In this book, the author discloses experiences in his life when he was making and relying on his own personal decisions prior to his commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is his desire that these stories will enlighten us, to show us how ineffective our own thoughts and decisions can be without the Holy Spirit as our guide. His desire is to encourage us to allow the Holy Spirit to come into our lives by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to guide our thoughts and intentions.The author, formerly of Rochester, New York, lives in Kingston, New York, with his wife, Jacqueline (Jacquie). They attend King's Fire Church in nearby Lake Katrine, New York.His spiritual journey comprised various ministries, including the prison ministry that took in three correctional facilities. He also served in leadership in his local church and led a small-group Bible study in his home.His present ministry is a monthly letter that includes a Prophetic Word, followed by "A Closer Look" at the Word.

An annual bow hunting trip for elk into the deep mountains of Montana between two friends is an adventure that is greatly anticipated by both. All of the preparation and hard work put in is essential in helping them to be prepared for the grind that elk hunting is physically and mentally. The mountains are rugged and unforgiving for those who come unprepared for the demands they present.This trip would prove to be the greatest hunt of my life for many reasons. Every day was filled with the beauty of God's creation-the sights, sounds, and smells of the fall mountains, along with many encounters with game animals of all types; some wanted and some unwanted and at some very uncomfortable distances.This trip would have moments of excitement, success, joy, danger, fear and, ultimately, a tragedy that set me on a walk unlike any walk I have ever taken before in my life, a walk that would change my life forever.

The love of God has been an issue throughout my lifetime and perhaps since the beginning of time. I questioned God's love for me, my family, and humanity in general. I drifted from a Baptist church to a Pentecostal church to finally a Charismatic church, and in every one, the love of God was questioned, assumed, and in most cases, sorely misrepresented. The content of this book is a result of the cry of my heart to God.If God is a god of love, how can He send people to hell, why aren't my prayers answered, why is there so much suffering in the world and hypocrites in the church, etc.?I believe the contents of this book answers a lot of these questions. It may not answer all questions, but where this book does not answer questions, it will set the reader on the right path to seeking the answer.

I Heard the Tales on Christmas Day is composed of twenty Christmas stories. My daughter suggested the title, and I loved it. Christmas is a delightful time of year. Christmas stories allow you to enjoy that pleasure at any time.Every story is distinctly different from all of the others. Those who have read them say this book has stories for everyone. The Journey of Redeeming Love has been sitting for a long time. God spoke to Sandee in 2015 when she retired about writing this devotional. Acknowledging the AuthorJean Abernathy-Smith is the proud author of this book of poems that rhyme. She has been writing poems for about forty-five years. With that being said, never in her wildest dreams did she think that her poems would ever be published. Now that she knows that they are now being published, here are some facts about Jean, the author.She was born on June 24, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up on a street called Hazlett. In 1974, she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, and settled in a small community called Highland Hills Village. She joined the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in 1982, where she is still a member today. Her two previous church homes were Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan, and Temple Baptist Church of Cleveland, Ohio.After being a long-time employee of Ohio Bell and AT&T and becoming active in her community, she became very interested in the political arena. She became a member of the Advisory Council of the Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility. Another organization she was appointed to was the Warrensville Heights City School District Family Community Action Engagement Committee. She also became a member of the Greater Cleveland Congregational Educational Committee. She was elected to the Warrensville Heights School Board in 1999 and later became the vice president and president, which was a great honor. In 2011, she was then elected to Highland Hills Village Council where she served as their vice president and president before becoming their senior director for the senior department in December 2017.Poet Jean Abernathy-Smith has received numerous recognitions and awards over the years: "Who's Who among Professionals," first edition of Who's Who in Black Cleveland Magazine, Call and Post Newspaper, AT&T Global Award, Outstanding School Board Member Award, and The Warrensville Heights City School District Booster Club Award. She also was awarded the Citizen's Award and the Employee of the Year award for the year 2020.Jean is a wife, mother, and grandmother.
