In today's world, it's hard to find a novel that brings a message to us in a healthy and positive manner. I, however, worked very hard to make that possible for every reader who purchases my novel! Inspirational Stories that Spark Our Emotions and Touch the Heart and Soul is a novel about a host of highly desirable Inspirational Stories wrapped around life's circumstances that Touch the Heart and Soul and give meaning to our everyday lifestyle. The novel brings curiosity, compassion, and an uplift of encouragement to anyone who reads it. When our eyes see our hands, voice, and feet doing the work of our gifts from God, the door of our soul flies open, and love steps forth. If we conform our lives to the principles and teachings of Jesus and let his teachings guide us and live through us in our daily lives, in return, we will become a ray of beauty, in resemblance to Jesus himself. My novel is highly recommended and creatively written to bring joy and happiness to your reading adventure.

I'm an artist first and a writer second. I'm also a quilter and a gifted creative individual. My gifts come directly from our generous God. None of my quilts or artwork will survive forever, so now I write. What I write, will last and live on forever. I don't write because I'm particularly good at it. I write because I'm someone who loves to stories. I greatly enjoy telling stories. God in His Wisdom has blessed me with hundreds of stories to tell. Stories that include great sorrow, sadness, depression, joy, faith, hope, and love. We can choose to be a victim our entire lives or learn to grow through a traumatic past. God is great for that purpose. My stories cannot possibly be made up. One must experience them for full appreciation. I pray you never have to experience the trauma lived through in my youth. I'm an undeserving sinner and beggar before Christ. Yet I'm loved despite my sinful nature. I'm free because my sin died upon the cross with the death of Christ. I am loved and called to return that love to others. Something I struggle mightily with. A cross I have to pick up daily and struggle to carry. Christ took from me the punishment that I deserve. While it doesn't free me from the earthly consequences of my sin. I'm free from the ultimate death and eternal separation from Christ because of my sin. I've lived a hard life and realized I'm not alone. Many people live seemingly impossible lives and survive them. Not completely unscathed though. A wound or many wounds and scars are left behind. I write as an emotional response and release to particular events or reactions to things that take place, good and bad in my life. God has a lesson for us in everything that happens in our lifetime. Learning to love through our circumstances is key. We gain closeness to God when we understand the message of the cross. The ultimate sacrificial love. Christ chose death on the cross for our sins, because of His great love for us. There is and will be no greater love. I love both cautiously and deeply. Love often surprises and frightens me. I am God's benefactor and of His love. One thing is clear. I'm loved by the greatest love there is. Psalm 34:8 Taste and see, that the Lord is good: blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. 1 Corinthians 13:13 "So now faith Hope, and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Everyone has a story. Some stories may not impact our lives to any great degree. Others might alter our direction in unimaginable ways. Our stories are not for comparison or competition but can be extremely impactful and relevant to us. Sharing these stories can bring others insight and revelation into their own lives. Helping us to feel a part of the bigger picture, more hopeful and purposeful on our daily walk. In truth, we are never alone; God, who is all powerful is always on the journey with us. While Satan uses fear and lies trying to convince us that we are alone and abandoned, God says differently: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. Ile will not leave you or forsake you." In faith, our fears, loneliness, and insecurities can be given to God. We do this with faith in Him alone. Only He can drive away the lies, attacks, and discouragements that come our way. This helps secure safety in our storms. This is a story of God's power, God's abundant love for us and how He fiercely, clings to us unconditionally. Blessings Always!

  • - Heralding the Coming of Jesus
    av Craig Swain
    185,-

This book is written according to a standard format for screenplays. The reader will see one acceptable manner of writing a screenplay. This can be a play to the reader who may have wondered how to write his or her own screenplay. This work, however, does not have the detailed directions normally required; thus, it does not greatly tax the reading of the storyline. The Clone is about the cloning of Jesus from bloodstained threads from the Shroud of Turin in Italy. The shroud is believed by many millions to be the burial cloth of Jesus. Many more do not believe, but the mounting evidence is becoming over-whelming if you can keep up with it. The shroud has been hanging off and on display for seven hundred years, but "the face" only came alive in 1898 when a photograph was taken. The negative plate became a positive of the negative image on the shroud. The timeline of The Clone follows the life pattern of Jesus as Joshua is cloned on December 25, 1993, and dies in 2027. The storyline covers details like the meeting of the doctors of the law at age twelve and a type of baptism at age thirty. We see the succession of the popes, including the last pope, according to the prophecies of Malachi, a monk of the Middle Ages. As the story unfolds, the obvious fact that any done is not the original becomes crystal clear as the Antichrist emerges. This then heralds the end of this age and the second coming of the original and the beginning of His millennial reign for one thousand years. Swain prays that this book will be one that can be judged by its cover and hopes the reader will enjoy it as much as the author did writing it.

  • - My Aging Memories
    av Walter Sawyer
    159,-

Growing old, I have many things to be grateful for. The young lady I met after getting out of the Navy (I still can see her after fifty years), the petite five-foot skinny long brown hair to her shoulder, brunette, she wore blue slacks with a checkered blue-and-white blouse. I will never forget the first sighting of her; the monument will live in my mind forever. I am grateful for my three children, my seven grandchildren, and my five great-grandchildren. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. After the loss of my wife after thirty-one years and my firstborn, who found life too hard to handle, took the easy way out, not realizing that we all belong to someone other than ourselves; yes, it is my life, but is it? Who do we leave behind, and what are the repercussions of it? Without a doubt, people's lives will be changed. I have many memories of our adventures, traveling to the many states across the United States of America. "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page" (St. Augustine). No one wants to live in the past. Anyone who is above the age of seventy has lived to tell you this is true. The worst thing about growing old is the ones you leave behind. Even worse are the items they left behind: the items you can touch remembering who gave them to you or the items you gave to them. For every house that has lost someone, their ghost or angel is still there walking around keeping you warm, a breath of fresh air with a scent when there is no scent for you to smell. Most individuals live on memories, wishing they could do some of their past again. My book is about life, and I am sharing it with you. I have made many mistakes; maybe you can adjust your life to make it a little better for those you care for.

  • - The Birth Of America
    av Walter Sawyer
    169,-

There must be a greater power than all of us. In 1607, an Indian named Squanto was kidnapped from his village. He was taken across the ocean, where he lived with a monk name, Brother Daniel, for fourteen years. His dealings with the monks, learning a new way of life, enabled him to change his outlook on life. Squanto learned the sensitivity of being tactful and sympathetic to others. While Squanto was with Brother Daniel, he met William Bradford and John Carver while staying at the monastery. He escaped to a ship, going back to America in time to meet with the Pilgrims there. In 1608, four hundred English Protestants were exiled to Leiden, Holland. Dissatisfied with the Church of England, they had hopes of reaching the promised land. The reason for coming to America was not for religious freedom but religious persecution. William Bradford (the colonies' governor) wrote, "Advancing the kingdom of Christ to a new part of the world." Squanto found his village wiped out from disease, leaving the huts empty. He suggested the Pilgrims occupy them that first winter; only forty-two Pilgrims survived out of 102. When the Pilgrims landed in America, the Indians began to squabble between each other. Acting as a go-between as tempers escalated, Squanto was quoted as saying: "We live on the same earth." "We live under the same moon." "We breathe the same air." "Why can't we get along?" For the next fifty years, harmony existed between the settlers and the Indians.

I currently reside in Texas where I have established my home and lead a solitary life. I am 28-year survivor of HIV which contracted through a blood transfusion while serving in the military in 1983, following an oral surgery procedure. In my retirement, I have dedicated my time to fishing, engaging in home improvement projects, and pursuing my long-standing passion for writing songs and poems which I have honed over a period of 35 years. I also would like to dedicate this book to my older sister, Alice, who is turning 70 this year.As an individual imbued with a strong sense of spirit, I believe that all of us possess an innate potential for compassion, albeit to varying degrees. Through my poetry, I seek to convey this inherent quality to those who may not be fully aware of it, but who need gentle reminders that they too are capable of empathy. I trust that my literary works will bring peace of mind and awareness to individuals navigating the stresses of our fast-paced, ephemeral existence, and provide solace by imbuing hope for a better tomorrow, informed by my personal experiences. Ultimately, my objective is to leave behind a brief legacy that inspires others to connect with their humanity and the compassion that resides within them.

Life's Ragin' Storms, based on a true story chronicles the lives of several African American and Caucasian families that resided in the segregated parish of Cameron, located along the southwestern Gulf coast of Louisiana. The narrative commences with the Bartie family struggles, triumphs, and hardships, tragedies and emotional stress encountered during the depression era of the late 1930's preceding the climactic year of 1957. On June 27th, this country's fifth worst destructive hurricane named Audrey ravaged the Cameron coast claiming well over 500 victims in her aftermath. A product of extensive historical, genealogical, cultural and geographical research, coupled with personal interviews and conversations from members of the Bartie, Harrison, January, Miller and Nunez lineage, the author brings to life an intriguing flavor and vitality of that region, culture, and time period. The work clearly accentuates numerous family values, morals and indeed a devout reverence to God, which empowered these profound group of people to persevere and push forward in a very restricted environment, in addition to weathering the turbulent winds and drenching rain that terrorized their livelihoods. This enthralling and powerful inspirational work authenticates life's rigorous transitions as well as the manner in which each character dealt with their own adversities. Life's Ragin' Storms, truly an inspiring African American family memoir!

Belonging to a segregated, underprivileged, rural, but blessed community, I grew up with what I had. Playing in the mud, climbing trees, and building toys with tree branches was how I spent my childhood with my friends. Coming from an illiterate background did not stop me from becoming the first person in my family to graduate college. I soon left my father's farm to fulfill my dream of becoming a pilot. The pathway to my dream was, however, filled with trials as I almost dropped out of A&T University. I persevered and refused to let disappointments nibble at my dream. This is the story of a poor, suburban boy traveling to the big world of the Air Force and becoming one of its most precedented pilots.

Derk Mattocks was raised during a time when the fight for social justice was at its peak in the United States. Instead of shying away, he learned to challenge the circumstances and not let them dictate how he would live his life. Of course, Derk would say while he does not consider himself a fighter, there was something innate that led him to the top of a career field that was inaccessible to people of color during that Jim Crow period, a period meant to marginalize African Americans by denying them the right to vote, hold jobs, get an education or other opportunities. This was by no means an easy task, considering the opposition he faced trying to bring some normalcy in such a chaotic and dangerous environment in which he lived.Reflecting on his childhood, Derk acknowledges that he would not be one-tenth of the man he is now if it were not for his schoolteachers and community role models. They were genuine, in their teaching, nurturing, caring, and preparing him for any path he chose to take. They taught him how and where to look, but left it up to him to assess and act on his findings. They taught him diligence. Derk firmly believes that for anyone to reach his or her greatest potential, he/she must first be opened to mentoring and insights that show them how to tackle and manage challenging situations. He attributes his ability to convert challenges into opportunities to his schooling and mentoring at Belgrade Elementary, Silverdale Elementary, and Georgetown High. His sincerest wish is to live his life with dignity and respect while gaining more wisdom in the process.
