Seth Tabor purchases land from Coy Bryant and settles on Big Creek with a view of where the creek joins the Buffalo River. The hickory trees that grow on the bench land prove perfect for his trade of making handles for farm tools. While preparing to cut a tree, he notices something strange going on at the Bryant barn below the bluff. It looks like a meeting that shouldn't be happening.
