"Searching for Answers in Capernaum" is the fifth book of "The New Way Series." It is based on the first century manuscript "Acts of the Apostles" written by Luke. Capernaum is a large city located in Galilee and a place where Jesus once lived and taught. The children of Capernaum thought it was the most wonderful place to grow up. But as they entered adulthood, they realized that not only was Capernaum not perfect, but maybe their ideas and beliefs were changing, too. As they learned of Jesus' death and resurrection in Jerusalem, they began to search for answers to their questions. Gradually, we see the New Way impacting their world, but we also see Capernaum changing as more and more Jewish Pharisees moved into the area. The New Way that they had discovered became dangerous and even life-threatening as it stood firmly opposed to the traditional beliefs. Acts is a turbulent time of history and Capernaum's children became adults at a time of great social change. "Searching for Answers in Capernaum" is based in first century Galilee, but is relevant as we contemplate the same questions today. Enjoy the fictional account of how these adults dealt with their changing world."Waiting in Obedience in Capernaum" is the next book in The New Way Series and continues with the characters you'll meet in this book. Watch as their world continues to radically change, and they must determine their response.

"Waiting in Obedience in Capernaum" is the sixth book of "The New Way Series." It is based on the first century manuscript "Acts of the Apostles" written by Luke. Capernaum used to be a wonderful place, but it has changed - or have their eyes just been opened? Life as they knew it was gone. Right had become wrong, and wrong had become right. We wait with these same characters introduced in the previous book as they deal with these questions: What do I do when my beliefs don't fit society around me? Will I wait in obedience when my world is crumbling? Is my faith strong enough to carry me through when I'm definitely in the minority? The next book in The New Way Series will take us to Antioch, a city in Syria. Many followers of Jesus have relocated there and the characters, some of whom walked with Jesus as children, now must face adult questions regarding what they believe and how they will let it affect their lives.

"Looking Through the Eyes of a Child" is the first book of "The New Way Series." When I completed a chronological study of the first century manuscripts, "The Gospel According to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John," I began to imagine what it might have been like to be a child watching life as only a child can. I wrote a children's book entitled "His Young Friends." While "Looking Through the Eyes of a Child" is about these same children, it is designed to be read by adults who desire to use their imagination to envision what it must have been like to live in the first century at a time of amazing change and transformation, a time of miracles and supernatural happenings. Children have a way of seeing through the games that adults play, the masks they wear, and the bravado they display. It is my hope that you'll be able to see what they saw. There are twenty-two separate stories that together form a biography of the life of Jesus as seen through the eyes of a child. Can you imagine what it must have been like to see Jesus heal your brother, or raise your best friend from the dead, or stop a storm when your boat was sinking? While the characters are fictional, references are given to the manuscripts listed above that form the basis for the stories."The New Way Series" begins with children, but future books will watch them grow to adults and impact their world by what they saw and heard as children. Please enjoy "Looking Through the Eyes of a Child" and anticipate future books in "The New Way Series" based on the manuscript entitled "Acts of the Apostles," written by Luke.

"Growing the Love in Cana of Galilee" is the third book of "The New Way Series." It is based on the first century manuscript "Acts of the Apostles" written by Luke. The first century was a turbulent time of history. Society was changing primarily because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In book one of the series, "Looking Through the Eyes of a Child," you met some of the characters, and in book two, "Hearing the Truth in Cana of Galilee," I imagined how the happenings in Jerusalem began to gradually impact the little village of Cana sixty-five miles to the north. In this book, "Growing the Love in Cana of Galilee," I continue to look at these same characters and watch as they grow to become more like Jesus in how and who they love. The New Way of living caused Orly and Gabriela's love to grow and deepen. As they and their friends followed the New Way, they began to care deeply about those in slavery and treat them in a way that caused others to take notice. This love began to impact the local synagogue and introduced amazing changes."Growing the Love in Cana of Galilee" explores the internal changes that these young adults experienced as they broke with the traditions of the past and embraced the New Way. Their treatment of slaves was not the only radical transformation. Watch as they learn to love not only people of other beliefs, but also a group who were their political enemies and conquerors. Visualize the new followers of Jesus learning to love others the way Jesus loved. There was no Bible to follow. Yet, step by tiny step the Holy Spirit was teaching them to grow in love.I hope you will look forward to watching these same characters discover that following the New Way may take them on difficult paths in "Following the Way in Cana of Galilee," Book 4 of "The New Way Series."

"Following the Way in Cana of Galilee" is the fourth book of "The New Way Series." It is based on the first century manuscript "Acts of the Apostles" written by Luke. The first century was a turbulent time of history. Society was changing primarily because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. After his death, there was no Bible to follow and various groups broke away and began to practice their own beliefs based primarily on tradition. In this book I imagine the characters from the previous books continuing to grow and mature. I imagine their faith being tested by troubles and hardships. They encounter radical teachings that rock them to the core of their beings. We see God calling some of them to leave Cana in order to share the New Way with others - some sacrificially choosing to remain single and traveling to unknown lands, giving up the comforts of home.Jesus said that He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Come with me and see how following the Way impacted these young adults in "Following the Way in Cana of Galilee." Watch as they boldly follow the Way by loving people that were considered their worst enemies - the Romans who ruled their homeland. Watch them follow, sometimes reluctantly, but ultimately triumphantly where the Way led them.I hope you will look forward to meeting some new characters and hearing the story of the New Way impacting a much larger city in Galilee almost 90 miles north of Jerusalem. Book 5 of "The New Way Series" is entitled "Searching for Answers in Capernaum."

"Hearing the Truth in Cana of Galilee" is the second book of "The New Way Series." It is based on the first century manuscript "Acts of the Apostles" written by Luke. Once I completed writing the first book of the series, "Looking Through the Eyes of a Child," I began to imagine what it must have been like for those children to grow up and become adults in such a turbulent time of history. There was an amazing transformation in society immediately after the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jerusalem was shaken to its very roots by the teachings of Jesus. His New Way of living impacted men vs. women, free men vs. slaves, Jew vs. Gentile, and religion vs. the teachings of Jesus.Cana is a small town located about sixty-five miles north of Jerusalem, yet "Hearing the Truth in Cana of Galilee" explores how the New Way began to impact every aspect of their daily lives. Imagine with me how the citizens of Cana might have heard about the New Way. Visualize the new followers of Jesus learning to listen to Him and follow His instructions. There was no Bible to follow. Word of mouth was the only way the New Way could spread, yet Jesus had predicted that it would spread like wildfire. What would it be like to grow up, fall in love, choose your career, and experience life's journey, impacted by individuals who had actually traveled with Jesus? How would they incorporate what they heard? "Hearing the Truth in Cana of Galilee," Book 2 of "The New Way Series," introduces many of the citizens of the town of Cana. Some of these are young adults who were introduced as children in Book 1, "Looking Through the Eyes of a Child." I hope you will look forward to the further development and growth of these characters as they discover that following the New Way grows their love in Book 3, "Growing the Love in Cana of Galilee."
