ADD can explain why a child is over-active, bored, lazy, constantly demanding, argumentative, unmotivated, disorganised, without friends and experiencing learning difficulties. But does this diagnosis mean that your child is doomed to a lifetime of failure 'NO!' says child psychologist Ian Wallace. In this new book he introduces troubled parents to a variety of practical strategies, designed specifically for ADD, that can help them and their children manage everyday problems. At once factual and otherworldly, Nguyen's collaborative interdisciplinary practice addresses suppressed histories and the healing of intergenerational traumaDeveloping projects through collaborative community engagement and extensive archival research, Vietnamese artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen (born 1976) utilizes strategies of remembrance to highlight unofficial and suppressed histories. Interweaving fact and fiction and often employing mythologies of otherworldly realms, Nguyen reworks dominant narratives into stories that propose creative forms of healing the intergenerational traumas of colonialism, war and displacement. Nguyen's 2023 New Museum presentation is his first US solo museum exhibition, showcasing a new film and two recent video projects, The Unburied Sounds of a Troubled Horizon (2022) and The Specter of Ancestors Becoming (2019), alongside works from the artist's sculptural and object-based practice. Drawing together conceptual threads from across the Global South, Nguyen's exhibition sparks a dialogue on inherited memory and testimony as forms of resistance and empowerment.

This is the first extensive survey catalogue of the work of Vancouver-based artist Ian Wallace-a key figure of the extraordinary artistic ferment in the Canadian city of Vancouver, a pioneer and theorist of its internationally regarded tradition of photo-conceptualism, and a teacher and colleague of such luminaries as Jeff Wall, Rodney Graham, and Stan Douglas. Energized by the dialectic tensions between monochrome painting and documentary or staged photography, between the emblematic sites of street, studio and nature, Wallace's practice fosters engagement with the persistent impulses of vanguard modernism.A distinguished company of European thinkers, curators and critics have been invited to consider Wallace's art, inspirations, and influence: Vanessa Joan Müller considers the persistence of the monochrome in the artist's oeuvre; Thomas Weski considers his engagement with the development of photo-conceptualism; Dieter Roelstraete addresses the dialectics of street and studio; and the eminent French philosopher Jacques Rancière pursues his on-going meditation on the politics of aesthetics, which has had a strong influence on Wallace's thinking about art. The indispensable reference includes extensive color reproductions, catalogue of exhibited works, a chronology, and thorough bibliographic information.
