Each poem is enriched by the presence of a companion image on the facing page.Ruth Stokstad, originally Ruth Eleanor Feggestad, was born on June 26, 1923 in Stoughton, Wisconsin.Her February 11, 1943 marriage to Lloyd Stokstad produced Arden (1944), Richard (1947), Mary (1948), Paul (1949), and Jan (1952).She attended poetry workshops with noted poet James Hearst of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and was published several times in Lyrical Iowa.Her poems are spare, observational, and compassionate, with deep and at times mysterious themes.She departed the planet on June 25, 2006, and left a dear impression on all.
