A new translation of The Casket (or Cistellaria) by Plautus.A young man is in love with an 'unsuitable' young woman - a courtesan. His father disapproves and has in mind a much more suitable (ie. lucrative) match. The play allows the audience to consider and interpret the Roman world of the citizen, the slave and the courtesan.First produced in 202BC, some of the original text has been lost, but this translation completes the gaps to produce a rounded play.

A new translation of The Captives by Plautus, probably first produced at the end of the third century or early second century BC. It is unusual amongst Roman comedies in that it deals with a serious subject - the treatment of prisoners of war.

A new translation of the Roman comedy The Pot of Gold (Aulularia) by Plautus. The final act, largely missing in the extant sources, has been completed by the translator, David Bolton, as part of this edition.
