The book is about the observation of the use of technology and the importance of manners.

"Nobody Likes Monday", is a story about the first day of the week, "Monday." Monday shares her emotions of sadness as others feel sad when she is around or when the day has begun. Monday introduces her family one by one with positivity. While talking to her mommy, she comes to find that she is just as special too.

The importance of spending time with the FatherFor the true believer it is of utmost importance to spend time with our Father. Spending time with God allows one to experience moments that one may rarely encounter. In God's presence we are changed for the better and only He gets the glory. "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11 ESV).The Christian lifestyle is based upon a relationship with our Father through his only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ. The more hours and days spent with him develops a solid relationship that are built on a firm foundation. As Christians one must be intentional about the way one manages one's time. The same way we invest time with our loved ones, friends, and acquaintances, is the same way we get to know God better.When we stay focused and keep our mind on him, he promises to keep us in perfect peace. Having a heart for God will allow one to understand the purpose and plan that He has for one's life. It is imperative for the Christian to understand that the sole purpose of spending time with the Father is to get to know him. Knowing God intimately makes way for the believer to conform to his image.The garden is a significant place to meet God. It was the first place that he placed humankind to develop. In my father's garden there is a tone to re-establish an atmosphere for a connection or a reconnection with God. The garden of Eden was to be an earthly paradise occupied by humankind. God desires that same relationship with the modern-day Christian. "Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7:25 ESV).

Living through a solid share of significant, historical events, I must admit it has been a hell of an exciting, history-filled life. The Great Depression, World WW II, my combat in the Korean War, Vietnam, the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the amazing technological breakthroughs, McCarthy times, the Kennedys, Nixon, the Clintons, the Bushes, 9/11, Trump, the turmoil with Russia and the Ukraine, the pandemic and "January 6" all contributed to the drama of living. My personal impressions and memories of people I knew of those times are included in this collection. For those too young to have experienced the times, I hope the stories bring some enlightenment. For those who were "there" during those events, I hope to restore some cherished memories

On a warm July day in 1979, a sixteen-year-old named Jeffrey Carrier visited the old Donnelly Cemetery in Johnson County, Tennessee, a rural county in the northeast corner of the state. He was there for more than an hour, wandering from stone to stone, writing down every name, date and epitaph. It was the beginning of a project that took him six years to complete, and when it was done, he had visited 282 cemeteries in the county and recorded more than 10,000 names. The information was published in 1985 and has been aiding genealogists and historians ever since. The original edition was a limited printing, and most of those copies have fallen apart and are no longer extant. Except for another limited printing in 2012, the book has mostly been unavailable for use. This professionally-printed edition changes that, as the information is now available to everyone, everywhere who can trace their family roots back to Johnson County, Tennessee or who has an interest in cemeteries.

These are bible studies of a limited scale, developed and led by the author with two of the congregations he served. The first congregation was in Mantua OH in the late 1970s, from which the first three bible studies arose: Ruth, Lamentations, and The Infancy Narratives. The second congregation was in New Martinsville WV from 1998 through 2003, these being done is a slightly different style: Psalms of Ascent, Selected Psalms, The Speech of Stephan, Encountering God, Matthew 5 and Matthew 6 & 7. I sought to bring a serious, somewhat scholarly approach to the study of the bible among those congregation members who chose to attend. This revisiting of those studies prove once again their value to me. I hope they prove to be so for you as well.
