This is a children's story, which could also double as a short essay, about boxing legend Jack Johnson. It is based on a visit to a park in Galveston, Texas that bears the athlete's name. Using photos that were taken during the visit, from the author's own collection, Johnson's story of a man who battled racism is told. It speaks to how he was able to overcome tremendous social obstacles to reach the pinnacle of his sport. Johnson wasn't liked by too many people in his lifetime, yet in death he stands as a hero decades ahead of his time.

"Sorry" was a poem first written after the author was caught in the act of wrongdoing. Shortly after, the poem was discarded in slush of poetry files, and it wasn't touched again until recently. The author chose to release the poem in the hopes that it helps another person find the undeserving grace he found himself.

Gabe and His Hero, written by author A.J. Chilson, is about a young boy who is the hero on his baseball team. He is loved by his teammates and fans. But one night, Gabe isn't able to play as well. After the game, Gabe learns who his true hero is.
