Brooklyn Poly disappeared as a university because it treated its students poorly, while IIT is doing fine. At IIT we had many excellent PhD students described in this book. IIT had an advantage over other universities by having research institutes on campus. It attracted many excellent PhD students paid for by IITRI. They worked on weapons development mainly, such as how to shoot down missiles. They had a large contract during President Reagan time. I just believe all of us has had at least a split-second experience with the uncomfortable and depressive thought of giving up. Especially when we encounter one unexpected storm after another unexpected storm. These destructive vampires of spiritual warfare are real and they still exist as we speak. The careless mistake we make sometimes is when we do not properly suit ourselves with the whole armour of God. If the enemy can enter the doors of our cognitive flow, our thoughts, then it will give the devil more footage to start operating in our hearts. This is when the enemy has a better chance to inject a slow killing poison into our hearts that will eventually cause us to feel like giving up. In this life, I have learned through my personal walk, it is normal to feel like giving up. We might give out but work hard to never ever give up!

Their remarkable careers would make the dean proud. One quasi-Lost Boy, Tim, suffers demonstrably from Peter Pan Syndrome. In 2016, almost fifty years since the Lost Boys were all together at a San Francisco Forty Niners football game in 1969, they have a "e;seventy-year-olds"e; reunion at their campus, filled with adventures, mishaps, and renewed camaraderie. The week-long reunion concludes, and heartfelt farewells dominate. Does Tim beat the Syndrome? Will there be another reunion with all eight of the Lost Boys?
About Me and The Honolka StoryAccording to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, a writer is 'one who expresses ideas in writing' or 'one engaged in literary work. 'An author is 'a person who writes a novel, poem, essay etc., the composer of a literary work. 'I do not consider myself an author or writer. I do not even enjoy reading for pleasure. If you find errors in grammar or punctuation, please note I, Sharon Honolka, am also not an English major. What I am is Eva's Honolka Newman's sister-in-law that was asked to put "e;her stuff"e; in some type of order. This process started May of 2019. As of February 2, 2021, I have fulfilled my promise to Eva Honolka Newman and retained Author House for publication. Materials have been gathered from various sources. You will read duplications, especially when you start reading her speeches as they appeared in local newspapers. Eva was a remarkable patriotic public speaker that love the United States of America and respected The American Flag. Recently I was asked by a relative, "e;who are you getting to edit the book"e;? Curious to the response, I asked, "e;what does an editor do"e;? It was quiet. Then they said, "e;well, they take out what they don't think should be there, or re-word a sentence"e;. My response was, "e;I don't want anything removed or re-worded"e;. What people will be reading was handwritten by family matriarch, Eva Honolka Newman, her brothers, sister, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Numerous newspaper articles were re-typed, word for word, giving credit to the source and writer. This book is a nonfiction narrative writing based on personal memories. By the time you finish reading, you will have walked in the shoes of John and Jarmila Honolka and their five children. You will have retraced the steps taken by the seven Honolka's through the trials, tribulation, distress, frustration, and suffering of a family seeking freedom. Endless hours, days, weeks, and months have been spent gathering articles, asking questions, documenting responses, and verifying facts. I thank my husband, Don Honolka for his time and patience. Often taking him back to many unpleasant memories. Without the positive support of Don, and the guidance of my "e;Heavenly Father"e; telling me "e;You Can Do This,"e; this task would not have been completed. Don also told me, "e;You are going to have to have thick skin because you will be criticized and people will remember events differently"e;. Fortunately, I am just repeating Eva's words. When it comes to an individual some can be define as a statistics while others are made to stand out backing up the definition of unique. statistics says I should have died, statistics says i was supposed to suffer from down syndrome. Statistics says i wouldnt be able to walk or talk, statistics told my mom to prepare to bury a child but our GOD said otherwise. Every statistics that was thrown at me never prospered instead, the exact opposite happened and what the doctors didnt expect to happen had fortunately actually happened. However i struggled with a disability but not how others assumed Id struggle for it was more of a mental struggle then a physical struggle. although Im labeled as a disabled person my appearance may, will, shall fool you and throughout this book (and more to come) it will tell you why you should never judge a book by its cover regardless of who or what a person may appear to be for looks can, will be deceiving.

Several years ago, I was diagnosed and consequently had surgery for spinal stenosis. This condition forced me to spend more time at home. I became tired of watching the same reality shows over and over and began thinking of my own life. Over the course of three years I began to write down my memories and those of my sister Eleftheria. I soon realized it was quite the story. All the names, places and dates of this book are real and truthful. Every incident described in this book was witnessed by me or confirmed by members of my immediate or extended family. The horrible truth is that we lived in hellish indignation. After WWII and during the Greek Civil War, in many instances the hatred intensified and the fear took over. I witnessed fathers and sons turning on each other and even go as far as shooting one another. Everyone was dressed alike. One couldnt discern friend from foe. If you were asked a question and gave the wrong answer; you had better start praying. For 10 whole years we lived in a chaotic, dangerous and corrupted environment. I witnessed arson and death. I even saw people tortured with hot oil and slashings. All these experiences culminated into excruciating nightmares that have haunted and continue to haunt me all my life. This book is about the war and two families, the Papaioannou and the Kalogeras families, which battled hunger, sickness, resentment, immigration and death.
