“…a voice of encouragement for those who believe success is impossible.”Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. author of Feel the Fear and Do It AnywayIt is famously written and quoted that we are more scared of our power, of our light than our dark, but here is something else: I think that many of us are ashamed of our power.  Because we were not always powerful.  We were all small once, we have all been scared, of something real or unreal, usually both, we have all had to hide or run. This is just one of the origins of fear of success.  This book is written to shed light on:-- The problem – what is fear of success?- The solutions – how do we get through our fear of success to embrace our authenticity?- The origins – what are the causes, the roots of our fear, sometimes we have to address the problem at its source. To enjoy life.Anything is possible. Pearl has travelled around the world to learn from healing masters: a Sikh yogi, a Toltec family, a Bhutanese monk, a Vietnamese nun, an African shaman, a Native American healer, an Indian guru and experts in Borneo, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Hawai’i…She has excelled as a Zumba® Instructor, not just teaching master classes and in schools, but also pioneering Zumba Gold® and chair classes for people suffering from multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.Pearl is also a filmmaker, with a Masters in Film who independently produced Everything To Dance For starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole.  Her first feature film Cheating Nature was one of the first digital features to be shot in the world. She also has a BSc (Honours) in Pure Mathematics, but it took studying Buddhism to even begin to understand quantum theory.Pearl is also a living kidney donor, having donated a kidney to her brother in 2002, eight years later she wrote the first book about donation in the UK by a donor. She is the award winning author of 70 books, of which more than 35 are officially best sellers.Previous reviews“Having read your book this morning online, you have given me so much hope and the reason to keep going now.  I cried loads… and then I laughed out loud at some of the expressions you used.  You are an inspiration to me already.”“Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you.  I have just read your book… found it very informative… and funny too - couldn’t help sniggering at some bits!”“She writes with great humour… couldn’t help laughing in parts!  This is an honest and inspiring account of an amazing woman.  Thank you Pearl, you are a true inspiration.”“I am writing to tell you just how fantastic your Zumba classes have been for our children!  After 3 weeks of lessons we are still receiving glowing reports…  The children who usually do not enjoy physical education have been very positive about Zumba because they find it so much fun.”“You give us our va va va voom.”

I couldn't find my way to Kota Kinabalu. Each time I tried it just felt wrong, but friends I'd made on the way kept telling me, "It's worth it." Just one last flight, one last booking, one last push to one last part of Malaysia. It was worth it, every last step, every penny, to be here. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories, for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life. From the Amazon Best Selling author of the "Camino de la Luna" series and the Pearl Escapes guides. "You will come away feeling as if she was sharing with you personally and will want to read more of her life adventures." "To me, you are a hero... You have learned to take something negative in your life and make it a positive... a gift to others. It doesn't get any better than that." Susan Jeffers

As I travelled around South East Asia I kept coming back to KL, seeing it differently - after all, each time I arrived I was a different person. I started out desperately grateful to have arrived in a safe pocket of Western culture (with a rooftop pool). As I recovered I felt brave enough to explore KL, and to eventually discover a traditional villa, a pocket of an ancient city that had somehow survived "development." That little sojourn gave me the strength and the heart to continue on to my final destination in Malaysia. When I returned, for the last time, I was able to try just one more type of KL hotel; the antique colonial. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories... ...for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life. The most cutting edge spa in the world. Too expensive. Until I hit a wall in my life and knew that I needed the best the world had to offer to help me heal. I let go of money and booked it, and an Uber to get me there. Sometimes you need a five star spa, with an ancient principle of wellbeing (in this case Sucimurni, the traditional Malaysian philosophy of healing,) sometimes you need a flower bath to wash away your pain, sometimes you need chefs who don't just talk but listen, sometimes you need the best hotel room you can find, sometimes you even need a great fitness instructor, like Captain Mokh, to take you through animal exercises... ...and sometimes you just need a hammock on the beach. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories, for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life.

A dream come true. But more than that. A dream I had given up on, hidden from myself, brought to light, and then realised. And yet, the first time I saw orangutans in Semenggoh, semi-wild, it was not the experience I had hoped for. Sarawak is so much more than orangutans, and in coming here to visit them I learned so much more about their world, our world and my own world. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories... ...for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life. I let go of ever visiting the rainforest, then suddenly I was there. Hiding more secrets, more mystery than I ever believed and closer than I imagined. Somewhere I never thought I would be, never thought I would see. Just a short drive from Kuala Lumpur, I was at a hill station where I could finally breathe, away from the pollution and heat of the city. Around the corner was another forest world, defying discovery, scientific study and sometimes even rescue attempts. Step off the path at your own risk. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories... ...for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life. I had no idea that I would like Malaysia. I even thought I might just fly through Kuala Lumpur and only see the airport. Life had other plans. As I travelled around South East Asia I would keep coming back, each time I would see a new side of Malaysia and I would see Kuala Lumpur differently - after all, each time I was a different person. From the rooftop pool in Kuala Lumpur to the ancient cloud forest in The Cameron Highlands, from orangutans and sun bears in Kuching on one side of Borneo to the sacred mountain Kota Kinabalu on the other, as well as discovering Sucimurni, the ancient principle of wellbeing at Tanjung Jara along the way. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories... ...for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life.

I used to get extremely burnt out and couldn't even handle booking a hotel or flight when I did have time off. I thought "Wouldn't it be awesome if someone would write a guide that gave you one perfect escape; the perfect hotel, spa, flight and restaurant." So that's what I did. I started writing my own guide, researching each experience personally, travelling around the world. My new series of mini-guides, although part of a much longer journey, are specifically designed to give you the precise information, the recipe you need to have the adventure - without getting bogged down with too many choices or details. Although there are several official "Magic Towns" in Baja, for me La Paz was the most magical of all, and when I finally arrived there it took a lot for me to leave.

I used to get extremely burnt out in my old job and couldn?t even handle finding and booking a hotel, flight or finding out what to do for a break. I thought ?Wouldn?t it be awesome if someone would write a guide that gave you one perfect escape; the perfect hotel, spa, flight and restaurant.? So that?s what I did.I also realised, as I dipped my toe into spas, that there was so much confusing information online about massages and treatments. I started writing my own guide, researching each experience personally, travelling around the world. This mini-guide to Sacromonte is a little bit different as, for me, it was at the beginning of a much longer journey, but it still gives you the hotel, the spa, the sight, the food and the rest, the escape in a box that I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes.

This guide to San Ignacio and Guerrero Negro gives you the places to stay, (no spa this time, sorry), the ways to see the grey whales up close and personal, and the rest. Despite this being one of my wildest adventures, it is also one of the simplest, because to get there the choice is simple... You either go north, or you go south. There is only one road.

This mini-guide gives you the Icelandic hotel, spa, restaurant and the rest, just the bullet, the escape in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes. (Only in this guide you get at least two hotels. This is Iceland, it likes to break the rules.) Iceland, whether or not you see the Northern Lights, is an incredible escape whatever the weather, (according to the Icelandic there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes).

There's a reason this place is called Phoenix. We talk about awakening, awareness and other terms in healing, they've become quite the buzz words (along with "woke,") but, for me, what I would call my awakening was a momentary death of ego and a rebirth of mind, body and spirit. Was it the firewalk, the driving, the teachers I met along the way? ...or just the Native American ritual in a world class spa? I've experienced so many types of healing - all I know is that what works for one person is wrong for another. Every body is different. Although I started writing these mini-guides to share the hotel, spa and the rest, the retreat in a box I dreamt of when I first began Pearl Escapes, they are also just stories... ...for the unadventurous adventurer, as well as the keen explorer, we each have our own way of experiencing life. Venice waits for you. It is the home of the artist, the writer, adventurer or madman (depending on how you look at it) for thousands of years. Their spirit abides, Marco Polo, Da Vinci, Shakespeare, Christie... haunting the canals, which demand exploration and defy explorers. "You will come away feeling as if she was sharing with you personally and will want to read more of her life adventures." "I finally feel like I'm really living, not just surviving."

This is my guide to Vero Beach in Florida - a real discovery. Even if I'd just stayed in the hotel I'd have been enjoying the best of Florida - the room, the hot tub, the spa... massage, dining, view... With an unspoilt beach full of turtle nests, a shipwreck, sharks, and an old fashioned main street, it really is an exceptional place to escape to.

Durban and the surrounding area is enough to make you fall in love with South Africa, with several amazing adventures to be had; go east for hippo, rhino, crocodiles and much, much more, go west to learn about sharks and the Zulu culture. You will not be disappointed, even if you don't like the look of the pier.

The fifth in the Camino de la Luna series (or seventh with ""free Feeling Real Emotions Everyday"" and ""Japan Is Very Wonderful"")."The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." So said Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his 1933 Inaugural Address when he first became US President. It was a year when almost 1 in 3 were unemployed in the US, a year when a Jewish pacifist called Albert Einstein left Germany to work at Princeton, a year when Hitler became Chancellor of Germany and opened Dachau, the first concentration camp. The money changers, as Roosevelt called them, had created a Great Depression. "Happiness" he said "lies not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort." Having left Sri Lanka, I was about to explore Malaysia, Borneo, Bangkok and ultimately visit the almost mythical Kingdom of Bhutan, reported to be the Happiest Place on Earth. I was about to confront my own deepest fear. Also available as a colour paperback and in eBook.

""Camino De La Luna - Reconciliation"" is the seventh and final book in the series (or ninth if you count ""free Feeling Real Emotions Everyday"" and ""Japan Is Very Wonderful"").What divides us?What sets us against each other? What stops us from being able to come home to our true selves?I had found truth in Thailand, discovered another wall inside me and freed another part of my soul. There were things to be done, journeys to be taken, strangers to meet, mistakes and regrets to put right and only some of them were mine. But my mistakes alone were enough to change everything.I had started in Spain, this Camino de la Luna, though it started long before and will not end until I die, but where next? Would I finally cross the equator to the Southern Hemisphere, to Africa and could I ever heal the new wounds in my relationships, could I find reconciliation, or as they call it in South Africa, Ubuntu? Would I ever find peace... Would I ever put down my rucksack?

The sixth and penultimate in the ""Camino de la Luna"" series (or eighth if you count ""free Feeling Real Emotions Everyday"" and ""Japan Is Very Wonderful"") ""Truth"" continues the journey."The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool." Richard Feynman, Nobel Prize winning physicistThe moment I felt my real feelings, back in a Native American healing in 2016, I discovered what a great liar I was. Lonely, depressed, desperate... the lowest of the low... No matter how my life looked to anyone else the only thing that mattered was being real with myself. But I was still lying, so poetically, so romantically, tricking myself, that my lies grew even more dangerous. Luckily life protected me from myself, from acting on what I thought was real. Instead I got on a plane to Spain and started hiking, each step bringing me closer to the truth, which I would finally understand on the other side of the world. Also available as a full colour paperback.

This is a book for people who wake up at 5am (or 3am) worrying. Sometimes genius and the truth arrive at this time, sometimes it's just your mind or your ego spinning lies, keeping you awake, freaking out your body, making you sick, torturing you, trying to keep you small. I've been there. Years, months and just hours ago. And it is so wonderful to be able to choose to get up and use this time to greet the dawn, to get clarity and change my life, or to soothe the beast and be able to go back to sleep in peace, and wake again knowing that there is nothing to be afraid of, that I am life and my life is perfect and we are all perfect. This is a book about faith, about adventure, about living with my heart open and letting go of the fear of being myself. In June 2016 I decided to sell my house of 22 years and leave my comfort zone. I had no idea where I would go next, but slowly the Camino de Santiago showed itself and I decided, with no rucksack or hiking experience to start...

In June 2016 I decided to sell my house of 22 years and leave my comfort zone. Slowly the Camino de Santiago showed itself and I decided, with no rucksack or hiking experience to start... But that's another story, the one that led to this. My Camino taught me to let go, to travel light and wash my clothes in the shower, but most importantly it taught me to trust my heart and my feet, to let my journey unfold naturally, instinctively, intuitively. In the words of the theme song from my favourite TV show, "Nobody knows where they might end up" when they follow their heart. Riding high on reaching the true destination of my Camino I raced to the airport to leave a country I'd fallen in love with but which I'd had enough of (for the moment). There were two flights out that night; Seattle or Vancouver. My heart was calling me to Seattle, the Emerald City, the home of my TV family, but it all depended on my cab driver and how fast I could run with a loaded rucksack.
