It's one of those stories written in the "second person" In this genre of books, "You " the reader, are invited to choose where the adventure goes from two, sometimes three, possibilities As the stories began,"You" have entered a cross country race called the, Cold Island Challenge. The race takes place on an imaginary Island off the coast of South America.and begins in the town of Wood Junction and ends in New Spice City, 100 miles away, To reach New Spice City, you must climb mountains; swim across lakes and rivers; hike through the jungle; fend off gators, crocks, snakes, bulls and the elements.You will bicycle across the scorching desert, get lost in a cave and find treasure in a mine. You'll meet Thorny and his spider, Matilda. You just might discover evidence of an outlaw bunch; and camp on a mountaintop. Will you discover and translate the writings on an ancient stone slab? Dangerous situations you encounter will have you talking to yourself. As you move through the challenge, you will uncover certain histories and mysteries of the island. Survival techniques are based, loosely, on proven methods, You will come to "The End", many times, sometimes as a winner, sometimes is a survivor. .Remember, when you reach, "The End", return to the the page you came from and make another choice.
