A California girl through and through. Born in Los Ángeles, Sarita has lived within a 100 mile radius of LA all of her life. This is her story, that of a woman's journey of self-discovery, acceptance and forgiveness and is illustrated by the challenges that confronted her at the tender age of ten when her father murdered her mother, stripping Sarita and her five-year-old twin siblings of their mother's nurturing and love and leaving them in the care of her mother's family; her determination to give her young twin siblings the love they were cheated out of and the disappointments that ensued - laced with the deeply engrained religious beliefs and her Mexican culture that molded her into the woman she has become as told in this memoir.
