Upanishads are verses from the Vedas that have been compiled as independent and complete sets. Those verses in the Vedas that amplify the greatness of man, his soul's journey, and his ultimate purpose are termed as Upanishads.Traditionally the verses in each Veda have been classified as Mantra portion or Brahmana portion. Mantra verses are action oriented. Brahmana verses are thinking oriented.Within the Brahmana portion, a further sub-classification of verses has been done, namely Brahmana-Aranyaka-Upanishad. Technically Brahmana means planning, discussion and analysis. Aranyaka means research and philosophy. Upanishad means essential thought or teaching or guiding principle.Upanishad verses are those that are found at the end. Thus aptly named Vedanta. Literal meaning ending-portion of the Veda. Spiritual connotation core-design-crux-essence.Ishavasya Upanishad constitutes the final chapter (40th adhy¿ya) of the Shukla Yajurveda from verse 1959 onwards, and survives in two recensions, named Kanva and Madhyandina. This book contains a lucid essence of these precious verses for the modern reader. It has a Sanskrit Grammar section where padachheda and anvaya with case-vibhakti of each word is clearly given.Lists Original Sanskrit Verses in Devanagari with an English Translation. Also gives Latin transliteration of verses, and Devanagari verses with Accents for proper chanting.

Within the Brahmana portion, a further sub-classification of verses has been done, namely Brahmana-Aranyaka-Upanishad. It gives a mathematical picture of the sacred syllable OM and its relevance to the Awaking, Udreaming and Mmmsleeping states. The Turiya or Transcendental state is described as the amatra or the fourth state, i.e. always available yet rarely discernible. This book explains the crux of the verses in easy to grasp contemporary language. Contains original verse in Sanskrit with a Latin transliteration and an English commentary. For the Sanskrit enthusiast each verse has Padachheda and Anvaya with Vibhakti cases. Our Vedas eulogize the Sun, and there are many hymns in praise of the Surya Devata. Especially, the first chapter of the Krishna Yajur Veda Taittiriya Aranyakam has come to be known in recent times as the Surya Namaskar chapter.------------------------------------------Surya Namaskar is a fundamental set of 12 postures to step into a higher state of consciousness that reflects Purity. It leads to Yoga, or the significant moment when one relaxes, absorbed in divine union.------------------------------------------The entire process comprises of ¿ A Cheerful beginning¿ Stepping onto the Yoga Mat facing EAST¿ Having a sip of Water to begin with¿ Chanting Om Suryaaya Namah-----------------------------------------It is a proven cardiovascular workout of a high order, when done at a smooth pace. When done with holding the stretch at each pose with normal breathing, it is meditative, relaxing and toning.-----------------------------------------The Sun is traditionally connected to the Manipura Chakra, known as the Navel Center, or the Solar Plexus. It is also the 2nd brain of the body, where all the nerves meet, and the place of the umbilical cord attaching every new born. We see that all the poses in the Surya Namaskar have a significant effect on the solar plexus. In other words these asanas massage, strengthen, realign, and invigorate the stomach and gut. That by default in medical parlance is the prime source of illness prevention and cure.
