Upon his arrival in Idaho, Rowdy finds his investigation compromised when thousands of wolf supporters and environmental groups converge on the state to protest the first-ever legalized wolf hunt. Tensions between the outsider environmentalists and locals escalate when the bodies of two hunters are found in the backcountry. Also, a teenage boy disappears. Rowdy, an outsider himself, becomes entangled in this web of murder and mystery as the state moves forward with the first-ever wolf hunt.
