I missed the period of my life when I trusted everyone. I think most people have that period. I blindly trusted until one by one I was betrayed by the people who was closest to me. The people who were supposed to love me and be honest to me let me down. I lost confidence in humanity. I lost confidence in love, loyalty. and family. The only friends that remained were some of my workers. We were life's misfits, sharing our stories of lost dreams and failures. The most powerful memories of my life were the teenage years that I spent with my brother Bruce. He was my mother's favorite son, born with multiple sclerosis (MS). I used to take him swimming almost everyday, being weightless in the water made him feel powerful and normal. He fought his disease and other than tiring easily he was no different than any other teen. Since we were both excellent swimmers and always at the pool, we were offered a chance to fill in as lifeguards at the beach. It was a great summer with a large crowd and plenty of sunshine. My brother felt strong and his disease did not hindered his life, he hid it well. He never felt sorry for himself, he was light hearted and good natured. He was older, physically I was the big brother, but mentally and emotionally he was a much bigger person. Bruce taught me how to appreciate life and except who I am. I lost him to hurricane Jane. I learned that some people are afraid to die, others are afraid to live.

Sometimes love is so close, but sometimes just out of grasp. Doug loves Kate, but he wasn't her type; she wasn't interested in him. He accepted it and tried to protect his feelings. He had low self-esteem. She was different from him and thought a lot of herself; born with a perfect shape and clear skin. She made many friends and they were quick to please her. Doug was overweight; kids were mean and called him pudgy Dougy. He grew immune to smirks and insults. She was showered with kind words and praises. One day Kate had an accident and Doug was the only one there. He saved her life and she felt indebted to him. She brought him into her world. He suddenly had new friends and hung out with the cool kids. He lost weight, but had new problems. He tried to protect Kate from being a target and trophy for drug dealers and opportunist. It wasn't easy.

Bart was a poor college graduate without a job and buried in debt. Things changed when he inherited his uncle's property. It came with a strange farm hand named Alan. The farm didn't provide typical vegetables or animals. Instead it produced marijuana, and wolf-dogs bred for professional dogfights. One dog gave him winnings of eighty thousand dollars in a single match. The dogs were a mix of great dane and wolf. They were fed live animals and shot with steroids to increase their size and anger. They were the ultimate fighting dogs; super sized wolves. Bart had been bitten by the gambling bug. He paid off his debts, but things took a turn for the worse. One dog escaped, and since he was bred and trained to kill he terrorized the town. Brutus swam across the lake and took a baby from the arms of a camper. Wolves were protected and it was difficult to find and trap the individual doing the killings. Bart and his farm hand dressed as game wardens and went after the super sized wolf. They hunted Brutus, but he knew their scent and hunted them.

Stan was a misfortunate orphan, he was raised by his uncle Hector. Hector was mentally unstable and the worst foster father that a parent could leave a child to. Hector was a war scorn madman that brought Stan to the remote woods to be raised. Hector had an abnormal desire to hunt and kill. Although he hunted the most dangerous beast of the forest, he craved hunting humans. Living far from society kept him from becoming a serial killer. He passed on his sick thoughts as well as his hunting skills. Hector's health failed as he aged and one day he challenged Stan to a game of kill or be killed. Stan was forced to leave the forest, he joined the Army and became a fearless warrior. He was seriously wounded in combat and when he returned he took a job as a police officer in a large county. He had a license to kill. The problem was Stan didn't limit his killings to the bad guys. He became Iron Stan, Psyco Cop, Serial Killer. 911 say your prayers.

Eric was a respected contractor, he made a fortune during the building boom. He lived a clean humble life and invested his money well. His employees did the opposite-they spent all they earned and partied away their savings. Some of them despised Eric, they felt that he had capitalized on their strong backs. They felt that Eric looked down on them, most of them were in legal troubles. Some had drug problems and others had child support troubles from several woman.
