Aus dem Buch: "Obwohl ich also stets zur Stelle war, kann ich mich nicht erinnern, daß man mich jemals außerhalb der Bürostunden gerufen hätte; erst Anfang Februar 1921 wurde ich eines Morgens um halb sieben von jemandem angeläutet, der sich als Mr. Watson Paley, Privatsekretär Lord Cheverdales, vorstellte.
