'Clive has a wonderful and unique form of writing. These short chapters are quite profound. Many of us are already familiar with the Bible stories he refers to but as we read each chapter of Clive's book our eyes and spirits are opened to see the story freshly and with new understandings. Clive, very simply, yet graphically gives us the background, the thinking and the feeling of the characters un each of the stories. In a very easy to read style Clive teaches complex theology in a very devotional manner because He understands God. God is love and Clive opens our hearts to encounter that love and then share it with others. This book would be a great book, for personal devotion, for new Christians, for those interested in understanding the Bible more. I am sure you will enjoy these short readings immensely but also have your faith expanded and be challenged by fresh insights and understanding of the love of God.'The Reverend Anne Harley; Pastor, Uniting Church Townsville.

Planning is good for us all! This bold statement neatly summarises the core theme of this new book, which reviews the origins, evolution and operation of the modern UK Town and Country Planning system. The author provides a personal, and at times passionate, case for the many benefits which this system provides. This view runs contrary to those of many politicians and members of the public. Now and into the future planning must play a central role in delivering solutions to the three interlocking challenges of climate change, environmental loss and our individual and collective health and wellbeing. These are all key issues at the very heart of sustainable development. The author uses his 55 years' experience as a leading planner in local government and consultancy to demonstrate the centrality of quality planning to all our lives. This book will appeal to those engaged in the built and natural environment professions, politicians and decision-makers, students and engaged members of the public.

On the cover we see a father sharing joyful love with his son. The son has a total trust and confidence in his dad, so he is able to give himself to the exercise with a heart full of joy. There is no physical contact between them, but their spirits are united as the dad shares his love with his son. We may not have any physical contact with our Dad in heaven, but we can have the same utter joy as we trust Jesus who loves us and will guide us all the way to heaven.
