Thomas Hardy OM (2 June 1840 - 11 January 1928) was an English novelist and poet. A Victorian realist in the tradition of George Eliot, he was influenced both in his novels and in his poetry by Romanticism, including the poetry of William Wordsworth. He was highly critical of much in Victorian society, especially on the declining status of rural people in Britain, such as those from his native South West England. While Hardy wrote poetry throughout his life and regarded himself primarily as a poet, his first collection was not published until 1898. Initially, he gained fame as the author of novels such as Far from the Madding Crowd (1874), The Mayor of Casterbridge (1886), Tess of the d'Urbervilles (1891), and Jude the Obscure (1895).

Sharley the Sea Turtle was created in response to my volunteer turtle tracking experiences on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. During evening beach clean ups, I met many visitors to the island of all ages, who seemed to have the same general questions and heart felt concern and curiosities about the sea turtles, the beach and the ocean. This haiku story is intended to be an educational tool and I sincerely hope this story helps to shine some light on the challenges the turtles face in their cycle of life and what we humans may do raise our awareness to help them and love them. life and death mattersfor their species to survivethey all need our helpour kindness and loveto help preserve their futureLONG LIVE SEA TURTLES!Available to purchase in both hard cover and soft cover versions.8 x10 Format, Full Color, 24 pages*this book is named after Goldie Bear Sharley Princessa Sassafras, aka Sharley Bear, Coconut Bear, Adventure Girlie, Sweet P, who loved making sand angels on the beach. With infinite love xxx

Xenophon (431-355 BC), son of Gryllus, of the deme Erchia of Athens, was a soldier, mercenary and an admirer of Socrates. He is known for his writings on the history of his own times, the sayings of Socrates, and the life of Greece. He participated in the expedition led by Cyrus the Younger against his older brother, the emperor Artaxerxes II of Persia, in 401 BC. His record of the entire expedition against the Persians and the journey home was titled Anabasis (The Expedition or The March Up Country). He was later exiled from Athens, most likely because he fought under the Spartan king Agesilaus against Athens at Coronea. The Spartans gave him property at Scillus, near Olympia in Elis, where he composed the Anabasis.

AFRIKA will den Kuchen zurück.

A Lagoon of Dreams is a book of poetry and accompanying artwork that has a uniquely lush and dreamy, somewhat surreal feeling throughout. It is meant to stir the reader's imagination and heart-strings, and aims to do so by the use of vivid, colorful words and descriptions, as well as through subject matters that range from love to tragedy, miracles and personal struggles. All subjects are approached in a dreamlike way. Think of them as fleeting thoughts coming in and out of the author's subconscious mind, and you will get a picture of how the poems were created. The writer tends to use odd combinations of vocabulary that still seem to somehow work in a fresh and unusual way. The images are a collaborative effort by the author and a dear artist friend of hers, and like the poems, the images tend to lean towards surrealism and fantasy. In short, you are getting to visit the author's dream world in glimpses, which can be, but are not always pleasant. However, all hold some form of beauty if you look closely enough.

I'd like to welcome you to Contrary to Popular Belief. This book is derived from personal experiences; things I have pondered and many conversations I have had with brothers about some of the misconceptions that are prevalent in society. Some of these social colloquialisms we have bought into are simply not true; hence the title. So let me tell you what this book isn't; this book isn't about men bashing women. This book isn't the ultimate relationship guide nor is it a book telling sisters how to keep a man. This book is a myth buster disspelling some of the societal untruths that have plagued men. This book gives insight and maybe even hindsight into the hearts and minds of men. This book shows that men aren't much different than women and often times want the same things, they just go about them differently. This book is straightforward yet empathic and contrary to what you might believe.

David Crittendon's historic blues novella, THEN SEE IF I CARE: A Story About Bessie Smith, makes you feel her yearning down to your bones. This is no low-down, foot-dragging dirge. With prose that rings true to African American idiom yet resounds with Crittendon's singular poetic voice, THEN SEE IF I CARE is by turns defiant, bawdy, mocking, starkly bitter, and jubilant, initiating us into an encounter with the woman behind the legend.

On the European front, World War II was raging, but the United States had not yet entered the conflict. For six-year-old Lu, her idyllic childhood of farmyard pets, toadstools, and tree stump castles would change drastically with news of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Told from the perspective of a young girl, the historical fiction closely follows the true stories of families in rural western Washington during the 1940s.

This is not a book 'about' Mary Magdalene. It is not focused on Her in the past or from stories, although some of them are included here. It takes the form of a living dialogue with Her. She is the counterpart of Jesus and she knew and knows all that He is. They are eternally united. However, she brings Her own wisdom into this writing. Here, She is appealing to us all to know our Inner Light which She is representing by the light in Her womb. She is a Force of Love for our times because She helps us realize the Living Christ within each of us through Divine love, wisdom and blessings. This writing brings Her into your awareness as an intimate friend of your soul, which She is.The words in this book have been given in Joy and Love to flow into your heart to help you know yourself as the Light you truly are.
