Bishop F. Josephus (Joey) Johnson, II, has led one of Akron's largest and most influential churches for 45 years. In 2004, he was awarded a unique graduate-level reading certificate in cultural anthropology and New Testament Interpretation, from Dr. Bruce Malina, former professor in the Theology Department of Creighton University. Dr. John Pilch and Dr. Bruce Malina conducted anthropological seminars at The House of the Lord for several years and mentored Bishop Johnson. Rejection is one of the most harrowing and common human experiences.  While there are some psychological, emotional, and counseling resources to deal with rejection, I have found few spiritual resources.
