A literacy training tool for students who are learning theology and for whom English is a second language or for those who are studying theology or scripture at the parish level. The book is a textbook with over 150 words that come with a definition and an exercise. The book is illustrated with art from Australalian Indigenous students (Aboriginals), from Darwin, Australia. The book uses simple language to explain complex theological terms or biblically based concepts. It could be used in parishes, or in junior or secondary school; in small groups or in a classroom setting. The book is ecumenical in nature and written by a Catholic Dominican Religious Sister and an Anglican Priest who teaches at Nungalinya College, Darwin.

From the perspective human beings informed by the study of cosmology, there are three stages in the process of becoming: the beginning of the universe with the big bang, the origin of life on the planet, and the emergence of consciousness and rationality in homo sapiens. The volume begins with four papers by John Haught of Georgetown University, Washington, DC, looking at 'nature', 'cosmic purpose and science', 'Darwin and divine providence', and 'theology, ecology and cosmology'. From there the book is divided into three sections: Cosmology, Life and on Human Life. In this book there is an interwoveness, a constant interaction between Christian theology and Chinese religious belief on all three areas: looking at the origins and nature of life, and also human life once again from Christian and Chinese religious thought. Thus, key Christian theological thinkers such as Aquinas and Longeran are examined alongside Taoist and Buddhist figures.

Book & CD. This is a practical language development resource written in response to the needs of tertiary theological students from non-Englsih speaking backgrounds. The book can be used as a text book in a class setting or as a book for a student by themselves. The book comes with exercises and a listening text on a CD. The book includes a Foreword by Gustavo Guierrez, OP and is written by a qualified English as a second langauge - ESL - teacher.

The central thesis of the book is that there is a distinctive Wesleyan eucharistic spirituality. Looking at Wesleys's eucharistic practices, theology and sources, the writer identifies a spirituality that has a number of key themes.
