This book by Michael Saunders is a collection of sermons that he gave to the parishioners of Masham and Healey in the Yorkshire Dales.As a retired Minister in Secular Employment he has been at the edge of the Church, exposed to the joys and tribulations of a life working in the British National Health Service. In his preaching he has attempted to explore the importance of a liberal Christian faith, open to the insights of other world religions, and connected with the realities of modern life.

Hollywood movies often portray gay people as being in some sense monstrous. Their movies reveal that the monster can be powerful and attractive, thereby showing gay people a way to claim power from being thought of as outcasts and obviating the notion of fitting in.
