This book is based on a true story. In August 2008, two men from Nantucket went fishing for the day on the twenty-six-foot boat the Queen Bee. As they made their way back to shore, a wave tossed both men into the water. They were rescued by the Coast Guard, but the boat was believed to be lost at sea. In January 2012, the boat was discovered floating off the coast of Spain.

His Place at the Table is about my son Emilio, his cancer diagnosis at three years old, and the rollercoaster ride my husband Richard and I traveled in the attempt to save Emilio's life. In an instant, upon hearing the profoundly painful words, "your child has cancer," we took a rapid plunge into the depths of Dante's inferno, with absolutely no idea how we would ever get through this nightmare. My book recounts the highs and lows with uncommon honesty. Although my unrelenting optimism and fortitude were challenged beyond limits, I show the reader that love can be a lifeline. I go back in time and speak to my later-in-life opportunity to find meaningful love, marriage, and motherhood. Richard and I were unwavering in our commitment to one another, as grief took us into unchartered territories. Ultimately, through our spiritual strength and the expansion of our "family" by establishing the Emilio Nares Foundation, we found ways to heal and transform our lives. Emilio's Legacy continues, as the little boy who inspired a movement.

For the first time in his life finding himself unable to rely on humans, Scout is forced to venture into the wilds. He quickly learns that self-reliance is far more challenging, freeing, terrifying, and dangerous than he ever could have imagined. Exposure, uninviting humans, rival dog packs, and wild animals make every day a battle to shed his domesticity and find the will to survive.

The Stable Boy is historical fiction. It is a love story, a rags-to-riches story, an anti-racist story and a triumph over injustice story. Taking place in the antebellum South, it tells the tale of how a lowly slave... a hidden genius... defies all odds and becomes one of the richest men in America. In Pygmalion* style, the young slave is taught proper elocution and English grammar, a gift that takes him from picking cotton to dealing with some of the wealthiest and most powerful men in America. It's also a touching, tender... if unlikely... love story between two young men... one a slave, the other his owner. It takes the reader from the rural South to New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and London. It makes the incredible, credible.*Pygmalion is the George Bernard Shaw play on which the movie "MY Fair Lady" was based. It shows how the gift of language can change a guttersnipe into a princess.

As the years go by and each step I take brings me closer to the end of my journey, coupled with the advent of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, I started reconnecting with many childhood friends via social media. The past two years of isolation brought the realization that this unique era we shared in a remote village during the 50s and 60s will never be available again to future generations, and that generations born after the 50s and 60s lose the likelihood of ever having an opportunity to experience this phenomenon with each passing generation. With the encouragement of friends and acquaintances, I penned my Memories of Being a Kid from the Heights, how these experiences of ethics and morals molded our characters, and how these often comical encounters and responsibilities would benefit us while navigating life with our children. These two decades provided a lifestyle that evaporated and elapsed with each sun rotation.

All refugees flee the looming threat of extinction. This is a powerful story of one Polish family's escape from war-torn Europe after the Second World War, and the life they built as newcomers in a small community in western Canada. They brought with them the hope for a better life, but their war time experiences were a constant burden interfering with their inner peace and desire for security. The story of their lives, struggles and successes, aims to create a legacy of hope for their descendants and anyone with a similar cultural history or experience. It is a must read for those wanting an understanding of that era, as well as seeing how the experiences of this family were reflective in many ways to today's ongoing refugee crisis.

Would you believe if someone told you there is another reality? Would you believe me if I said there is another world out there, where people possess certain abilities enabling them to manipulate the weather, natural elements, and even human emotions? If your answer is not 'no' to those questions, you must be living an interesting life. Not long ago I would have said 'no' too, without hesitation. It all changed, however, when a couple of weeks ago I was thrust into that very world, with having no clue how or why I got there, what I was supposed to do, or how to get back to my normal life. And there was no guide to help me manoeuvre through my suddenly upturned life, either. A nuisance, really. Complications didn't end there, though. A good thing too, we wouldn't want life to get boring. So, on top of finding out about the existence of a whole new world, I soon found myself in the middle of an eight-month-long kidnapper case - yes, with real criminals, victims and crime scenes - alongside with new friends, new enemies, and a surly, mostly unwilling detective. Because apparently, letting someone with a day-long investigative career loose around a criminal investigation was completely normal only in some places. I've already seen a lot of crime scenes close up in front of my TV screen, though, so... what could go wrong?

This story begins with Riddlington Rabbit wanting to see other things happening in a world outside the safe boundaries of his insular existence. As a rabbit, his life is spent, primarily, underground during the day, only coming out at night, under the protection of darkness, to find food. His favourite Uncle Otto sparks Riddlington's imagination of exploring, by telling stories of his own adventures. We follow Riddlington as he navigates his way to finding a perfect location, among people and other strange creatures, all living above ground. We see how he adapts to situations outside his comfort zone; finds a wife who is willing to do likewise; befriends two human sisters; till the land rather than forage; navigate his way up a river; and become disturbed at land damage, urban development, and over population. When he becomes a Father and witnesses an invasion of his territory, his new-found parental status, requires a reassessment of their living arrangements. They have little food, little protection, and little time. Will they make it home? Will they be happy home? Will they be welcomed home? Will the youngsters adapt to underground living as Riddlington did to above ground living?
