The small resort town of Seaside, Oregon has become the flash point for an international problem. Powerful foreign and domestic agencies vie to see who can capture and use a renowned international assassin. The enhanced man has been shot by a Seaside resident during a botched assassination attempt. A young girl witnesses the killing of a journalist and must be killed but the assassin is thwarted by pure luck by a retired Airforce sergeant. Or was it luck? The assassin is a mutation made in a Russian lab. His power is extraordinary and his ability to stun his victims is unknown even to his handler. The assassin is captured and sets in motion events that will ripple up through the presidency to the halls of the UN. The small-town police, the young girl, and the shooter will be pressed beyond their wildest nightmares. The assassin carries a parasite of immense power and will use it to exact revenge.

This is a sci-fi, action, human drama, set in the future. It is centered on an alien invasion by sentient insect-like entities bent on using the world''s population for food. It follows a group of people that eventually wind up as the last stand for humanity. It includes a complicated relationship between a special old man and an alien Gyne. There are several human relationships the intertwine through the story. It includes descriptions of combat, love, defeat and hope. The story is told from the perspective of an archaeologist four hundred years after the war. There is an underlying supernatural theme.
