The evil Master of Brimstone, trapped within icy crystal for two years, has finally broken free with the help of his faithful Magician, Dima. He rebuilds his world and begins devising a new method to conquer the Keepers' world and kill Singer Mariachi, who imprisoned him.Meanwhile, a collapse at the Deep Mines in SpiritShine Valley has forced Gatemaster Sharptooth and the Miners of Redrock Keep to search for new mines. More red slate and diamonds must be found so that the Keepers can continue to build their guardian pillars, which protect both their world and the world of Arkady against Brimstone's attacks.The Miners must put their search to the side however, when North Slope Mountain in Arkady awakens from its centuries-long slumber and reveals itself to be an active volcano. The imminent eruption forces the Keepers to put all other work to the side as they rush to evacuate the towns within the volcano's reach.

WIld dragons are once more found roaming the land of SpiritShine Valley, entering deeply into the inhabited parts of central SpiritShine in the evenings to feed, and the Keepers must capture them to protect the Crafters from harm. Meanwhile, the evil Master of Brimstone has found a Queen and teamed up with the Boss of the Office. Together, they open a door directly into the world of SpiritShine Valley. The Keepers have a losing battle on their hands until the first of the Singers shows her power and aids them. After another breakthrough and the kidnapping attempt of Lady Sundancer, the Master is neutralized by another of the Singers. With the Master missing, Lady Shiraz takes control of Brimstone, relegating his Queen to slavery, as Brimstone's Magician, Dima, searches for a solution to save his Master and Queen. The Keepers, for a time, are safe.

After a car crash on a snowy winter night, a woman finds herself in a strange, summer land walking hand in hand with a tall warrior who brings her to a town and leaves her with city officials. Soon after, she finds herself running for her life and carrying a strange bundle that must at all costs be kept away from the enemy.

A lost dragon returns to the Keepers and a mysterious temple rises in the swamps of Arkady. The Keepers must once again battle the Brimstone forces to set things right in the land.
