There are many more churches in Cambridgeshire than can be included in the space of one publication and this book features a selection of fifty churches that can be found around the county. Churches are many things. They are primarily places of worship, they provide service to their local communities, are of architectural interest, and are an important part of our heritage and history, with reminders and memorials of famous and ordinary people from past centuries.

This book is a selection of images of Bury St Edmunds which is a cathedral town in West Suffolk which has been described as a 'rare example of an unspoiled English town'. It has beautiful buildings, including St Edmundsbury Cathedral, which delight visitors from home and overseas. The award winning Abbey Gardens include the Rose Garden which was established by a gift of royalties from a book written by the American Sergeant John T. Appleby who served during World War II and fell in love with Suffolk. The gardens are a memorial to the men of the 94th Bombardment Group, United States Army Air Force who gave their lives during World War II. Another feature in the Abbey Gardens is the Peace Garden which has a teardrop sculpture which was unveiled on January 27th 2015 to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
