When Prudence Baxter loses her long-standing job as a P.A. in the wake of the 2008 banking crisis, she certainly thinks she's hit a brick wall. She might even be forced to sell her family home. She eventually finds work, but it's a job her previous self would have turned up her delicate nose at: a chamber maid in a newly opened hotel.
