In this book Poetic Pete(tm), AKA Peter Karplus(tm), author of Dancing with Fear, Rejection, Doubt, and Hope, and A Potpourri of Poems, uses free verse, haiku, iambic pentameter, and rhyme and an amazingly sensitive understanding dipped in his own brand of humor as he explores nature and its brilliance, and covers subjects of family and friends, making dedications to those people in his life who have held special meaning to him as well as illuminating the many shades of love and the range of emotions that are its bedfellows. Then, he follows with a selection of religion tenured poems ranging from the obtuse to the obvious. He goes on to show us a look inward into his life and people's reactions, to his speech impediments and bent body, that he has had to enlighten and change with his lifelong-learned teachings, and amazing understanding. He, then, continues with a selection of assorted poems that range from the comical to the serious aspects of life, followed by a few poems that take a surreal look at the world. Poetic Pete then welcomes us with several of his latest lyrics spanning subjects such as love, heartbreak, and even politics. And in conclusion, he ends the book with a couple short stories

BROWN COUNTY STORIESSome Personal RecollectionsThe purpose of this book is to share some of the fun and interesting things that happened when I was growing up in Brown County. The stories offered here were told to my five daughters around campfires and at many bedtime sessions as they were growing up. They requested that I tell them over and over again. They heard these stories, and many others like them, so many times they said they felt like they actually grew up with Cobweb, and Virgil, and Hazel, and Sis, and Bobby, and Stretch. After many retellings I was once obliged to let my youngest daughter know that I had told her everything I could remember, or even make up. To which she replied, "e;OK then, just start over."e;The various accounts of these uncommon experiences were reinforced for my daughters when they visited their grandmother who lived in Nashville, the County Seat of Brown County, and were able to explore the territory where they took place. All of these stories are based on things that actually happened to me and other live people in the good old days in Brown County. They are as true as creative memory will allow.

Sacred Ground is the sequel to Death's Bright Angel, Part One: The Prophecy. The novel incorporates characters from both the Blackthorn and Silverwood Trilogies., tying together all of the author's previous novels. There are two Time Streams: 2016 and 2018/19, so the past and present are juxtaposed. As the story opens, Dr. Glen Abbott has awakened from a coma following surgery to remove a benign lesion from his brain, only to realize that he is now living two plus years in the past (2016). His young daughter, Hannah, after her transformation into the supreme spiritual being, Gaia Magni, during Samhain, The First Rite of Winter (2018), has sent him back in time to relive a portion of his life over again to free him from the heartbreak and despair of losing his wife and daughter. But there are numerous challenges ahead for Abbott as he attempts to navigate his way through his second life with knowledge of the future before him. Gaia Magni is the fulfillment of a Druid Prophecy. A supreme spiritual being, she is charged with restoring harmony and balance to Nature and preventing an Apocalypse, a Sixth Extinction Level Event (ELE) as the result of humanity's relentless assault on Mother Earth. Armed with the Wisdom of the Ancients and the power of Dark Energy, Gaia Magni is truly omnipotent with powers unimaginable. She begins her campaign to rescue Earth and the Biosphere by first demonstrating her power to the world by affecting a global blackout that turns the Earth into a Black Marble. Though an "enlightened spirit", Gaia Magni makes it clear to everyone that she is prepared, if necessary, to wipe humanity from the face of the Earth in order to protect the millions of other species in the Biosphere on the brink of extinction as a result of humanity's wanton destruction of the natural world. But there are those in governments and billion-dollar corporations who vigorously oppose the Rules of Natural Law that Gaia Magni has imposed and resist The Way Forward. They are intent on keeping their wealth and power at all costs, even if it means the end of humanity...

Robert D. Garcia recalls his adventures as an undercover narcotics officer in this memoir.Prior to working undercover, he worked in patrol, in crime scene investigation, as a fingerprint examiner, police instructor, firearms instructor, and even as an international police officer with the United Nations. While he enjoyed those jobs, it wasn't until he became an undercover agent that he felt at home.Working along the southern border in New Mexico and Texas, his decades in law enforcement taught him that the majority of crime in the United States is the result of the illegal narcotics trade-and taking drugs off the streets makes an impact. He highlights a number of topics, including misconceptions about undercover agents, preparing for an undercover role, operations, and how technology has become so critical to law enforcement. He also shares accounts from other law enforcement agents, detailing the good and bad side of humanity.Whether you're in law enforcement, interested in entering the field, or curious about what it takes to be an undercover agent, you'll enjoy The Thin Blue Line.

The story is about a young lady, Marie, in her desperate search for love in the wrong places and with the wrong guys whose preference is in playing the field, rather than building a serious relationship. To find love, she had to pay a heavy price, going from fantasyland to hellish pain and heartaches. Engaging in hitching up, and being ditched by slippery slope no-good men within and outside her college neighborhood. The beauty of her story is that she inexplicably found her dream man when she least expected it. Her best friend and former roommate, Elisa, was finally sick of watching her going from one bad apple to another and decided to literally take the bull by the horns and introduce her to her fiancé's boss, Greg. An all-around, successful, wholesome, and compassionate young man who took her into his arms, loved and proposed to her, and eventually married her. The pages of this book would take the reader through her love life, her persistence and zeal to find love, her pain and pleasures in searching for passionate loving relationships, and her final transformation into a fabulous, and nurturing woman in the quest for continuous growth and development. A determination to love and cherish herself, her romantic husband, and her children. The take-away for people like herself would be to view her story as a GPS and use bits of her experiences as a road map in navigating detours and anguish in love relationships. Marie's recipe is not perfect for everybody, but it worked magic for her. The only way to find out is by checking out the pages and seeing for oneself. If nothing else, enjoy her heart-warming pleasurable story and share it with your fellow feministic divas and their lovers.
