'Humble Anecdote of the Invisible' is the final part of my condensed 'Lebenswelt Studies', necessarily autobiographical, and centred mostly on what amounted to a 'mesocosm' -an intermediary spiritual -world, between the macrocosm and microcosm, by artists, thinkers, poets and dancers who founded an experimental community, the 'Hill of Truth' in Ascona, during the early onset of Modernism, and later at Eronos, the intellectual and aesthetic hub founded by Olga Frobe in Ascona in 1933, to discuss the most pressing issues of the times: the nature of body and soul, social norms, religious belief, relationships, value of life, the human spirit, art and creativity; and their eventual making of an alternative spiritual and intellectual history of the twentieth century.

  • - Shaping the Future of 'Poverty Economy'
av Dunya Ahmed & Mohamed Buheji
    239,-

The economy of poverty is beyond having enough material possessions or income for a person's needs. Poverty has been the challenge for many countries, economies and communities. With the rapid developments of 'poverty elimination' efforts, the quest for understanding more about the economy of poverty is increasing from both academics and practitioners of different speciality. This project foresight and shapes the future poverty economy. The book shows how to eliminate poverty and human inequalities that limit many people from accessing vital resources. This is highly essential, if we want future generations to be more resilient and ready for the coming threats of the different forms of poverty. In 'Shaping the Future of Poverty Economy', Dr Buheji & Dr Ahmed explore how the current and future types of poverty can bring in opportunities towards major complicated socio-economic solutions. The Inspiration Labs set the framework in how to deal with all the rising situations of poverty, not just to eliminate the current extreme ones. The book sees 'poverty elimination' from different perspectives with a focus on poverty as an issue that reflects a failure in realising the human wealth and the profound knowledge accumulated in today and future poverty.

"Just add a bit of this, Lata, then add a bit of that."My mother never used a recipe. One of my earliest memories is hopping up on the kitchen worktop to watch her as she cooked. She produced amazing food for us all from the vast recipe repository in her mind-to her, cooking was as instinctive as breathing. As I grew up, she would spend hours in the kitchen cooking for us all, and I was usually to be found perched on top of the kitchen table, watching what she was doing. One of the first dishes I made was paneer pakora, a type of Indian snack, and seeing the joy on everyone's faces as they ate them is a memory I treasure. My roots have strongly influenced what and how I cook. My upbringing has made me who I am today, and I'm eternally grateful to my parents for teaching me not only how to cook but also all about my heritage. On our regular visits to Nani and Nana in India, I fell in love with an Indian street food called pani puri, which we used to eat in the street outside the cinema before going to watch the latest Bollywood film. They're still one of my favourite foods today. Visits to India took us all over the country, staying with relatives. I still have the notebook that contains many original family recipes in Hindi, which I carefully copied from my cousin's cookery book over the course of a long hot summer.Today, I cook for friends and family. I make an occasion out of every meal, carefully thinking about what dishes go together and considering how to serve each dish so it adds to the overall experience. It doesn't always need to be complicated. Adding in new twists and flavours can be a game changer.I hope you enjoy my recipes. They were created with love.Happy cooking!

  • - But Why?
    av Luis Mashapure
    179,-

Needless SufferingBut Why?Luis MashapureThe pinnacle of worldly success, as seen in increased knowledge and super industrialization -- Heeh?Today, pretty much all needs of man could be met if we had the resolve. Science and engineering have scaled deeper depths and higher heights while econometricians have developed sophisticated economic models ever. However, because of deeply rooted immoral attitudes and inspite of great knowledge attained, man has preferred to stash over a $1trillion in safe heavens, far away from the reach of the ordinary people. Only 4% of such money - the equivalent of $40bl - we are told - could solve humanity's basic needs or at least for the world's 3.6bl poor people.Literally, even all budding social intrapreneurs would get the capital injection they need; people would stretch themselves to innovate in un-imaginable ways. Everything would move and fly - one could say.Alas! Man has failed to share the abundant resources and all gained knowledge is being put to waste. 'Talking time is over: It's time to act'.

  • av Jeffrey Gale F R S a
    279

This is the first collection of poems by Jeffrey Gale. They range in subject from cosmic pastoral to cosmic space. The aim is to cover themes of human interest that are eternal. The dilemmas of human existence and beauties of wildlife in landscapes inspire the author. Others describe aspects of our lovely earth as metaphors for life now in his searching and questioning consciousness. He has traveled this world far and wide, making meditational paintings in inspiring places, especially Indian Himalayas. See the book covers and illustrations inside. He has lived in Devon for about twenty-five years and regards it as his spiritual home. Most of that period was spent in Totnes, so the River Dart and Dartmoor figure in some poems. "The good earth speaks through my art, whether painting or poetry, and true art must always be a mystery" (written on September 2018). Most were composed specially for our "Poetry and Music" program, held monthly and broadcast on Sound Art Radio studios in Dartington, Totnes, Devon (102.5 FM).Your feedback and appreciation are welcome.Contact me on tel. 01803-866349 (pref) or jeffrey@worldpeacegardensnet.org.

  • - An Appreciation of the Influence of Women in General, Mothers in Particular in the Light of Their Biblical Portrayal
    av Bitrus Markus Galadima Osa
    165,-

The Genius of Woman shows how women audaciously serve and save humanity, how they demonstrate creative influence and abiding commitment to providing indispensable leadership in families and communities in the banality of everyday family life, but often taken for granted, left unnoticed, and unappreciated. This book is therefore a thankful acknowledgement of the central and unique role women play in families and communities, written on behalf of grateful sons for mothers in particular and for women in general, as a token of appreciation. The book also shows how the Bible portrays women in countless inspiring roles and defining moments, at the centre and in the forefront of humanity's survival, progress and prosperity. It demonstrates the Bible's celebration of women's genius in ways many of us have not fully realized. In The Genius of Woman, we see the Bible's conception of an ideal woman, far from being an inferior human or an idle, submissive woman as many of our cultures and civilizations have tried to make us believe. The many biblical examples of hardworking, resourceful, intelligent, and courageous women having respectable voices and exerting far-reaching influence on the destiny of their families and of the society, typify the biblical conception of an ideal woman. Thus this book is also for men and all who need to understand the dignity of women, why we should all appreciate and treat them with profound respect.

This book is dedicated to my good friend Patricia Dunnigan who passed away in May 2018. At the time I was attending writing lessons and started writing this story and trying to think of a name for it, I met with Patricia on one of our regular coffee breaks. Patricia is from Bathgate and we often chatted about our families to learn that we had similar families. On that day we met for coffee, Patricia's first words were "and then the Circus came to Bathgate". This cracked us both into laughter and I told Patricia that she had inspired me for a name for my story. I am so grateful to Patricia for this. Also, to my sons Kevin, Philip and Neil Mc Gregor for their support and for putting up with me throughout this writing. Eternally grateful xx

On ending up in a too familiar situation after years of emotional and physical pain, I began searching for answers as to why all these difficulties kept happening. It was at this life threatening time that I was first approached by the energy vibration of the four archangels.Due to the fact I had always seen spirits as physical people, I didn't believe the angels instructions, but after another very special visitation where they showed themselves to me - which is no easy feat for them,- I agreed to write their words; and that's how this book manifested. As I wrote, my life began to make sense, which now enables me to live with more awareness of what part I have to play in my soul's journey opening my eyes to wonderful new possibilities. When angels speak, do you listen? I did, and now you too can experience the higher healing knowledge of how your soul's journey affects your human existence, and how you can work with your soul to ease life's impact. So give yourself permission to engage with the timeless angelic knowledge that will enable you to encounter a freedom never felt or known before.

Could it be possible that reading the psalms 42 to 50 is very relevant to understanding the revival and the cataclymic events that are happening in our world today and beyond?. Is it possible that this section of the bible does not only open a portion of prophecy but the whole end time plan of God?God is a revealer of Secrets, These psalms written by Sons of korah and Asaph will change the way you view prophecy, they will open your eyes and show you that Gods word is eternal and ever relevant both now just as when the prophets wrote it down.

I have always wanted to write children's books but I had never found the right moment, until the idea for The Christian Pirate popped into my head.I had only just moved into a new community and my family were invited to a local church. The church volunteers had organised a children's activity and dressed the children in pirates outfits. It was in that moment whilst watching the children embracing their roles that i thought, could there have ever been a Christian pirate?I also recognised that children need to be introduced to Jesus Christ in a subtle way and what better than to create a character that you would never consider to be a hero, but you could root for and in doing so, learn so much.It all seemed to make sense and I just hope it will make sense to all that choose to read this book.
