  • - the simple truth of His birth
    av Marion W Richardson
    169

So many stories have been written concerning the birth of Jesus that our understanding of what the Bible really reveals has become clouded. The characters involved in the Bethlehem story are in reality limited and precise. In order to present only accurate facts, the author read through the scriptures and identified those details of Christ's birth. Some are prophecy. Some are accounts in the gospels. She has included scriptural passages to assist the reader as the story unfolds. The illustrations in the book are her personal interpretation of how the characters and setting might have looked. As with most of Marion's art, it is simple and primitive in its form. She feels that this format encourages the reader to use their imagination in visualizing the scene. As you celebrate the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ, may this book stimulate discussion regarding the events which surrounded his birth. As you ponder the birth of Jesus, be mindful that he left heaven to come to earth. He left heaven on a path to the cross at Calvary. He left heaven because of his immense love for you and for me. He is Emmanuel, God with us!

  • - with scripture referencing seedtime and harvest
    av Marion W Richardson
    199,-

The scriptures have so much to say about seedtime and harvest. From the very beginning, God created each plant to produce a seed after its own kind. Thus, the seed would be found in the plant that produced it. The pattern was established at creation. The words of our Lord, Jesus, have a lot to say about planting, harvesting, sowing, and reaping. He told many parables intended to teach these very profound concepts. There are keys that unlock great wisdom in the words Christ spoke about seedtime and harvest and its similarity to His Kingdom.Just as Lottie and the friends studied God's word and waited upon Him to reveal the words that should be spoken, so too, I trust that young readers will reap great harvest in opening the scriptures to the truths God chooses to reveal. We could all use to be more like Ruach, the little dove, who scratches, pecks, and seeks to get inside things that are sealed in order to have better understanding of those "words that should be spoken." May your seeking be fruitful!

  • - a tale of a day in the court of King Solomon
    av Marion W Richardson
    115,-

In "An Audience Before the King", the author has taken the liberty to imagine how an audience of stately students would have appeared as they sat before the great throne of King Solomon. She delves into a day in his court, his words, his actions, his dress, and mannerisms. Based on Proverbs 22:22 through 24:22, this is a short tale regarding 30 admonitions and knowledge presented by King Solomon of Israel.

  • - with scripture encouraging faith in God's ways
    av Marion W Richardson
    185,-

Children can learn early to put their trust in God. They can depend on His ways to be right. They can pray to Him, study His Word, and be intentional in their behavior. By beginning these good habits at an early age, their future will have a strong foundation of faith. As the friends learn in this story, God wants us to be "strong and of good courage." He desires that we place our lives in His loving, caring hands and expect a good outcome. May the lesson from this be that God has a good and perfect plan for our lives. We should ask Him to prepare the path before us. We can trust in His ways. As King David says in Psalm 34:8, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Here's to The Good Path!!!

  • - with Scripture regarding enlightenment
    av Marion W Richardson
    189,-

As we hear and study of Jesus, our minds and eyes are opened. The spiritual light inside our head and heart is turned on and we begin, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to understand God's word. The more we know about Jesus, the more we know Jesus. That enlightenment that comes enables us to "see" God's plan for our lives as well as His plans for His Kingdom here on earth. Elisha prayed that The LORD would open the eyes of his servant in 2 Kings 6:17 saying, "I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see." In the same manner, you will, as Matthew describes, "understand with their heart." Luke writes, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see."In reading this book, seeing the love in the hearts of Lottie and her pals, may you too be drawn to the Gospel message. May you have a desire to invite others to hear God's word, to be a part of bringing others into the Kingdom of God where they can learn more about Him, His Son, and His Spirit. In doing so, they will connect to God's plan for their lives and futures.

  • - with scripture reference to God's story in the stars
    av Marion W Richardson
    259,-

What an amazing story the Lord has placed in the night sky for all of His children to see and understand. It never ceases to make me stop and wonder at the majesty of our God who had a plan to save the earth before He ever created it! What grace was exhibited when He created the human race knowing His own son would be required to die to save them from their own freewill actions. Here, the friends explore the concept that the stars speak, telling the gospel story. We have included a brief review of the twelve constellations and the story they tell. May all of God's children hear and believe the story God has written in the stars. Enjoy as you listen to the stars speak!

  • - with scriptural reference to spreading The Gospel
    av Marion W Richardson
    245

The missions field is critical to the spreading of The Gospel message of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. The Apostle Paul made it quite clear that unless we send preachers into the field, the message will not be heard. Unless it is heard, we can not hope that others will believe. It is through carrying the word of God into the nations that The Kingdom of God is spread. Where needs are great, God's people can carry His great love to them in the form of food, water, shelter, and education. Others see the light of Jesus' love in the helping hands, caring hearts, and giving attitudes. From Romans, "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Three things will usher in The Kingdom of Heaven. First, the love of God, creator of the universe, the great 'I AM', father of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Second, the rule of His Son, Jesus Christ, Savior of the world6, victorious lamb whose blood has saved mankind8. Third, the move of The Holy Spirit over the people and nations. As Christians, we pray, "thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven." As you read about Lottie and Teddie and how they dedicate themselves to raising funds for the missionary field, do not fail to recognize the mission field they encounter in their own circle of influence. They are able to be used to spread love in what would appear to be small jestures of kindness such as fetching water, feeding helpless animals, and cleaning up trash. May we all be convicted by the words from Colossians, "and whatsoever ye do, do it hartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ...for ye serve the Lord Christ."

  • - with scripture referencing the power of The WORD
    av Marion W Richardson
    185,-

I believe that The LORD wants His people to recognize the power of His WORD as found in The Bible as well as our own words that we speak each day. His scripture tells us that we "do not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live." We have the resource of our Bible to teach us to speak words correctly. When we speak weakness, sickness, and trouble over ourselves, we give those things an open door. When we speak life, healing, wellness, and positive outcomes over ourselves, we give good things access. God's word teaches us, "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." God's WORD has been compared to a sword, fire, gold, a hammer, a mirror, and a lamp. Lottie's thoughts of illness began in her mind. We are told to "take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." God's word, like a sword, slays negative thinking before it takes hold. His word is also like fire. Fire purifies. It cleans off all of the dirt and grime. It lets the beauty shine and kills the rotten and the ugly. As stated, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." Psalms reads, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." It is through study and application of His word that we find the good path. We get instruction and wisdom from the lamp of His word. It guides us through darkness and fear. It illuminates. His word is a hammer which breaks those rocks that appear to be unmovable, unshakeable, and unbearable. We can believe Him when He says, "I will take sickness away from the midst of thee." We are told that the words of God are more desired than any gold. Gold shines and represents the glory of God. Gold is the evidence that God is at work. As we are reminded, "When thou has eaten and art full, then though shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee . . . and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied." Further, God's word is like a mirror. When we "look into it" then we will "be blessed."9 When we behold "as in a glass the glory of the Lord," then we "are changed into the same image from glory to glory." 10 Daily reading of God's word will cause us to reflect His glory into the world in which we live. There is great power in the words that God has equipped us to speak for they have come through Jesus and share His strength. Our savior, Jesus, spoke words over the sick and they were healed. He spoke words over the lame and they leaped for joy. He spoke words over the blind and they gained sight. As the scripture says, "for his word was with power." When we talk about The WORD, we are talking about Jesus. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus is The Healer. Speaking of Jesus, Isaiah says, "and with his stripes we are healed." Throughout His ministry, "great multitudes came together to hear; and to be healed by him of their infirmities." When He was preparing to leave the earth and return to Heaven, Jesus gave the commission to, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." He told them that they would be able to "lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We see an example of this happening in Acts when the "Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately." Not only is Jesus, The WORD which delivers healing, He is The WORD which gives eternal life. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." From early times, God has told us to "choose life, obey His voice, for He is thy life, and the length of thy days." We are reminded in the Psalms, that "He sent His word, and healed them."

  • - with scripture reference to The Feast of Tabernacles
    av Marion W Richardson
    245

The Feast of Tabernacles is the last of the three Fall feasts which are commanded of God in the book of Leviticus. They are the culmination of the seven holy anointed seasons which the Israelites celebrated as recorded in the Bible. Jesus, his family, the disciples all attended the feasts at the temple in Jerusalem. They are times on God's calendar which are of great importance to Him.This great Feast points to a time in the future when all of God's people will worship Him on earth. His presence will be among us. His glory will be so intense that there will be no need for the sun and the moon. It will be a time of great celebration and joy. Oh, how His people will sing Halleluiah to The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, will reign on the throne. The story told here references the scriptures which describe The Feast of Tabernacles. Lottie's vision is intended to show the symbolism between the living water and the light of the world, both of which refer to Jesus, as they were portrayed in the early temple ceremonies. Jesus "tabernacled" with us when He came to earth and walked, ministered, healed, and prayed. One day He will return to dwell with us. We celebrate now knowing that the day is coming! We look to the heavens and say, "Holy is the Lamb, who was, and is, and is to come!" We sing and shout, hosanna to God in the highest, worthy is The Lamb. Praise King Jesus, may we shake, shake, shake the lulav to the east, south, west, north, up and down in anticipation of the glorious celebration that is to come.
