Presents findings from the three principal mesolithic sites on the Cotentin peninsula in Lower Normandy - Auderville-Roc de Gîte, Flamanville-EDF and Flamanville-Déhus - with more limited discussions of the excavation of Digulleville, Hatainville, Surtainville, Cosqueville and Jobourg-Perréval II.

The Mesolithic is regarded as a period of transition and, in recent years, a series of notable sites have been discovered in France that have begun to elucidate the nature and timing of that transition.
