The book "The Journey to the Land of Yesteryear" tells the story of a 4-year-old girl named Flora who travels to the Land of Yesteryear with a talking donkey. Flora lives in a modern house with her family who have made everything very technologically oriented. But Flora is not enthusiastic about the constant changes and wishes that things stay the way they are. One day, a talking donkey appears and invites Flora to travel with him to the Land of Yesteryear. Though hesitant, Flora decides to make the journey. Together with the donkey she crosses the country and experiences many adventures. During her journey, Flora learns what life was like in the past, before modern technology existed. She learns how to communicate without electronic devices, how to prepare food, and how to orientate herself in the countryside. Flora gains confidence and independence as she learns to support herself and overcome challenges. History shows that change doesn't always have to be bad, and that it is important to be open to new experiences. Flora learns that it's okay to remember the old days, but that it's also important to appreciate the benefits of the modern world. The book contains many lovely illustrations that support the plot and stimulate the reader's imagination. It's a wonderful story for preschool and elementary age children that explores the topic of change and adaptation in a fun and sensitive way.

In this poignant collection of poems, Brian Arsenault explores the depths of human emotions and the fleeting nature of life. Poems from A Life is a journey through moments of longing, regret, and solitude, capturing the essence of existence with delicate words and vivid imagery. From the quiet anticipation of Great Blue Herons waiting for the changing tide to the profound melancholy of Regret reaching back too late, Arsenault's words evoke powerful emotions that resonate with the reader. Loneliness takes shape on a dark, windy jetty, while the flickering candle in the dark becomes a symbol of resilience. The poems delve into the natural world, with wind-whipped waves across the sound and fog wisps chasing away the water. Each verse is a snapshot, capturing the beauty and transience of the world around us and fog wisps chased by a June breeze. Arsenault's observations evoke a sense of wonder whether it's the blush of blossoming Hydrangea Hortensia or the sliver of light that once filled a room. Love and connection find their place in these pages as well. From the tender moment of Light, soft as a first kiss to the simple reassurance of being present in She Asks, Where are you, these verses remind us of the power of human connection and the need for companionship. Amidst the introspection, the collection also offers reflections on the passing of time and the inevitability of change.

A father's role is vital for his children. When that bond is missing, it is difficult for a child to connect to God's unconditional love. This book is about how God became my Heavenly Father by placing men in my life to teach me how to become a man, husband and father by the lives they led. This is my journey of becoming God's son and the man He intended for me to be.If you grew up fatherless, my prayer is that you will allow God the Father to reveal Himself to you and take any hurt and emptiness away.My hope is that you will identify the men and women God places in your path to help you learn how to become the person He designed you to be. Instead of feeling fatherless, may you realize that you too are FATHERMORE, as you celebrate God's goodness and the other fathers He places in your life to fill any earthy void.May you, as the reader, see the value in mentoring others and find God as Father and learn about Him from your own example.- James PolnickThis book by son, father, and pastor James Polnick offers an engaging journey that will impact you in a profound way.About James Polnick: James Polnick-Pesnell is the lead pastor of LifePoint Church in Magnolia, Texas, that he and his wife, Gina, planted in 2009. Boy girl meet. Boy gets girl. Boy loses girl. Girl elopes with the Minotaur. Just one of the few story plots not to be found in this fun anthology of short stories. Romance, stone cold assassins, skirt chasing noir detectives, guitar heroes, Civil War poltergeists and naked lady holograms. They are all here. And more! Written in a crisp, wry, comfort- food style by a new, and self-important, author and denizen of the back hollows of Appalachia, these stories are inspired by the works of actual authors who wrote to put food on the table. Unlike, say, Jon Ketzner, the author of this collection. Get ready for a great read. Each tale is well told and compelling. This anthology is a fine addition to the uniquely American short story literary form. The author promises that the sequel will include a honeymooning Minotaur.
