentos a los hechos extraordinarios. Deseo que esos recuerdos lleguen dotados de una nueva frescura, poniéndolos en relación unos con otros, aproximándolos desde sus distintas dimensiones (polÃticas, sociales, médicas, epidemiológicas e históricas) e invitarles a "mirarlos" con sus respectivas aprensiones o escrúpulos. Y haciéndolo asÃ, esperar que nos surjan, a los lectores y a mÃ, reflexiones que por lo menos no fueran completamente unilaterales. En otras palabras, intentar convocarnos a esforzarnos por comprender cuales factores permiten explicar la ocurrencia de los hechos.
La deserción escolar ha sido identificada como prioritaria durante años en la América Latina debido a sus consecuencias sociales e individuales. Las investigaciones en este campo señalan la enseñanza media superior como uno de los niveles de mayor incidencia. Por otra parte, existen diversos marcos explicativos donde confluyen elementos estructurales y relativos a la agencia social; en ellos resulta, en ocasiones, difÃcil entender como interactúan las causas y que peso relativo se le otorga a cada uno de los factores explicativos. El estudio que se presenta en este volumen focaliza su atención dos paÃses que han experimentado un descenso de sus tasas de abandono escolar durante los últimos veinte años. Ello presenta un escenario favorecedor para indagar desde una perspectiva comparada en los elementos que explican ese resultado. El periodo de investigación comienza en el año 2000 y culmina en 2019. Se utilizó como marco teórico el enfoque morfogenético de la TeorÃa Social Realista. Se usó una estrategia metodológica basada en el Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), implementado a partir de conjuntos difusos. Los resultados indican que las tasas de abandono son explicadas por la combinación de diseños institucionales que toman en cuenta de manera integral la multicausalidad del fenómeno y por una alta reflexividad en torno al mismo de parte de los agentes sociales implicados en la implementación de dichos diseños. El estudio discute el significado de este hallazgo y la pertinencia tanto de la teorÃa y la metodologÃa utilizada en la búsqueda de nuevas zonas de sentido en la explicación de la deserción escolar.

Using a correlational approach, the research explores how various humor styles relate to resilience levels in a diverse student population aged 18 to 25. Participants completed self-report measures, including the Humor Style Questionnaire (HSQ) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), providing quantitative data on humor preferences and resilience. The HSQ identifies four humor styles: affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating, while the CD-RISC measures the ability to rebound from adversity and adapt positively to challenges. These findings can inform interventions by educators and counselors to promote a positive psychological climate among students. Moreover, the study contributes to understanding the psychological well-being of students in different living arrangements. The correlational analysis offers insights into the complex relationship between humor styles and resilience, potentially guiding targeted interventions to support students' mental health in higher education settings.

Este proyecto se centra en proponer intervenciones arquitectónicas y urbanÃsticas para contrarrestar la pérdida cultural en San Juan del RÃo, Querétaro. Una de las propuestas principales es la creación de un centro cultural que fomente la conciencia ecológica entre la población local, enfrentando desafÃos como la desintegración social y la falta de seguridad e interés cultural. Siguiendo los lineamientos del Reglamento de Edificación de la Ciudad de México y los reglamentos municipales pertinentes, se plantea la construcción de dos estructuras elÃpticas de tres niveles en un terreno irregular de 15,388 m2. Esta propiedad se encuentra en una zona de transición, cercana al centro histórico y la principal zona residencial de la ciudad, según la zonificación geotécnica. El objetivo principal es revitalizar la identidad de los habitantes y promover la conciencia ambiental y la sustentabilidad. La falta de esta conciencia se refleja en la degradación de los espacios ecológicos disponibles y en las actividades perjudiciales de jóvenes y adultos, que dan un mal ejemplo a las generaciones más jóvenes. Abordar este problema requiere un cambio desde el núcleo cultural hacia el núcleo social para hacer frente al calentamiento global y sus consecuencias.

Los autores de esta obra deseamos que sea de utilidad en las actividades de los ganaderos productores de rumiantes en el trópico para mejorar el rendimiento de su ganado.

The capacity of a particular system can be determined by queueing theory based on the probability idea. A method of optimization cannot be used to describe the application of queueing theory. It aids in making the best possible use of the currently available staff and other resources to enhance the service. El aporte de este libro es el compendio de la información de investigaciones originales y de fondo sobre el deterioro testicular de verracos destinados a la inseminación artificial en el centro de transferencia genética, en donde los verracos estuvieron en condiciones medioambientales de trópico en el estado de Guerrero México, en 2 años los verracos fueron evaluados en base al diagnóstico ecográfico, termográfico, anatomopatológico y su efecto deletéreo en la calidad del semen. ante este escenario, el libro aporta los conocimientos valiosos y necesarios para entender la falla en la funcionalidad testicular de los verracos en condiciones de trópico desde la comprensión de su anatomÃa y fisiologÃa, control endocrino, espermatogénesis, patologÃa, factores que determinan la calidad seminal y control en la termorregulación testicular, que conllevan al proceso patológico de daño de las gónadas del verraco.
